I can understand your point, but most of these problems exist throughout the industry both on ships and on land.  I would list the following; the need to step up into the bathroom (I guess this is due to the need for space for the pipes, but it is easy to miss the step in the middle of the night), the seating is too low except for the dining areas (I find it difficult to get u from a seat where my knees at an angle greater that ninety degrees).

Just got of Mariner on our b/b Oct 3/ Oct 25. Myself, 6’4. Suite couch’s we very difficult for getting up from. Some of the lounges even worse. Better suited for shorter people, though I was in a minority. You’re generous with the age group. More like 75+ in my opinion. Believe it will be sometime until new refit of furniture.

I'm with both of you.  I am longing to book a cruise, and I look at the late 2021 and 2022 itineraries a lot, with real yearning.  But we are not going to spend a dime right now until we see the lay of the land (or the sea I guess).  And that most likely won't be until next spring at the earliest.

Oh yes, and isn't it civil here lately?

Very civil, but may be deleted for commenting on it.

What an insulting & demeaning comment - maybe even ignorant.

I hope it & my response will be deleted.

If you want to have a positive influence on this forum, you go first in posting respectful comments.

This thread is not about Regent or how much you know about Regent. It is informed by the intelligence & interest of the posters & readers in trying to understand what is happening with the COVID crisis. If that doesn't fit you, don't read it.

I hope all you well informed people keep posting. I, for one, am an interested reader even though I am a newbie.

Thanks to all for your constructive comments.

First sentence. All three. Consider the source. With all due respect.🙄

  5. DW & I were booked on the Oct 5-12 b2b, Mariner, my fav. Mexico and around.

It would seem that this cruise may still sail. Would be interested in pax views still booked on this cruise. Any thoughts on current, I do not like the term, restrictions, but some may well be into effect on this cruise.

I did cancel this one before final payment. Back in May. Deposit refunded almost immediately. Used 200 for Jan.
Have a booked cruise, before all this has happened, 1/26/21 b2b with 2/5/21. Splendor, first time. I do hope this sails, with less restrictions. Plus, 1000.00 OBC per segment. Read, nice wines.😀 We are usually a single couple, unless good times in the lounges. Then, maybe a dinner shared.
I want to cruise, but I want everybody to be safe, and enjoy their Regent experience, as it should be.

We have about $75K plus $45K FCC’s  “tied up” with Regent” and the only people I am screaming at are people that do not understand the situation.  Actually, I’m not really screaming - just trying to reason.

As a reminder, we were one of the people on the March 14th cruise that was cancelled 24 hours before embarkation.  That sailing was almost 100% Regent repeat customers.  It was devastating.  I’m taking it out on my luggage that I refuse to unpack.  In any case, I have not seen anger from passengers on that sailing.  Tears - yes but not anger.  Just an interesting observation.

What I truly do not understand is canceling a cruise when waiting a month would have entitled them to a refund (plus paying it off in full).

However, you are as entitled to be angry and bash Regent as much as I am entitled to defend them.
However, not all of us are able to afford the luxury of unlimited K’s. Some need their money to live on, not “tied up
“ with Regent. A little insensitive.

I did not say that my knowledge of Regent has anything to do with financials.  I would never even want to discuss private issues with people at Corporate or officers onboard a ship - it is none of my business.

As many posters know, we spend a lot of time interacting with officers and crew (when they are not busy - work comes first) on Regent ships.  I've tried to absorb as much information as possible from them as well as from other passengers (mostly cruising friends since we are not particularly social with strangers).   Regent is a hobby - one that I have tried to learn as much about as possible in order to answer questions from "newbies".

So, trying again, what can Regent do to entice passengers to come back on board that does not require lowering fares or unnecessarily affecting their bottom line?  Let Regent tell us. Not an admitted “cheerleader”.

Thank you - I agree!  BTW, when I spoke of taking our own pillowcases, we would not leave it on the bed for the steward(ess) to change.  I would remove it and send it in for washing when needed.

The more people are aware and take precautions, the better we will all be!

Why just the pillow cases? How about the sheets too?

I did not say that Explorer (and now all of the ships) are in "code red".  I said that it was similar to what they do in a code red situation! with food being served by the crew (buffets and likely the Coffee Connection).  The ship is also being cleaned more than under "normal" circumstances.

Sorry for the misinterpretation. I guess I missed the word “similar” in you’re original post of “code red” type measures.

Like your style Bill. I believe you are sailing on Explorer in January. Will miss you by a couple of weeks. Booked for the two week cruise over Super Bowl on Explorer. Love cruising on Regent somewhere during Super Bowl. You can call me weird.
