  1. We did Venice to Rome on the Diamond in 2004. We had previously only done a Navigator Alaska cruise and a Windstar cruise. We loved the Radisson service and food. Remember the tenders going between the hulls and being on the bridge for our sail into Dubrovnik. It was a fun ship, not sure how we’d feel about her now!
  2. Got the same email. Monday was 270 days out from our Navigator Istanbul to Dubai cruise. ☹️
  3. I'll let Flossie answer, but when we stopped in Cartagena, January 2022, we took the CARTAGENA & THE PALACE OF INQUISTION, CTG-006, FREE 11:30 AM to 3:30 AM, 4 HOURS tour and enjoyed it a great deal. Description follows: Your tour starts with a drive to the San Felipe Fortress for a photo stop, the largest Spanish fort in the New World. This fortress defended the city from several attacks, and withstood a bloody assault from British Admiral Vernon. From here, you will continue on to the Old City, which offers lovely views of the ocean. Walk to the Historic Museum of Cartagena for an inside visit. Enjoy an inside visit of the Navy Museum with a Folkoric Show following with a walking tour around Old City’s narrow streets and squares. An inside visit will be made to the Saint Peter Claver Church and Cloister, built in homage to the protector of slaves. You will view the remains of Saint Peter Claver, which are encased upon the High Altar. A brief stop will then be made under the huge trees in the cloister’s courtyard to see the well, used by Saint Peter Claver to baptize tens of thousands of black slaves. Following your visit, walk back to your coach for the return drive to the pier. Dress in weather-appropriate clothing. Wear flat comfortable walking shoes. The walking was not too much but allowed us to see some very pretty parts of the old town.
  4. This is an awesome benefit of Regent, and yes, it does make packing easier. Also the ability to get things pressed that may have gotten wrinkled in transit allows all Regent passengers to look their best from day one to the end of the cruise. The extra $100 OBC as gold isn’t bad either.
  5. Home location certainly plays a part in pricing of all flights. Insurance for trip cancellation etc. is part of my credit card, so less a worry than if your card doesn’t include these provisions. Many airlines are still including no change fees and even no charge cancellation. Definitely agree there is more than price to consider. We have just had excellent results using Regent’s “included air” program. Both using their flights and not (if you can use miles, all the better).
  6. Correction to post #6: Should be dot net Sorry
  7. You always have the choice of accepting Regent’s included business class air or making your own arrangements and reducing your fare by the stated air credit amount. For an upcoming Japan cruise, the Regent air credit was $5500 pp. We were able to book nonstop business class for $4300 pp. A nice savings of $2400. On the other hand for an Istanbul to Dubai cruise in November, the air credit is only $3600 pp. We can’t come close to matching that so will use Regent air.
  8. We had a private guide pick us up at the port, took us around BA for most of the day and delivered us to the airport for our flight to Iguazu Falls. Worked beautifully. If interested in her contact info, email me at chuckroby at prodigy dot com
  9. Glauriebee, it is painful just to read your account of this disaster. I know I would not have handled it well. I hope Regent will, in the end, makes things as right as possible.
  10. No, it is not. The Sheraton was renamed the Gran Melia Iguazu in 2018 after an extensive redo. We stayed at the Sheraton Iguazu for three nights after a 2015 cruise. Yes, it was a bit tired, but we really enjoyed our stay. Iguazu is not to be missed, it should be on everyone’s bucket list, IMO.
  11. We had a situation in November where the excursion list was not available until two days before we could book (one year out). There were some changes to the tours that were viewable on a port by port basis on the website.
  12. Hope you are enjoying your cruise. Is there anything unique/positive/negative/unexpected about 714? We have been on Navigator five times previously but will be spending 21 nights in 714 in November. Thanks.
  13. We are in 714 in November, Istanbul to Dubai. Please report how you find it to be, and leave her in good shape for us. Enjoy your cruise and thanks!
  14. You don’t have to be in good shape. My wife chose to just sit when the staff assigned positions in the boat. I was a “grinder” and got a workout. Highly recommend this excursion.
  15. We will be ending our rt Tokyo cruise in April but don’t fly out of Narita until 5 pm. For those who have had a similar situation, does Regent ever offer a tour after disembarkation the ends with a transfer to Narita airport?
  16. My experience on 10 Regent cruises is that, unfortunately, they rarely have any local beers on board.
  17. If you go to your cruise on rssc.com, right under Itinerary and Excursions, it says Click here to receive a list of all shore excursions…. When you click it will ask for your email address to receive the complete list. It comes as a pdf file. As a first time Regent cruiser you are getting earlier access to tour reservations as Concierge level versus a balcony suite. However, many Regent past cruisers also have access one year out. If you know in advance what tours you want to book and do so early in the booking period, you should have no problem getting what you want.
  18. How do you get so many pictures with no or few people in them? Beautiful photos.
  19. If you are so inclined, please join the roll call for this cruise.
  20. We always request our favorite spirits in our cabin ahead of time and we have never sailed in Penthouse or above Suite category. Can't remember the specifics, but we have done it online. They are always there waiting for us when we board.
  21. Had the same problem on the Explorer in January going through the canal. Frustrating there wasn’t a forward location to take pictures from.
  22. I would suggest scheduling the St. Maarten 12 Metre Yacht experience. Racing on authentic, slightly modified, America’s Cup yachts. It was one of the most fun things we have done while cruising. Google it and enjoy your day!
  23. One of the issues Seabourn (and their customers) will have to deal with will be what constitutes “elegant” jeans. Are my brand new Levi 505 jeans elegant? I wouldn’t think so, but others might contend they are. I would prefer that all diners in the MDR wore something nicer. Who will be the final arbiter? I just can’t foresee the maitre d asking anyone to change their jeans because they are not “elegant “ enough. On the other hand, jeans of almost any ilk should be acceptable for walking the dog to Seabourn Square. 😳
