  1. Thanks to everyone for the information....very helpful.
  2. We are leaving in a few weeks from Barcelona and my Boarding Pass says "TBD" for the terminal where the ship will be. One rep at Regent said I have to call back one week before sailing to get the terminal location and another says they will email me with the terminal location. Just in case, can anyone tell me if there is a monitor or screen at the cruise terminal in Barcelona indicating the location of the ship. We are doing our own hotel pre cruise and thus not taking the Regent bus to the ship, so I would like to get as much information as possible since will be taking a taxi to the cruise terminal. Thanks in advance for any information that could be shared.
  3. I've got a cruise coming up and have completed all of the pre cruise information on my account. Only thing left is the online check-in. There is a date showing when this begins but no time --- unlike when shore excursions and specialty restaurant reservations opened --- which I believe was 8:00 p.m Eastern time. I received my luggage tags a few days ago and it just says online check-in any time from 21 days to 4 days before embarkation. I called Regent and one representative thought it opened at 8:01 p.m. at the 21 day mark and, when I called again, I was told any time beginning 21 days before embarkation -- right after midnight at the 21 day mark. I don't necessarily need the first slot for boarding on embarkation day, but don't want a time later in the afternoon either, so want to do the online check-in as early as possible to get what I hope will be a good time slot. I have read that people show up early regardless of their designated time so not sure how important this is, but I have not sailed Regent in several years, so looking for current information on how this works these days. Anyone with current experience that could tell my how it worked for them regarding the opening time to do online check-in would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. Since these cabins are under La Veranda, can anyone who has been in one of these cabins let me know if there was an issue with noise from La Veranda from above. Also, it appears from the deck plan that there may a crew station across cabins 1070 and 1071 (?), so I might want to avoid those cabins as well. Did not find anything on the "Seat Guru" thread for these cabins, so any information anyone could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Regarding the soundproofing issues between the cabins --- this is the second thread where several posters have made comments about hearing conversations / televisions, etc., on either side of their cabins. I'm beginning to think this is more the rule rather than the exception and, outside of earplugs --- if this is bothersome to folks -- I don't see what the short term solution is here. Actually, I don't think Regent would do anything to address this anyway --- too costly and disruptive to their sailing schedule. I will be on the Grandeur in a few months so will see what the problems in this regard might be. I will be among those bringing earplugs just in case. Just writing to confirm this is not a "one off" in just a few cabins and to set my expectations accordingly.
  6. Upon disembarking in Rome, I am assuming there will be plenty of taxis available to take us to the airport (actually a hotel just adjacent to the airport --- early flight next morning). I am also interested if anyone has used a reliable private transportation service from the pier to the airport they could recommend as well. Also, ship is due to dock in Rome at 6am ---- any estimates on the latest we could leave the ship? Thanks for any information you could share.
  7. Thanks for the replies....this is just the information I needed....
  8. I would like to book a cabin on Deck 8 but notice that many of them are under the pool area and Terrace Cafe. I once had a cabin under the pool deck and the noise from the moving of chairs, etc. was pretty constant and annoying. No experience with a cabin under restaurant or buffet area. I noticed on the deck plan for the Nautica that cabins 8000 and 8002 look like a good choice to alleviate noise from above as it appears that the Spa and Card Room are above these cabins. If anyone has stayed in either of these cabins I would appreciate your comments regarding any noise issues from above. Thanks
  9. I see some people are mentioning specific cabin numbers regarding the noise issue...just curious if anyone in cabin 727 has had any issues with noise from cabins on either side?
  10. I have been following this thread in anticipation of our upcoming Grandeur sailing next year and appreciate everyone's input regarding the ship. It sounds really nice and quite spectacular in many respects. One concern, however, are the comments about the thin walls between the cabins and people being able to hear the conversations on either side of them. While not a deal breaker, per se, we had this issue on a Navigator sailing we were on several years ago and it was (at least for me) somewhat annoying. Is it really as noticeable as many are saying? Not discounting what others have said, but if it is a problem throughout the ship between the cabins I just want my expectations to be adjusted accordingly. I have not heard of this being mentioned on the Splendor or Explorer so was surprised to hear of it on this new ship. Thanks for any additional feedback anyone would like to offer.
  11. I agree this is confusing. The cruise I am looking at is the same price as the Black Friday sale (extended to December 15 with the normal T&C's plus $1000 OBC) as the save 35% non-refundable promotion w/out the OBC. No way would I book this new promotion at the current offering. Too many things could happen this far out if I was looking at a cruise many months away (which I am) even with the insurance I always get. Their latest promotions always seem to be getting extended, so I wonder how may people are taking advantage of them.
  12. Could anyone who has disembarked in New York tell me how it went? I hope somewhat better than Miami, which can oftentimes be problematic. We are on a sailing that arrives at 7:00 a.m. in New York (I believe at the Manhattan terminal). Allowing for customs clearance, etc., does a 2:00 flight from LaGuardia airport sound reasonable? If I looked at the right source, it appears we are the only ship disembarking on that day. Thanks in advance for any information that anyone can provide.
  13. Does anyone have an idea when 2025 itineraries will be released? Perhaps someone on current Serenity sailing has an update? Thanks in advance.
  14. Does anyone know if this time frame is also for Endeavor sailings as well? I was hoping to see the balance of Spring 2025 Endeavor sailings as well as Summer 2025 soon. Thanks
  15. We will be completing our online check-in in a few days for our upcoming cruise. I remember reading awhile back that we had to upload a recent picture to complete online check-in in order to select a boarding time and get our boarding passes. Can anyone tell me if this is still correct? I also seem to also remember reading recently that they do not require us to upload the picture for the online check-in procedure as so many people were having difficulty with this....and that they would then just take our pictures at embarkation. Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.
  16. Does anyone have any idea when the remainder of the Queen Anne itineraries for 2025 will be released? Looking forward to seeing what they will be like. Also, I think it has been determined that there will not be a wrap-around walking / jogging space similar to their other ships....is that correct? Thanks for any information that can be provided.
  17. We have 2 cruises booked....the first one (Nov 2023) shows up as future / booked cruises on our Account Page. The second one (August 2024) does not (we made the deposit several weeks ago and have all of our confirmations, etc.). I noticed on the Accounts page, that I could input information (cruise date, ship, etc.) to add another future /booked cruise to our account.....but shouldn't Regent be adding that automatically as they have all the required information to do so? Or, should I just add it myself so that it shows as a future booked cruise? Seems strange that the customer should have to do that. When we booked the November 2023 cruise (over a year ago) it showed up on our account as soon as the deposit was made. Am I missing something here? Any others have this issue? Thanks
  18. We have taken many cruises but this will our first on Oceania --- Riviera cruise June of this year. When can we reasonably expect to receive our cruise documents? Also, is it correct that from 21 days up to 72 hours before the cruise we do an online check-in to select a boarding time? Thanks in advance for the information.
  19. Thanks to everyone for your responses --- very much appreciated as we make a decision on this sailing.
  20. We have been on several cruises but never on Viking --- nor a cruise itinerary with so many sea days all in a row. We think Viking might be a good fit for us and would like to see Hawaii and feel a cruise of this nature is the best way, for us at least, to do so. Can anyone tell us what to expect on all these sea days in the way of activities, enrichment lectures, etc? A copy of a daily activity sheet would also be appreciated if anyone has one handy. Also, is Viking's policy always to require final payment so far ahead of the cruise --- in this case a full 18 months before the sail date. Thanks for any information that could be provided.
  21. We will be booking a flight from the Miami Airport after disembarking from a Transatlantic sailing and wondering if the time we are looking at --- a 1:40 p.m. departure -- sounds like it would give us enough time to comfortably make the flight. We have heard that sometimes there are delays both in getting off the ship in Miami and very crowded at the Miami airport as well, so just want to be prepared as to what we might expect. Our second to last port on the cruise is Puerto Rico and I remember reading at some point that they do some type of immigration check there for all passengers. That being the case, does it save some time once we depart in Miami? Any information would be appreciated...thanks.
  22. Very much enjoyed another of your great travel adventures! Reminded us of prior Mediterranean cruises we have been on --- makes us want to book another one. The music fit the video perfectly as well. Looks like you had great weather. May I ask what time of year this was? Again, thanks for taking the time and effort to do this video --- lots of fun to watch!
  23. We have been on many cruises but never Oceania. We are very much looking forward to a sailing next June on the Riviera which is very port intensive with lots of interesting shore excursions. We are taking the shore excursions option for OLife and have done the math regarding which excursions qualify, taking the most expensive (up to the allotted dollar amount) for the OLife benefit, with 25% off for the rest of the excursions--- which have some OS excursions in the mix as well. My question is how best to book these excursions. Should we just call Oceania and have them do it to ensure the costs are computed correctly or book them online under our cruise reservation account? If doing it online, will it automatically compute the savings with the correct total cost as well? Thanks for any assistance anyone could provide.
  24. I thought I understood the new COVID testing requirements from September 3 onward and that only for Greece, Bermuda and Canada did one still have to test negative within a specific number of days before boarding a cruise going to or embarking from those ports. Now, when I search embarkation requirements for Spain, it specifically says that for cruises of 9 days or more that you do need to test negative within 2 days of boarding in Barcelona. I know there have been lots of threads regarding this issue, but if anyone has current information on requirements when leaving from Barcelona I would appreciate it. Regent is still telling me that you only need to be fully vaccinated with boosters to board (without taking a test) when boarding in Barcelona --- which was my understanding --- knowing that things could, of course, change with little advance warding. Thanks
  25. Not to make this too confusing but I have read that current policy for Spain is when boarding a cruise ship in Barcelona that, if the cruise is 9 days or longer, you must have a negative covid test taken within 2 days of boarding. I was under the impression that, under new guidelines, as long as you were vaccinated and current with your boosters, you would be able to board without taking the covid test to board. I'm in the US if this makes any difference but I don't think that makes the requirements any different (?). Anyone boarding in Barcelona within the next few days / weeks have any experience with the requirements? I know this is constantly changing and we are getting really tired of all this but best to know beforehand and avoid any surprises at embarkation. Thanks for any help that can be offered.
