  1. Reading this thread looks like everyone is a little bit different. We sailed on the Oasis on 9/12, our luggage tags it showed up short of a week before the sailing, and were able to download our luggage tags just by luck when I checked my Set Sail Pass daily for anything different taking place. You ask why? Well, our cabin was moved from deck 6 to deck 12 to deck 10 and after multi phone conversations first with my TA and the C&A to the RCI Resolutions Dept. finally got involved, and we were back to deck 6 in a different cabin that wasn't too bad while our original cabin remained empty for the week. My small group were all seated at different tables too, a stop off on deck 3 to chat with the M'aitre D brought us all back together again on deck 4. All in all a small bump in the road but the week's cruise brought us calm seas and excellent weather for the seven days.
  2. Oh come on...tells us poor humble Diamond Plus peons what they are 😉
  3. I hope so cruisinot...it was a real disappointment this time around. if he likes raw onions on his dog then he'll be even more unhappy. Actually they opened at 10:30 am. I wouldn't suggest to be there much later so he wont get leftovers from the day before. For his sake I hope things get better there. On the second cruise that we were on there were never many people there, maybe the word got around fast? Please post what he thought of his Dog House dog when you return.
  4. Ok, then that changes the game, you have to book by the end of this month afterall.
  5. Might or might not be especially if the person is trying to earn points to get to the next tier. The 30th of September is the last day to do that for the double points.
  6. That's the way to double your point status or if she's travelling solo she's getting quadruple points.
  7. Nope, no contact tracelets were given out, only a blue rubber wrist band to keep on showing you were vaccinated. No facial recognition on board the Oasis. The debarkation process went well. Put your tv on and wait for your color tag to show up then proceed down to deck 5 aft. The only facial recognition set up was with Customs. There weren't any in their booths that we were accustomed to go to, only the screen that you looked into with your Passport in your hand. Ahhh what technology !!
  8. Definitely NOT Claudine for the D Club concierge. A gentleman holds that title we found him to have a so-so attitude when it came to asking questions.
  9. Grandson on the Mariner 3 nighter told us earlier that on today's stop in Nassau people were asked to stay under cover from a heavy passing thunderstorm. Anyone else on that ship experience that? He lives in Florida so it wasnt anything too surprising.
  10. Not surprised Royal is still running thin on getting things done right. My group were all sent to different tables in the MDR. A stop off to speak to the M'aitre D on deck 3 took care of that glitch. You'll notice on the Oasis there are a lot of new hires and many are in training while quite a few didn't have a good handle speaking and understanding the english language. We realize everyone has got to start somewhere.
  11. We weren't charged a corkage fee, we also brought screw on 2 cap bottles of Conundrum a merlot. In our cabin we also had complimentary wine with their own corkscrew. BUT wife brought our own from bed bath and beyond just in case the supplied opener didn't work. (We traveled by car to Bayonne)
  12. Doesn't look like any of the in service ships are having that event from what everyone is saying..My answer from an officer was that maybe the Oasis will have it when it arrives in Florida, but now everyone knows even the Florida sailings aren't having it. Just another sign of the times and trying to be careful.
  13. I was on the Oasis a week ago, looks like getting reservations is a 'safety net" just to be sure the person whether they're over or under 12 is going to be sitting where they're supposed to be sitting. A good idea on Royal's part while not getting people upset. The non vax children with their parents were on deck five in the Theatre, although we noticed very very few people.
  14. PLUS on the Oasis you not only have your card scanned then go over to the sink but when you're through your breakfast or lunch you exit the Windjammer from a different door you came in.
  15. Does the Mariner, cabin 3540, first cabin in the front, port side have a port hole or a full size window? Thanks in advance.
  16. The European models seem to be more accurate than the American models. I'm assuming that this is the European model? Good that you did your homework ! As you can see it will remain a very intense hurricane with the MB's staying low.
  17. At approximately 2:00pm today (Friday) there's a subtropical system forming north of Bermuda that has a 70% chance of becoming a weather event for the maritime. Something to watch closely. Last week when we went south on the Oasis we pretty much hugged the coastline, on the return north we were closer to Bermuda, I'm sure the Captain will be well informed in changing his course if necessary. I wasn't aware the Canada was still not allowing cruise ships in. Thank you for the updated information.

  19. Exactly, at 11:00am the minimum central pressure is 993 millibars, (the lower the millibars the stronger the storm) That's a very intense storm (hurricane) that quickly will graduate into a Major hurricane by this Saturday evening. By next Wednesday at the present track St. Marteen and Puerto Rico will be feeling it. Weather is an inexact science so the steering currents can certainly change in either direction in five days.
