  1. Yes. Mine finally dropped off 6 days later. It is generally much quicker than that.
  2. April out of San Pedro was freezing this past year. I have never seen so many people wearing Ensenada hoodies and sweatshirts before. ☺️ And Northern CA is very, very cold right now. They are even predicting a little snow on the peaks. I don't know how SoCal is doing. You are correct, September was very warm. It was nice!
  3. Not at all! You can sleep wherever you want with your family. Best wishes on your possible upgrade. ☺️
  4. Self-assist just means you don't put it out the night before and carry it off yourself in the morning. Other than Seattle, (Port provider) I don't think luggage valet has returned.
  5. I only know, that if you win a bid, you can't switch to a room for 4. And if both rooms should win bids, I think it is a longshot that they would be close together. Pretty much, it sounds like you should keep what you have booked. IMO ☺️Edit: I guess you could probably use the larger room for 4, if you actually won a bid. But you would still have to keep the other room.
  6. That's too bad Debbie. It is going to make everything more difficult. After I posted, I wondered if it might be more common out here, that most older people have computers or at least smart phones. My mom was almost 90. She wouldn't do email, after she acquired a virus, but at least she had a computer and online banking.
  7. I think your mom would probably want one with the heated pipes (more like a towel rack)☺️ instead of the bucket style. That is a nice gift.
  8. TOTO toilets are the best! They are what we have here and will probably replace the ones at the other house with TOTO's. ☺️Ours don't actually do all that, but they are wonderful potties.
  9. Was one of the son's listed on her accounts? I was a joint tenant on all of my mom's and set up her online banking, so I could pay her bills, even when she wasn't handling it. And also, all of the collection notices that came in after she passed. It made it much easier. I never needed her checkbook, unless MIL was very old school and without a computer.
  10. Not a local, but we spent most of the day at Paddy's flea market. fun shopping! Link: https://paddysmarkets.com.au/ They had new clothes, not used and good prices. Most popular mall, according to Google: https://www.westfield.com.au/sydney
  11. And since we are on the subject. I have a question for Dani @dani negreanu in a lot of the photos of the cemeteries in Israel, there are window spaces cutout into the crypts. Is that to check on them? I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I am just curious as to why there would be openings. ☺️
  12. Thanks Lucas. The Neptune Society was wonderful, and very low key and without upsells just like you said. Is mom gone, or still under hospice care? How are you and Oliver doing? Write to me if you want or feel like chatting. pbhunt at pacbell dot net. ☺️ When my dad passed in 1979, the funeral home convinced my mom to purchase a very expensive coffin for a 20 minute memorial service, even though he was being cremated. Having been in several crematoriums, since then. I am sure they just re-sold it. 🙁
  13. Oh Debbie, I'm so sorry. I am sure it is very sad for Eric. And I will put in another endorsement for the Neptune Society. The ashes can wait for distribution when you have more time to think about it. Eric should get some stuff done before you leave, but then take the cruise, and just relax. It will help to get away.
  14. That is very cool, Dave! I love volcanoes and how impressive they are. You are seeing an event that hasn't occurred since 1984. ☺️ We flew over the 'dormant' crater last time we were in Hawaii on a helicopter excursion.
  15. My photos did. That is why I think these look so much better. ☺️ And they were nice enough to share them.
  16. Thanks for the info about your rental, Debbie. I think we still won't rent it out. Especially because there is still too much stuff. There is a nice bar and stools in the basement, which is surrounded by boxes of unknown stuff. ☺️ And I am sorry to hear about your MIL. I know she is mean. My mom had a heart valve replacement at Stanford. We both kind of went back and forth, as to whether she should do it or not. Better, not better, how bad is it now? You won't have any improvement unless you do it. She was still well enough to have the procedure. But she kind of went downhill after that. Induced coma and weak, I don't think, sadly that her condition will improve. Short, funny story. We went to see her twice at Stanford. I called every night to see how she was doing and had about a 10-minute conversation with her one evening. It took about that long to realize that it was not actually my mother, and I was not actually her daughter. Apparently, boyfriend had picked mom up, and she was already at home. Nice conversation with the other lady, until we realized we weren't actually related. ☺️ LOL
  17. Oh yes! That was pretty incredible when Kilauea was erupting in 2006. And the Captain on Serenade took us very close. About 300 meters. 😃 Just steal these photos. I "borrowed" them from someone else. Mine just looked like fog, with a glow from all of the steam 😃I even had them printed and put them in my photo album. But I do that with a lot of folk's photos, that are posted on Cruise Critic. People that were on the same cruise. Except one of Harry's, of an awesome iguana in FLL.
  18. Hopefully not, but I have been told that chimneys are very expensive to rebuild. I used to inspect termite companies that were treating homes that were being sold and saw several rebuilds underway. And yes, a failing chimney should have been noted in the property inspection. But it is probably too late now. That's a shame.
  19. Battery operated, wouldn't be a problem. I don't know for sure, but I think they don't like things that plug in.
  20. You do have to call. And that is probably the best way, because they are out of most things. I don't remember what the day limit is, but it is worth a try. ☺️We received a lot of water, and truffles. There was a form onboard, for other things wine, cupcakes, we could request to change our selections. (That would be delivered onboard)
  21. You're right Mark. "The Maze" is kind of slow. I always love John Corey's dialogue, but this one is almost over the top. I was laughing at the video chat with his parents in Florida from New York. "They are shouting at the computer, because Florida is a long ways away." ☺️
