  1. On the Summit, the TV's at the casino bar are tuned to "sports stations". However, the casino is not open during embarkation and the casino bar is closed until the casino opens.
  2. I’ve never been in any suite (from Sky Suite to Penthouse) where the Retreat Host (former title: butler) does NOT do room service delivery. If your Retreat Host is on his/her break during your delivery time another Retreat Host will deliver. I give my Retreat Host an additional gratuity on the last day of the cruise —. Not each time he/she delivers room service.
  3. I know I’ll probably be unpopular with Zeniths, but it amazes me how entitled some Zeniths are. I’m guessing quite a few Zeniths are “difficult guests”. I am also a Zenith and I am just happy to be able to sail again. Having or not having access to MC/RL is inconsequential to me.
  4. I’m sailing Summit in a Royal Suite and I received 2 generic emails from “ConciergeJxxx” who indicated he was in contact with Sylvia and Connie and offered to help. Long story short…..these generic emails were sent in error. I have since been in contact with the shoreside concierge for Summit (who is NOT ConciergeJxxx, but is in fact a female!) who has handled all our requests.
  5. Totally agree with you regarding Luminae being "heavy" on fish/seafood. I, too, can't eat fish or seafood and on some nights every single appetizer is a fish/seafood app. The folks in Luminae have no problem making a small fresh fruit dish for me for an app. Lots of the entrees are also fish/seafood. I've always been accommodated with chicken dishes in Luminae on Edge. As a matter of fact just last month the chef made a chicken parmigiana for me. While it fell way short of our "traditional chicken parm" (it was more like a chicken schnitzel with a bit of cheese on top) I appreciated the effort. I always ask for low sodium meals as I find all the dishes in Luminae (and in all other dining rooms for that matter) are loaded with salt. I know what I get is truly not "no sodium" but at least the chef doesn't add any additional sodium to my meals once I make my preference known.
  6. I used Larry's in September in Fort Lauderdale. They were great. I already have them booked again for our November cruise department from Miami. I highly recommend them.
  7. Unfortunately, the "amenities" of a Royal Suite now only include: unlimited laundry, complimentary specialty dining, minibar set-up, 2 bottles of liquor, the "premium champagne" as opposed to sparking wine. "Amenities" of a Royal Suite used to also include premium beverage package, internet and prepaid grats but in order to get those items now you NEED to book an All Inclusive Rate. I'm not sure the exact date when this change went into effect. I agree with you that what you describe above is the way it used to be. Pre the "shutdown" I booked a RS or PS plenty of times with a senior rate or a resident rate and definitely did get all the "amenities" you list above.......but that's not the case anymore. I just priced out a RS at the Resident Rate and it most definitely DID NOT INCLUDE beverage package, grats, prepaid grats, etc. etc. So.....the Resident Rate may not give you the "best bang for your buck" anymore.
  8. Thanks for the input. I’ll definitely request a wheelchair at the port.
  9. Speaking of the gangway…… is it an especially long walk from the terminal to the ship? I know at Terminal 25 at Port Everglades I usually request wheelchair assistance as it’s quite a long trek from the Retreat Access in the terminal to the actual entry to the ship. Having no experience in Miami I’m just wondering if it’s a lengthy walk to board. I know “lengthy walk” is a subjective term but I’m just looking for some opinions. Thanks!
  10. I am currently onboard Edge where there is a little bit over 800 passengers.
  11. Captain Kate is still currently onboard .
  12. I was also on last week’s sailing and agree with OP - it was a perfect cruise. We were fortunate to be in a Penthouse Suite and everything was flawless. Cruise was so good that we decided on Thursday to stay onboard an additional week and am currently still onboard with a little over 800 passengers. Perfection everywhere I look.
  13. I am currently onboard and was also onboard last week. Lauren went on vacation on 9/11 and has been replaced by Luigi. I thought all entertainment last week (both solo performers and production shows) was excellent. I am just so happy to be on a ship viewing live entertainment. I also thought Lauren was an outstanding Cruise Director. She literally was everywhere mingling with the passengers.
  14. Jim, I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe I was not clear. Two of us had to be tested. We each did 1 test. Each test was a separate session. I went first - it took less than 45 minutes. My friend then logged on to her account Navica account (from my laptop at my house) and she took her test. I am sorry if I was unclear in the way I posted this.
  15. We did our tests this morning. Each test (there are 2 of us) took no more than 45 minutes from start to finish. We started with our two tests at 8 am and were completely done, with results emailed to us by 9:35 am. Got our negative results and have printed them out. This test, taken right from my house, was perfect. So glad Smmessineo posted about this method of testing.
  16. I received my 6 pack last week via FedEx and no signature was required.
  17. You're way ahead of me. After my September 4 Edge cruise, I have 10 nights on the Summit in November. In 2022 I've got three booked (2 on Summit and 1 on Beyond). But I have not even started to think about 2023 yet. Hmmmm......maybe I should!!
  18. Me too! But just imagine the withdrawal that Ken the cruiser must be going through right about now😉
  19. Thanks for the info. My memory was telling me that it was a long walk to get a taxi.
  20. Ken, We are the ones who are thanking you. Your 3-week journey was enjoyable for ALL of us. I hope you and your DW are acclimating yourselves to being on land again. And I hope your DW found a chocolate dessert at home tonight! Again, thanks, and I look forward to reading about your next adventure. jcpc
  21. aring75, Thanks so much for all your posts while onboard. It appears that you two had a wonderful cruise. I have a quick question regarding disembarkation and taxi service/private limo service for you or for anyone else who recently disembarked. As I recall, when I sailed in 2019 and we disembarked at Terminal 25, we had quite a walk with our luggage down to the end of the roadway (to the right of where you walk out of the terminal) to get a taxi cab. Do you know if this is still the case? Did you happen to see taxis right in front of the terminal as you were exiting? Also, any info on private car service (i.e., limousines). Do they pull right up to the door to pick you up or do you have to drag all your luggage down the sidewalk to get your ride? Thanks in advance for any info you or anyone else can provide.
  22. I called eMed yesterday with this exact question. I was told they are currently operating and proctors are available for testing 24/7!!
  23. As I recall, when I sailed from Port Everglades in 2019 and we disembarked at Terminal 25, we had quite a walk with our luggage down to the end of the roadway (to the right of where you walk out of the terminal) to get a taxi cab. And to make matters worse, it was raining cats and dogs. Most of the walk was covered but there were quite a few areas that were not! Do you know if this is still the case? Did you happen to see taxis right in front of the terminal as you were exiting? Also, any info on private car service (i.e., limousines). Do they pull right up to the door to pick you up or do you have to drag all your luggage down that sidewalk to get your ride? Thanks in advance for any info that anyone can provide.
  24. Ken, Thanks so much for all your posts and pictures over the past three weeks. And a big thank you for answering all the questions (mine included) that you got. Enjoy your day in Nassau and your last night onboard the spectacular Edge. Wishing you and your wife safe travels home.
  25. Thank you so much for your positive post. I, too, am on the September 4 Edge sailing. This sounds much easier and more convenient than going to CVS. I just ordered a 6 pack from eMed. Again, thanks, and enjoy your August 28th sailing.
