  1. The vast majority of reliable cruise information on Google is from people asking questions on this website.
  2. I thought AO always closed from 5 to 7 even pre-covid?
  3. Cod, pollock, haddock, tilapia probably a few others. Not sea bass, halibut, or flounder. Those are too expensive to be given a generic name.
  4. This is because of the evac process from the Northstar. If they have to, they can rope people down from it. My wife and I had a solo ride last year and really chatted up the crew member.
  5. Considering you are talking about it 2 years later, it sounds like it was memorable ;).
  6. I thought you did, but I don't know. I always just go straight from my room to terminal.
  7. I can get mine under if I lift up on the edge a bit. The edge of the frame is a bit lower than the middle.
  8. The real change I see with this is that it'll be harder to use the vouchers on disembarkation day. In the past you could drink them starting at midnight now not until 5 am. I doubt many people get 4+ drinks from 5 am to disembarkation.
  9. Freedom's OS balconies are the same as Oasis class. I had the first OS on the hump and loved laying on the chase lounger looking forward through the glass watching the bridge wing going up and down relative to the horizon. I think Odyssey was the same width too, but not as deep.
  10. I don't think anyone is a fan of their website.
  11. Even the short video it looks like it ended up right side up. Not sure why people think it was upside down.
  12. It might impact the total bandwidth available to the ship, especially in an area where multiple ships are being serviced by the same satellite.
  13. Yeah, as more people get on Star Link the more the speed drops. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2022/12/starlink-speeds-in-us-dropped-from-105mbps-to-53mbps-in-the-past-year/ It was pretty disappointing on Allure last week. Lots of connectivity issues and Wifi calling only worked once. I only did a speed test a few times and the speed was around 3.5 mbps with a ping between 500-900ms.
  14. There are pictures of it on many blogs. Looks like they just started putting out different food.
  15. When Disney's earnings came out I was thinking I needed to figure out where you post now so I could get your insight.
  16. The 100# minimum is the really restrictive one, basically need to be a middle schooler or at least a very late elementary kid.
  17. I've never heard of injuries. It was fully CLOSED for the first ~8 months out of dry dock while they worked modifications on it. They added speed scrubbers, pads, and extended the cover at the top. Plus tightened the weight and wind restrictions. It opened a week or two before my first sailing on LB, and at the captain's corner the chief engineer talked a lot about it. That after initial testing in dry dock everyone saw the issues with it and refused to open it until it was made safe.
  18. OT: @CastAStone are you the same CastAStone from DBC?
  19. The weight requirements are much tighter than they originally were going to be. Can't remember the exact numbers right now, but a light parent my not be able to ride with lighter kid. Two bigger adults may not be able to ride together. Then it has to close in high winds (don't know the exact number, it was "windy" any time I saw it closed but other stuff was still open). They also had to add some speed scrubbers at the beginning that I think tear up the rafts.
  20. The Freedom class has the most pool space per passenger in the fleet. 3 large pools, plus a decent size Solarium pool. Lots of hot tubs. And Splashaway Bay is really nice, much better than the kids area on Odyssey. Not only do the kids like Splashaway, I really enjoy it too (my DD is too short for the big slides, so I ride the Splashaway ones all day with her). I've always enjoyed the MDR and WJ food on Liberty, I'd say basically the same as Odyssey. Nightly activity has been a little weak the last couple cruises. I think it is because I always do late dinner, which conflicts with all the game shows. And then inside of the even theater entertainment being before late dinner, they've now moved it to after dinner which makes it hard with a young kid. But they have a full compliment of bands/performers, in March they had the best coverband I've ever experienced at sea every night.
  21. They had a lot of issues with it when it was new and still have far more restrictions on it than they had originally planned. Probably why they never added another one. It is crazy fun though.
