  1. Well at least when its included in the fare they guaranteed to get something. I always tip above what is included in fare. I know that the main people who score tips are bar staff, stateroom staff, coffee makers etc. But I like to tip the bathroom attendants cause I reckon they have one of the shittest jobs on the ship.
  2. Also another thought. I wonder how much Disney Cruises are sucking out cruisiers who would have travelled on other lines for the opportunity crusing Disney. See they might have taken one or two on another line. But decided to take one expensive one on Disney since its a novelty.
  3. Nah. All from Sydney. Nothing happening of interest from Melbourne.
  4. Welcome back. We have done four cruises since everything started back and have four more booked with the next one due to go in August 2023.
  5. I wanted to cruise on Disney, but Pete said no. It was for kids and did I want to be around all those kids. . .
  6. So much to see in the CBD. They have beautiful walks along the Yarra, parks, botantical gardens, Shrine of Remberance, Art Gallerys etc. Some nice restaurants down Southbank (river side) too. St Kilda would be a good place to stay, but I would stay in CBD and that way you can ultise the free tram network. https://whatson.melbourne.vic.gov.au/things-to-do
  7. Avoid peak buffet times or get up really early when first opens (just not on port day). Go later on. Same with dining don't go the 6 pm - 7pm time. Try later after 7.30 pm. Order room service breakfast.
  8. Depends on your flight time and the day to consider which transportation. Options are 1. Princess transfer - can be a lot of waiting around 2. Cab - can be quick if traffic is light 3. Train - but you have to haul all your luggage, buy your ticket. So factor that in. 4. Walk - allow a lot of time. But you get a hearty workout burns off all those calories consumed on ship ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. That why PO Australia or cruiselines should do package deals that includes flights.
  10. My partner had brought a new suit for the cruise but he was delighted he only had to wear it once when we went to the speciality restaurant ๐Ÿ˜„
  11. Lack of variety in itineraries. There only so many times that a person can cruise the same destinations before they start looking for new adventures.
  12. Judging by our 20 days on the Grand you can basically wear anything but your togs into the dining room formal or not. Maybe not shorts on the formal night. But it was pretty relaxed.
  13. That horrendous pricing for inside cabins. I used to grumble paying $200pp for inside. Even then I wouldn't have booked. Best to wait 6 months out and see them discount.
  14. I was more curious at what sort of $$$ they going to charge.
  15. Thanks. I haven't seen anything about it from any online TA. I just got an email last night for my Princess PVP. But when I log on like I cant see the pricing.
  16. Can anyone view the pricing on the website. I'm Elite. But its not showing as available to me. However, on the main Princess forum they can all view the pricing.
  17. For some reason even when I log onto Princess it shows them but you have to contact them. I wanting to see what prices are before I make enquiries. I'm Elite.
  18. The itineraries are so poor for us at the moment. I've been looking overseas too for cruising but then you look at the flight cost. Makes me depressed.
  19. In late 2024. I be interested to see what materialises. I'm looking for something in second half of 2024
  20. Sorry that you missed you ports. I got really lucky on a Transatlantic cruise I did in 2015 where we managed to get into all three Iceland ports. Only port we missed was one in Canada (I forget the port now). I think these types of cruises its really hit and miss with weather. Though I love to do the cruise again especially Greenland ports.
