The festival has much more than jazz. There are two large main stages, a gospel,a blues and a jazz covered stages, a local stage for the social Mardi Gras Indians. A r&b stage
And a Cajun zydeco stage. We've seen willie Nelson, Van Morrison, galactic, jimmy buffet, b b king, plus. Check out the website

Reading the website it says it includes "reservations" in one of their specialty restaurants. Does this mean that they simply make a reservation and the dining charge will be in addition to the package price?
Yes, we did this on the Eclipse for my birthday in April. We chose Murano. DW had lobster and I wanted Chateau Briand, the waiter served me the full two person serving. It was awesome. The Dom was chilled and opened in our room but we took the bottle to the restaurant. Btw the label on the bottle lit up by a switch on the bottom. Odd but interesting. Roses were fresh and did last as stated previously.

It's a round booth/kiosk just outside the adult pool. No seats or stools. Last cruise it was seldom open. On other cruises I found they made a pina colada with nutmeg, a key ingredient for a drink called a pain killer , last April never saw them open to get one

Saint Greg,
I sure could use your expertise. I am trying to boo a hotel for my parent but am completely unfamiliar with NOLA. Here are there needs. 1 night stay Check in Oct 15th, safe neighborhood, free breakfast and free parking would be great. Nice hotel would be great, budget would be $90-130.
I think I have read where you have mentioned Fulton for parking. Is there a website, address or any other detail would be so helpful!
A great big thanks in advance completely lost right now and the rates just seem to be going up.
Try the Drury Inn on Poidrus

Look up Trikes Aruba before you book. It is a real hoot of a time. Lots of video and pictures on their site.

The tags from "the printer" are only as good as your own personal printer and the quality of paper that you buy!
If I feel that I am worried about the quality then I would laminate them or at least strengthen them with sticky tape.
If you are getting to the port yourselves, not using a method were the tags need to be seen before then to cull you bags, the port side handlers will make you tags there. If however you are using Celebrity transportation direct from the airport invest in some wide clear packing tape to put on the self printed tags. Our last cruise we never received the requested tags from celebrity.

I have two $25 Celebrity gift cards from ERewards or so where like that. Has anyone been successful in redeeming those? On last cruise they wouldn't take them for either obvious nor for a booking we made on the ship.

When I booked the cruise with Celebrity agent she sent me the tours for the whole cruise. There wasn't much on it for the three days in NOLA. and nothing tied to 'fest. There was Oak ally and a 'Quarter pub crawl. Also a riverboat Jazz ride. A swamp tour too. NOLA is a good tourist town so there are a lot of tours in and around. There's a tour shop in the Quarter and sites that list tours.

If I remember correctly there are no bedside plugs...
We are in a CC...
Sailing this time with CPAP.
Advice welcome. My guess is to NOT send the CPAP through with the luggage:eek:
There is a form you can fill out on the Celebrity website to get distilled H2O and a cord reserved. Look in the FAQ:Can Celebrity accommodate my special medical needs
Absolutely. We welcome guests with disabilities and special needs and work hard to make sure you experience your best vacation ever. You'll be able to book accessible staterooms, and take advantage of the pool, the casino, the Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, the shows, the restaurants and bars through special accommodations throughout the ship.
Please note the ability to accommodate guests with special needs aboard Celebrity Xpedition® is limited. This ship does not have an elevator or accessible staterooms. Also, there is very little wheelchair accessibility on the Galapagos Islands and service animals are not permitted in the Galapagos National Park.
Check here for more information. To receive appropriate assistance, be sure to notify our Access Department via email or fax 1-954-628-9622.

Can anybody recommend any good excursions... we are doing an over night stop. These are the ones that caught my attention, just don't know how to choose. I am wanting to do more then 1.
A Taste of Cartagena
Afternoon Historical Old City Walking Tour
Best of Cartagena
Amazing Cartagena: Bay and Walled City
Also... how difficult is it to get a cab and go to the walled city and just wander around?
We booked a terrific private tour with Claudia Vidal [claudia@toursclaudiavidal.com] a year ago on the Equinox. We visited the town, the church of St Peter Claver and also the Church high on the hill. Being Catholic it was very enlightening. I recommend her .

We did the British Isles on the Azamara Journey in late August 2012. I was a grand trip. Scotland was beautiful as was all of the other stops.

DH & I are researching some options for our next family vacation. We thought we'd return to DCL but they are really pricing us out of their cruises.
We are a family of 5 with a 12, 9 & 7 year old. Our oldest & youngest have high functioning autism, but did pretty well on our DCL cruise over April vacation week (it was crazier than the parks at Christmas!). The kids LOVE the clubs, shows & hanging by the pool. We only do beach excursions off the ship. My son is pretty picky about food, but the girls are both adventurous. I am gluten free, but am pretty easily accommodated with a piece of chicken or fish & a veggie.
We have some questions about Celebrity we're hoping someone can answer.
I read up on the Autism accommodations on the website, which is very encouraging!
So few lines have family suites or rooms that accommodate 5, so we usually book connected staterooms. I'm having a hard time finding those on the Celebrity ships. Any other options you know of for 5 sailing together with these ages?
Gluten free food. Yay! Or Nothing special?
Kids clubs on vacation weeks or late summer dates to Bermuda? Crazy/stay away? Or if we survived DCL it'll be ok?
Pools? Is there a kids pool on some ships? How about adult only areas?
How is the coffee?
Finally, anyone do the NJ to Bermuda cruise? We (DH & I) are booked on NCL out of Boston this August for our 15th anniversary. We can cruise concierge on Celebrity for the same price we're paying for NCL. We do have a beverage package for free & don't need parking as we live 1 hour away, but something about Celebrity seems more relaxing & low key than any other line we've cruised. Thoughts?
Celebrity ships do have connecting rooms. and a couple family suites. I think you would enjoy a RCL ship better but Celebrity is a class act. Our daughter sailed with us when she was younger, now 29. The Summit is a great ship. We have sailed on it twice but not the Bermuda run.

Probably not. I bought the 3 specialty dinner package and on-line I can only schedule the first one when I bought the discounted package. I did use the site to schedule all nights of select dinner times. I will then schedule the three package dinners once on the ship. There will be staff set up in conspicuous spots to do arranging. I suggest that someone from your party have all the cabin numbers of your party go see one of those reps and get your dates and times.

Are dark blue dress jeans allowed in the dining room?
Is shampoo provided ?
How is the onboard coffee ? It can't be worse than Carnival and Royal Caribbean !!!
Thanks
The dress code has relaxed over the years, especially for the shorter cruises. Now that the formal nights have morphed into chic nights the dress jeans and shirt or blouse would be prevalent. :)
Yes there will be shampoo soap and conditioner in the bath. Also there will be a hair dryer in the cabin.:)
I usually have a beverage package that includes espresso etc. in the MDR or from the coffee bar on floor 5. My wife also enjoys the teas.

My son has hooked me on Moscow Mules. Do celebrity ships carry ginger beer? I did an online search and didn't see ginger beer addressed. Thanks!
They carry Gosling's ginger beer and their rum too for Dark and Stormys and use the ginger beer for mules. The classic package cocktails list a "rum Mule" so that assumes it should cover both with rum or vodka
ADVICE NEEDED - taxis from Miami Port to Airport
