  1. My wife and I have gone back and forth on this over the years as we always seem to cruise with a group. The group changes from sailing to sailing, but there's always at least 10 and has been as many as 29. And there's always children in the group. 2 years ago I wanted to book a Haven cabin, but not everyone was capable of doing that, so my wife nixed it. Last year I really wanted Vibe passes, but we had young children in our group (grand nieces), so my wife nixed it. Lol!! I almost got a pass just for myself, but then my wife would have nixed me!!! I think it makes the most sense to stay in the same class of accommodations and amenities as your group. I've "had" to do it many times and still have so much fun! In 23 days my wife, daughter and I are sailing Getaway. And while there is a group joining us, we (my wife) don't feel it necessary to be with them as much so, finally, we'll get our taste of Vibe!
  2. That is disappointing! My wife and daughter are aware that I skipped it last year and want me to attend next month, so that's what I'll be doing. Lol! If it's only 10 minutes and disappointing, I'll just be getting back to my day drinking faster! Thanks for your comments.
  3. Looking forward to your comments on Getaway cutbacks. We're sailing Getaway in 23 days.
  4. As ready2cruz said, get yourself registered and then you'll automatically receive benefits. The package left in your stateroom is very nice and they do have a reception at some point and it is listed in the dailies. I sailed Joy last July, received the package, but missed the reception due to day drinking! Lol!! I'm sailing Getaway in 23 days and plan on attending the reception this time. NCL does this military perk right. the discount is great and the recognition onboard is a very nice touch too. Enjoy your cruise!!
  5. I believe fas+ is an upgrade package which would require you to have the basic fas first. I'd call about this to find out for sure.
  6. I sailed Joy last July and, 100%, there were no Vibe passes available on embarkation day. I checked in multiple spots and was told by several crew members that all passes are meant to be sold ahead of time. Leading up to my sailing on Getaway in 25 days, I've had my pcc of many years look into it and I've spoken to 3 different corporate reps. Everyone says the same thing. The idea is to sell them all pre cruise, if possible. Debate over! Lol 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
  7. I do admire your persistence, but what you keep posting over and over and over again is just not true! They do not hold back passes and it's not NCL policy to do so. It would be bad business if they did. IF there are passes available on embarkation day, it's because of only 2 possible reasons. They didn't all sell before embarkation day or there were cancelations. That's it. Very simple.
  8. I'll let you know after my sailing in 25 days! Right now there are 2 production shows, Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor. It's been said on here and on that other site that Burn the Floor is ending it's run on 3/31. We're disappointed, if this is true (and I believe it is). There are always 2 comedians that play throughout the week (or longer) in Headliners and in the main theater. I think I read that there was a magician? There's a club, Syd Norman's, that has different rock shows throughout the week. And there are various musical acts that play at different venues. I saved the best for last! WHEEL OF FORTUNE!!!!! I think most everyone will be disappointed with that, but I'm sure my wife will check it out. We've always been pleased with the entertainment onboard the various ships we've sailed, but there's definitely been some cutting back of the main shows. We plan on fully enjoying our cruise and hope you do too.
  9. As a Financial Advisor myself, I concur.
  10. I've been trading NCLH on every dip and spike too. Let it keep going from 14 to 20 and back down to 14 and I'll keep doing it. It's been easy money!
  11. Lol!!! Why would you possibly think that? They are sailing at, or close to, full capacity on every sailing! The majority of live reviews on these forums have been mostly positive too. There has been cost cutting on all of the comparable lines, yet they are all filling their ships. I'm voting no on if they are heading towards bankruptcy.
  12. It's really very difficult to know what to do, but I think first and foremost, you have to book a cabin that you can live with. Then, throw a bid in that's comfortable and hope it happens. I bid this past July for a sailing on Joy out of NYC. I had booked an inside for my wife and I and when the opportunity to bid came around, I bid on a balcony and a cbs. I won the cbs with a $130pp bid, which was $5 over the minimum. Obviously thrilled with that result! And, we were notified about the win 46 days prior to sailing. We've been vacationing more than usual the last couple of years (probably making up for the pandemic blues), so we once again booked an inside cabin for our upcoming Getaway sailing in 31 days. I've bid on a balcony and cbs again and we'll see what happens. I did go to the website this morning and ran some mock bookings and there's still approximately 85 balcony cabins available and 35 cbs cabins, so maybe we get lucky again. The price to do a regular upgrade is pretty darn high, so this is the option we chose.
  13. Had a bartender do the same on Encore 4 years ago at the OL with Heinekens and I did win but then I stumbled to the cigar lounge and barely made it. Lol 😂
  14. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
  15. I'm not sure where you get your info but I just posted right before you that I just paid $289 for 10 days on Getaway! My sailing is in 34 days.
  16. I was thinking about this for my wife and daughter but maybe I won't mention it now. Lol 😂 Thanks for a terrific live review!
  17. I just paid $289 for 10 days on Getaway.
  18. Not me this time! Lol 😂 I didn't respond to you. I think kalypso confused things.
  19. Thanks for setting me straight, from the other side of the pond. You have enlightened me with your kind and inspiring words, from the other side of the pond. You have convinced me of NCL's shocking demise of quality on all fronts, from the other side of the pond. My sincerest apology for sharing an opinion in your thread, from this side of the pond. Thanks again, Oh Superior One! (I will be trying to convince my wife and daughter to call me this now) PS I thought the hospice care comment was pretty clever. Maybe it doesn't translate to your side of the pond. Cheers!
