  1. Wee Jimmy—sailed with him twice and he actually remembered us the second time. I figure they always claim that but he said, “Oh yes! The husband who had a secret birthday!” My husband is very introverted and thought I had told the cabin steward it was his birthday when we came back to a decorated cabin. He wasn’t happy. We had a conversation a day or so later with Jimmy and I mentioned the room decor. The first cruise we took with Cookie, his love and marriage show was by far the funniest I have ever seen. The older couple were all in on his Memaw and pawpa schtick and it was great. Jamie Lee absolutely made my youngest son’s first Carnival cruise. She was just a fun squad member but was running a game for which he got picked. She asked him who brought him on the cruise (he was 8 ) and he said his mom and dad. She asked which was his favorite and without missing a beat he said, “My brother.” She died laughing and from then on, no matter where she saw him or how far away, she would yell, “Jacob!! Where’s your brother??” Across the pool deck, out at port, it just went on. He felt like a celebrity.
  2. @hard_eight was 11:30 the earliest time for check in originally? We are sailing on this ship on Dec 4th and the earliest check in was 11 which seemed odd but it looks like yours was even later.
  3. That seems like a lot of great options. I’m not a vegan or even vegetarian but I think it’s really cool that Carnival is doing this. Do other lines offer similar vegan options?
  4. Did he hook it up to the TV or just play on the handheld?
  5. A multitude of reasons. They are not seasoned cruisers and don’t expect a long line. They need info about something in regard to the next day. (I’ve done that twice. Once on a B2B when we never got any info on where to go n turn around day. Once when my son had Covid.) They are paying off their account with cash or collecting leftover cash they didn’t spend. (I’ve done that too.)Now, I am sure many are removing gratuities. However, it’s not the only reason.
  6. I’m going on two cruises out of Galveston in Feb. First one, SW changed our flight going and my friends’ flight back home. I’m staying in Galveston for a couple of days. The people joining me are coming from 3 different states than I am. All flying SW. ALL the flights both coming and going got changed this last week. At this point we still have months to go so I’m expecting more changes.
  7. Actually, all I had to do was logout and the log back in with the closer cruise. All set now. 16 days!!
  8. Well that sucks a lot. Thank you for the info though. At least it will save me the aggravation of trying to figure it out.
  9. I cannot figure out how to add another cruise to the Hub. I swear I have done it before. It wouldn’t be a huge deal if I was adding ne that comes after the one I’m already signed in for, but the new one is less than three weeks away. Can anyone at least tell me how to start this process?
  10. Cheng already mentioned an organization I don’t know but my thought had been that as long as it is illegal in their flagged country or counties the ship visits, the US law isn’t relevant. Pretty sure that’s also why you’re denied boarding if you have CBD. If only! Contraband sniffing dogs made me giggle. A few years ago Carnival took my little craft scissors I had in my purse. How would the dogs sniff those out anyway? Do they alert to irons and surge protectors too? I loved those scissors. 🥺
  11. Wow! That is a LOT of waviness for Grand Cayman! Thanks for continuing with your review. We really like to get connecting cabins when we have sailed with our kids. That door in between really makes it feel a lot more spacious. My husband is rather claustrophobic so we always get balconies but we also hav3 three kids so five people in one cabin sounds like no fun at all.
  12. Thanks for all the info. Doing this cruise in Feb, directly after returning from the same itinerary on Carnival Breeze. I’m looking forward to what the differences will be. My daughter and I have also gone on a few trips with just the two of us. Always a great time to share and make memories.
  13. I’m all for the drug dogs (though I am paranoid that my bags will have some residual scent from my medical use in my home state.) However, the random searches if a dog has not alerted seem not only inefficient but I can understand how if you’ve experienced it a few times like the OP, it could set your cruise off on a negative note. OP perhaps your name matches closely a known drug offender. At any rate, that would be aggravating and I understand what you are saying.
  14. What is it? Awesome to hear! Going on a cruise in Feb with some friends and he is one of our comedians. One of the friends is very…innocent. I’m hoping for very funny PG comedians.
  15. Wow! That is a lot to deal with! I’m so sorry that what should be fun and exciting has been stressful instead. My only idea would be to send a message/post on JohnHeald’s Facebook page. He may be able to step in and help you out.
  16. I have gone through his comedian list and clicked on all the men. He’s not there. But the cruise we were on was Oct 22 thru Oct 30th. This may be a lost cause!
  17. October 22nd through Nov 5th is when we sailed so I’m pretty sure he was there the 22nd to the 26th. We went to HMC, Grand Cayman, Aruba and Bonaire on the 8 day which was our first portion.
  18. That’s good to hear. Staying in one in February with three friends. Yeah, four adults in one cabin. Oh boy! My favorite is a Lido balcony. Second is cove not under the galley, third choice is a balcony between two decks of cabins. The only cabin I haven’t liked was the inside with a window to the secret deck. I didn’t like having people talking right outside my window and ended up keeping my curtain shut most of the time. The space was great though!
  19. My husband and I were on Spirit in mid October last year. There was a comedian who was on the first half of the week who was fantastic. But neither of us can remember his name. He’s an older white guy, kind of heavy, gray hair. He walks around the theater before the show, chats with people etc. He does a LOT of crowd work. In fact, he has them bring the house lights up for the whole show. One of his big things was going out into the audience to “explain” a joke to someone if they didn’t laugh. He does all clean comedy and was friends with Louie Anderson. (We talked about that because we are from MN.) I think his first name might have been Tommy, but my husband doesn’t think so. Does he sound familiar to anyone?
  20. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Sorry about the parking hassle. Sounds like everything smoothed out after that though. And I needed the reminder to pick up some z-packs in Mexico next month so your sickness was my gain. 🥴
  21. Or possibly more problematic, if your decorations and your door had reversed polarity, your decorations would go flying across the hall. 😂😂
