How quickly does room service usually arrive if you wait to order in the morning?  I was hoping it would be quicker with decreased number sailing.

Hope you get an answer soon, since so far no one has actually addressed your question. 🙁

  2. Hi - far more familiar with Celebrity than Princess, but have sailed both in balcony staterooms.

Princess has more free dining offerings - International Cafe is great when you are hungry at 3 am.

Celebrity desserts are pretty, but Princess desserts taste better.

Celebrity has sofas in their regular balcony cabins. Have to be careful what you book on Princess if you want a love seat/sofa.

Celebrity ships have a covered pool in the adults only Solarium - a really  nice place to relax. Princess doesn't have anything like this. Sanctuary on Princess is nice, but an extra cost.

There were a lot of activities in the Atrium on our Princess sailings. Not so much going on in the Celebrity atrium area. However, no live trees in the Princess atrium.

Princess has self-service launderettes with irons & ironing boards. Celebrity sometimes has $20/bag laundry specials. More likely to be about $50/bag - folded, not pressed.

Celebrity doesn't allow smoking in the casino - Princess does.

Princess has the large outdoor "tv/movie" screen by the pool. Celebrity has an "added on" screen on refurbished ships.

Unless it is summer or a school holiday, usually not very many kids on Celebrity cruises. Longer the cruise - fewer the kids.

Average age on Princess is probably a bit younger than on Celebrity.

I don't know how it is on Princess, but I was unexpectedly on crutches on my last Celebrity sailing, and the staff were fantastic! Got me wheelchairs when needed, pushed me up steep gangways, room steward would run to open stateroom door for me. Above and beyond customer service wherever I went. (Great room stewards on all our cruises, save one Celebrity sailing where he was just OK.)

If sailing on a Princess Grand class ship, the mini-suites on Dolphin deck don't have covered balconies. Balconies on Caribe are half covered. Except for aft staterooms on the Celebrity S class ships, I think all decks have fully covered balconies.

Celebrity balconies are larger than most of those found in "regular balcony" staterooms on Princess. (Celebrity Edge class ships are in a category of their own regarding balconies - not going down that rabbit hole in this conversation.)

Some Celebrity balconies have such large overhangs that you can't see up to the sky very well. Beware of blocked mid-ship sight lines on Celebrity Millennium class ships. Angled balconies on the S class ships are really deep.

Princess is definitely the way to go for Alaska.

Enjoy all your upcoming cruises - both lines are great!

    bon voyage

Bo - don't forget the overnights in Bermuda!

We're on the same sailing and I look forward to meeting you. Always wonderful to finally meet someone who contributes so much to the CC boards. K

OP - apologies for the brief hijack of your thread.

  4. This test is to ascertain your mental state now. If you get one right you are doing OK, if you get none right you better go for counseling.

There are 4 test questions. Don't miss one.

    Giraffe Test

    1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator? Stop and think about it and decide on your answer before you scroll down.

     image.png.fd62764272af4c361c7cf946ac00f202.png

The Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close

the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an

    overly complicated way.

    Elephant Test

    2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

     image.png.0aec2004a19b6b29b3949ea23a3a301d.png

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

    Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

    Lion King Test

    3. The Lion King is hosting an Animal Conference. All the animals attend except one. Which animal does not attend?

    image.png.3df8f6008dca41639aeca0547c929915.png

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory.

Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

    Crocodile Test

    4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

    image.png.ca540f3258b17fffa16f0b454ba47956.png

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Haven't you been

lis-ten-ing? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Conference. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the Retirees they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively proves the theory that most Retirees do not have the brains of a four-year old.

Send this out to frustrate all of your smart friends.
