  1. We have had cove balconies on Dream, Magic & Breeze. I will book them as long as they are on the ship. Close to the water and saw dolphins twice. As to sea spray, there would be a little residue on the railings but nothing that bothered us. Like a previous poster said, check your location that you're not under the galley or other noisy spot. Take a book, great place to chill and read, or nap, or drink or have breakfast.........Most of all Enjoy !!!
  2. We Stayed at the Prytania Park last time in NO. It is in the Garden district and we used the Street Car for transportation into the French Quarter. It was a great little hotel that really is New Orleans style, Breakfast in the courtyard and very quaint. We parked for the cruise at Fulton Place and have used them several time and will use them again when in New Orleans.
  3. I also print an extra to put inside just in case they do get ripped off the handle 😊
  4. I liked the later check in. We don't buy FTTF and the 12:00 - 12:30 puts us on the ship with little wait time on rooms being ready. Drop off all the "stuff" and off we go. Nothing wrong with earlier check in if you don't have to lug all your carry on with you. No matter what time you get on the ship, At least you are on VACATION !!!😎
  5. We are from Topeka and our last trip we stayed in Huntsville. Nice hotel right off the highway. That makes for an easy trip on embarkation day with really no worries. We even stopped and had breakfast with friends in Houston, stop at Buckee's and easy drive to parking at Lighthouse. We had a 12:30 check in and even with the Massive rain we were on board by a little after 1pm. Have a great trip !!
  6. We were in 2248 last year. I love the cove balconies. We have never had them close our balcony due to rough waters. They are a nice place to get away from the loud music and just enjoy the ocean. We have seen dolphins while in the lower cabins and just seem to enjoy them. Hope you have fun on your trip and remember to relax and enjoy
  7. Just walk on by them. Who knows what you have in you bag, they don't !!! Love cruising from Galveston, easiest port for us to get to. Last trip we were off the ship and pulling out of Lighthouse parking by 9:15 am- Home in Kansas 12 hr & 3 minutes later
  8. Have you tried calling the Cruise line. Explain to them the situation and maybe they can help without having to have all the information. Good luck and praying for all those effected by this situation.
  9. We were on the Breeze first of September and it was the easiest disembarkation I think we ever had. Got zone 6 tickets and we were off the ship and in our car pulling out of parking by 9:15 am. They called our zone around 8:30 and off we went. Sorry to hear it is not like that way any longer.
  10. We have sailed for New Orleans several times. Always enjoyed but leaving in the winter is can be cold-cool until you get out into the gulf or Caribbean. We travel from Kansas so going through Memphis is on our route. We have stayed several times just south of Memphis but always went in for BBQ at Marlow's, not far from Graceland. Travel from Memphis to New Orleans not bad. As mentioned in previous post there are many things, sights to see in the New Orleans. Last time we stayed in the Garden District and enjoyed riding the Cable car and not fighting for a parking place down town. New Orleans is a unique place and you will have fun. Enjoy your trip.
  11. We did this a few years ago in Key West. We rode the trolley through the entire route, then on the second time around we hopped off at things we wanted to see then hopped back on and went to the next place of interest. Worked great for us to see and spend as much time as we wanted at each location. Trolley runs about every 15 - 20 minutes.
  12. THANKS for the Codes, 11,000 points this morning !!!
  13. If you are cruising out of Galveston, when you are heading out of the Terminal there is a table set up and they will ask if you purchased cigarettes or Alcohol while on the ship. If you are honest and tell them yes, they want taxes on those purchases. $15.00 in tax for a carton of cigarettes. Just ignore them and walk on by.
