  1. Apologies you’re right, I’ve got a couple of refunds I’m chasing, one with flight only, one with package, and I got the two mixed up! So yeah, I might just be patient and wait it out to get the full perks of credit and refund... thanks for the reply!
  2. If anyone has been following the saga of Virgin Holidays, they have a lot of frustrated customers, and they continue to move the goalposts for receiving refunds, now saying 120 days, but continuing to employ various delay tactics as that time approaches. Chargebacks with banks are being recommended, given this considerably breaches the law that holiday packages should be refunded within 7 days. I’ve been considering this, but as we are due a future cruise credit from Virgin Voyages, in addition to the cash refund, I’m assuming this would be in jeopardy if the refund was achieved via a chargeback rather than going through Virgin’s own refund process... does anyone have any experience with this?

  5. Someone has posted on Facebook (apologies, don’t know what their source is)... As our most important partners, we wanted to update you first about our recent decision to postpone our sailings through October 15th, 2020 — which your Sailors will be notified about on Thursday, May 21. We’ve been working hard to find a way to set sail by August, but that hasn’t turned out to be possible. We appreciate how many of your Sailors were excited to sail with us, so we understand how disappointing this news is. But we trust you and your Sailors will understand our decision given the evolving global health challenge we’re all up against. As of right now, our first sailing is planned for October 16th, 2020, and we’ve rescheduled the Richard’s Birthday Bash sailing for July 14th, 2021. This sailing will still be a once in a lifetime experience for us to have fun, while also continuing our tradition of doing business for good. To make up for these changes, we’re offering the most flexible and fair options out there for your Sailors. For first-time canceled Sailors, we’ll be auto-crediting double the amount they’ve paid to date toward their voyage fare. And if they book their next sailing before June 30th, we’ll give them up to $500 to spend on board. If they’d prefer a refund, you can call or email us anytime between May 21st and December 31st, 2020. Please know that if a Sailor contacts us directly, we will honor their request and you will still be tied to their booking. For Sailors who have already received the full 200% in Future Voyage Credit, they will get to keep it. But, if they’d prefer, instead of the 200% Future Voyage Credit, we can refund the full paid amount along with a Future Voyage Credit equal to 25% of the paid voyage fare that can be used on a future sailing.

  7. I can’t see us being able to fly in from the UK by then unfortunately... even if the cruise does sail. Continuing to play the waiting game though...
  8. I asked the question on chat just now... Me: One final question, the Birthday Bash no longer appears to be on sale on the website. Has it sold out, or are you pausing taking any new reservations at the moment due to the current environment? Sailor Services Crew: As we continue to closely monitor the news and CDC advisories, we are reviewing new guidelines for the cruise industry and will update our Sailors and First Mates this week if there is an impact to any of our sailings. With that, we have put a hold on selling any cabins on Richard's Birthday Bash until we can finish that review.
  9. ah okay. No need, I’m currently booked for the Birthday Bash already, was just interested to hear it’d vanished and thought I’d have a nosey...
  10. Looks like they’ve stopped selling completely to me - 0 voyages coming up when I hit the ‘book’ button...
  11. Done it again to be safe and this time the receipt looks complete. Also mentions how to check the future credit balance, which the previous email didn’t. Hopefully I don’t go right back to the bottom of the list of submissions... are they working through in sail date order does anyone know?
  12. And did that one come back better? It’s been over 2 weeks since I did my original one...
  13. It was emailed to me as part of confirmation of our cruise being cancelled.
  14. Hoping it won’t void my first one and put me back to the end of the line...
  15. Just wondered if anyone else has come across this? I completed the compensation request form for my cancelled cruise, but the email receipt I received in return, whilst confirming my name and contact details correctly, has blanks next to sail date, ship name and booking number. Trying to decide whether I should resubmit the request again, or if it’s not a problem...
