  1. I agree with DCThunder. You could check Princess Air when it becomes available, about 330 days before departure. That would be the same time frame for a TA or yourself.
  2. We must be really old. Our first cruise was on Royal Caribbean's the Song of Norway in 1980. Our first cruise with Celebrity was on the Galaxy in 1998 where we were upgraded (for free) to our first balcony cabin. That upgrade has cost us ever since. Tough to go back once you have had a balcony.
  3. I have used Princess Gift cards before and it only took minutes to get my emailed certificate with security code. However, I just used AARP Celebrity gift cards and it took 2 days to get my certificates. I think AARP might be holding on to the certificates until they are sure your payment has been accepted and they have received the funds in their account.
  4. To be honest I have not read all the comments but "Disney Cruise Line Bans Guests From Hiding Rubber Ducks" If Disney banned it why would Princess, with its limited number of kids as passengers, allow it?
  5. I would guess that you will need to fly to Whitter to join your mother. Wouldn't flying in the enclosed plane with 200 other people not wearing masks be just as bad as cruising?
  6. What happens if you do not have a cell phone to upload the app?
  7. Thank you for your quick review. We will be on her next December when she does her transatlantic. We are currently in a mini suite but not the reserve. Is an additional $1000 for the reserve worth it?
  8. Thank you for the preview to my upcoming cruise. Safe travels!
  9. Thank you for all of the great information. As mentioned earlier we have the suite below yours on the Dec 2 cruise and have been living vicariously through you posts until we sail. We have a couple of questions 1) do we need to have a separate card or does the medallion work to get into the concierge lounge and 2) while we are not vegan (some of the offerings look really good) can we mix and match some of the vegan items with regular menu items? Only 11 days until we sail.
  10. Please let me know if you find out what it is. I have the suite just below yours beginning on Dec 2 for two weeks. Also, whether it was fixed or stopped on its own.
  11. Emma, Thank you for all the information. We are sailing on the Sky for 14 days beginning Dec. 2nd. We also bid for a suite and were successful and will be staying in Premium suite B102, right below yours. This will be our first experience in a Princess suite and your info makes it sound wonderful.
  12. I tried reserving the specialty restaurant but could not complete the reservation without having my credit card charged. Will wait until onboard. Again, thank you all for your responses.
  13. Thank you for your quick responses. We cruise in 3 weeks, and this is one less thing we need to be concerned with.
  14. This is our first time staying in a suite. One of the suite benefits is “Complimentary Specialty Dining Dinner on embarkation evening.” How is this handled? Do we need to make a reservation, does Princess make the reservation for us, or do we just show up at the restaurant we want to eat at?
  15. Each time I have made a payment, thru my TA, I get a new invoice which shows what I have paid to date and what I owe. I would think/hope that would be sufficient.
  16. Did you get AARP gift cards? If yes what is the secret to getting 10 cards, I could only purchase 5 per month.
  17. I purchased 5 cards on Tuesday (8/29), no problems.
  18. I would like to see all cruise lines, not just Princess, change the terminology from "Gratuities" to "Service Charge" and make them mandatory. That would stop all these discussions.
  19. I cannot imagine the chaos that 2,000 passengers picking different benefits would cause.
  20. It is my understanding that if you and your wife are on one of the drink packages you will need both medallions, or her drink will count against your daily drink allotment. If that does not matter, then one medallion is fine.
  21. I tip for every "delivered" drink. If you are asking/requiring someone to go fetch you a drink and deliver it to you, then I feel they should be tipped extra for the service. I feel that the automatic tip placed on each drink order is simply part of the drink's cost.
