  1. We had limoncello in Torshavn on most nights during our Dec 2018/Jan 2019 two week cruise on the Orion from Auckland to Sydney.
  2. Thanks Tim. I may buy one of those for our Dec. 2019 Viking cruise. We just can't imagine only 3 drawers that aren't even in the closet. I don't count the nightstand drawers and the drawers in the bathroom as closet drawers.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Where do you put all of you clothes that you can't or don't hang for two people for a full two week cruise, even knowing I will do some laundry while on board?
  4. Did Viking do renovations to the ship during its repairs? Specifically, do the DV closets now have the 3 drawers similar to DV closets on the Viking Orion, or is it still just the 3 drawers under the safe and none in the closet?
  5. On our January cruise, the Viking sparkling wine was included in the SSBP. It is not champagne, but it is sparkling wine and was good enough for me. The included prosecco was also good enough for me. I enjoyed both. My wife enjoyed the additional, better quality wines that were included in the SSBP over the included wines at lunch and dinner.
  6. Well, we missed the M&M party. I hope everyone who did attend had a great time. I wish we could have made it. Life is still great. The first comedian was hilarious; the last one was good but not great. Musical comedy just does not do it for me. Beautiful Saint Jean de Luz today. Gorgeous beach and nice town, but very strong sun. I eat salmon almost every night for dinner. Last night, I requested it be blackened. It may have been one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Prego is the only specialty restaurant we like and it has been wonderful too. Daniel continues to entertain at the Avenue Saloon every night. We end most nights there until the wee hours.
  7. I thought I heard it was the day we boarded, but I assume that is not the case. I have not heard anything since. I will ask reception soon. Life is still great onboard. Wondeful, slow and relaxing sea day today. Bordeaux tomorrow for 2 nights. Looking forward to that very much. Great workout in the gym this “morning” (11a). Not crowded at all, but others were exercising too. Craving another salmon wrap....
  8. if yo are in the Cove tell Humberto and Anna Hi from robin, Done. They smiled and say "awwwe". Then I told them I have never actually met you, so they have to tell me about you. They said you were a lot of fun and love to dance. All is great aboard the Serenity. The open dining has worked good for us (always getting a table for 2) and service has been wonderful. Had a great workout in the gym this morning and our obligatory salmon wraps (plain with whole wheat wrap) from the Trident grill. The whole Trident staff is amazing, just like I remember.
  9. Daniel was in Ave Saloon and will be the full cruise. My first impressions were great.
  10. We have completed our pre-Serenity adventures and I will write more about it on the appropriate forum. For now, I will say it was phenomenal. It was better than we expected. It was Crystal as you would expect in so many ways, but so different in other ways too. We will do another Crystal River cruise. We boarded the Serenity today. Team Crystal could not have made it any easier for the 10 of us coming from the Bach. We left the Bach at 10:55 am and were walking on the Serenity at 11:05 am with no line, pause or any interruption. They did a fantastic job. Today was a great first day on board. We had our favorite salmon wrap (whole wheat) at the Trident Grill, twice, then walked more of Amsterdam. Dinner was simple grilled salmon and veggies at Waterside, then a great evening at the Avenue Saloon. We also enjoyed the last 2 songs from guitarist Carlos at Palm Court and chatted with him for a few minutes. He was great and I am sure will become a favorite of mine.
  11. We are enjoying it very much!!!!!! This pre cruise adventure is simply incredible, and we will stay here again. We have met 4 other couples who will be joining us on the Serenity. They are making it very easy on us to get there and find out bags in our Serenity, the ocean cruise ship, cabin. i notice several people who typically post on Crystal forums have not posted on this one. They must not agree with me posting about my pre-Serenity adventure. Sarcasm mode on. All is great.
  12. Still on my pre-Serenity adventure. Very excited to board her soon, but in no rush. We first sailed her in 2014 in the Med, then cruised the Symphony in 2016 from Amsterdam. Did not like fixed dining or even DBR, so it will be even better this time . Breakfast, lunch and dinner in this Waterside is open to. In fact, you just walk in and pick the table you want. Service everywhere is so friendly. It’s amazing the number of small details they quickly pick up on. in Redusheim am Rhein today. Ran 4 miles around the town in 100 degrees. Have to burn off all of the Jacquart somehow. All is great!
  13. imcpa has it correct and doesn’t want to see their thread moved to the backwaters of the River Cruises forum Bingo If I were on the correct forum, I would not be posting about my pre-Serenity adventures. Those adventures include a awesome experience staying at my pre cruise accommodations.

  15. Mannheim today. High of 99. We are from Dallas, so nothing we aren’t used to. Only ran 1.5 miles at 3pm though around the water tower. The “fitness room” has its limits, but we make the best of it too. Have never used a rowing machine as much before this trip. But I digress since this is the ocean forum. Can’t wait to have open dining on the Serenity. if I were to comment on the right forum, I would say the service, food and fellow guests are all wondeful.
