Have booked a cruise for 2019, have few concerns re destination. Now seen a cruise I would prefer but not sure what the situation is regarding swapping. The preferred cruise costs more than the one booked. Just wondering if it's possible to make a change. Haven't enquired with TA yet thought I would ask here to see if any members have encountered a similar situation.
Thanks

Yes lots of gin varieties to choose from most about £15 Litre in supermarkets. Roll on September
-
I used to take a wine box on board equivalent to 3 75cl bottles of wine.. 1 bottle of wine allowed will mean only 75cl as I haven't seen litre bottles.. If we take a bottle of gin can we also take cans of tonic water ?

Someone may correct me, but I don't think you can spread it over 2 days, I think it's from when you start. Personally I take my tablet ashore and use the free wifi in most terminals or when I have a coffee.
if you purchase from 12 md you have access to 12md the next day. I preferred when you could by minutes and link with family over a period of days..(important when a family member at home is unwell) Also the cheaper package does not allow for emails.. The librarian said if I had £12.50 package I coukd download games - Oh yes like I want to spend my cruise time playing games. Not happy with this system I use wifi ashore too its often readily available in bars even if you have to buy a drink.
Just back from Caribbean and did'nt use it.

Something not right there. They have been issuing only biometric passports since Oct 2006 so don't know how this happened. I use to work in the Newport passport office. Does his passport look like the picture below. If it does, then it's bio metric. If for some reason it's not, the the passport office should replace if free of charge.

No it doesn't have the biometric icon and he was sent to the manual passport check at the airport. He will ring the passpprt office tomorrow. Sunny seas

I seem to remember reading that this restriction would be introduced sometime in 2016, a few years ago. I remember checking mine at the time and being happy I would be renewing it well before 2016; and since the new biometric passports were first introduced in 2006, with a 10 year life span it should only be affecting a small percentage of passport holders.
My sons passport had expired so he renewed it in March this year. It does not have achip , we only realised this when he joined the queue for the biometric passport at the airport on our return and was directed to the other desks as his didn't have a chip. He will contact the passport office just in case he wants to go to America. Can't understand how one so recent has no chip, mine is 8 years old and has one.

On our last 17night cruise in April there was 1 speaker, and 1 topic really with sessions spread over the duration, If you weren't interested in Concorde then that was it. Hubby went to the first couple but then got a bit bored with it. I didn't go to any as not my interest. It would have been nice to have a choice of topics although I appreciate they can't suit everyones interest.

How soon is information available on guest speakers and entertainers on a cruise.? We are sailing in 15 weeks time. Would have thought that celebrities would have been booked by now. We are on the first leg of the world cup from Southampton to Santiago.
Would be grateful for any info

I always use Wetherspoons for breakfast if it's not included in room rate.
Good idea thank you, will have to check its location to the Premier Inn

Thanks Bluemug, thats one to consider for future cruises. On this occasion we are flying back to Heathrow so won't need parking. Relatives taking us to Southampton, not sure about getting home from Heathrow yet but have a few options.

We are looking to book pre cruise stay in Southampton. I am sure many on this forum will be able to recommend places for us. We would also like to have a nice evening meal to start our holiday so would be grateful for any suggestions.
Cheers :D

We usually take wine boxes , easy to put in carry on bag. Nicely fits into fridge.

Totally agree, you see similar comments on lots of hotel reviews too. Its so easy to work around busy times it amazes me that when people complain about no tables etc they continue to go to the buffet at the same time every day.
We count ourselves extremely fortunate to have our health and financial means to see the world from the comfort of our ship, no time to moan, nothing is that important. Just ENJOY.
:D;)

I always make a packing list and tick things off as they go in the case. So often before I would wonder if I had put something in and then have to unpack to check.
enjoy your cruise

These are great! So every night you always had the option of chicken, steak or salmon from the classics section? This will please my fussy husband if so! :)
Except on the captains gala nights when the classic selection is not available, theres still plenty of choice though.

We are on the Arcadia in a couple of weeks time. First time on this ship so what do I need to know to make the most of her? :)
Our favourite ship, deck 3 you can walk all around , 3 times = a mile, but lovely for a stroll too.
Love the pub, feels like walking into a real pub through the doors, lovely traditional wall panelling.
Lots of places to sit quietly and read if you want. We never really seem to find the time but some people do.
Loads of outdoor space, not always near the pool but thats not our ideal place as it can get a bit crowded.
I think the theatre is amazing, well laid out and waiters there if you want a drink.
We enjoy some of the quizzes, the Syndicate quiz at 10.30 each night is good fun, joining a team with new friends is good.
Check the Horizon daily paper for all things going on day and night time as well as reataurant times etc.
As with other ships you can go to Art Classes, lectures/speakers, join the choir, dancing, shuffle board. Or relax and watch the world go by.
There should be plenty to suit all different tastes and preferences.
Most importantly plan to have a really good time whatever you choose to do.
Enjoy

Thanks Brian
Thats great news, we enjoyed East on previous cruises but like Sinduh even more.

I was on my cruise personaliser and checked out select dining options, only Ocean Grill was shown not East. Could be a glitch or has East gone West :D
