  1. In 2013 we got off the ship and there was a guy we paid to take us around. Was the best money we ever spent. But I have no idea if they still have people. I was back in 2015 and 2017 but can't recall if people were there to do that. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  2. They are the same ones you buy online. Just check your sailings and ship the weeks before you get on. Like I said on the POA in December ncl had changed how they did it and I couldn't get a package. They never ran the specials. Even though I had always bought once on board. 3. Is it free just for haven or for anyone on the first day? Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  4. And prepurchase them. In December I didnt prepurchase because I always bought the package on the ship and was unable to get a photo package. Had to buy a photo book to get the digitals. This cruise I plan to buy it before I board :) Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  5. I've been to Alaska several times, so the last time we went we went around into all the shops and got the free charms. We made it somewhat of a game to see how many we could get. The charms were free. We also would use all the coupons given to us at the port and on the ship and would try to get the best discounts. We went to stores that we wouldn't normally and made it a fun activity. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  6. I meant to write you yesterday and say hi (remembered the username from back in the day) and can't believe we will miss each other by a month! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
  7. Us too! I love getting a coat in Alaska. I just had to get rid of my last one, so I am due at the perfect time. And every cruise is what you make of it. So many complaints are things that could either have been avoided with proper planning (i.e researching the destination or ship) or by making a request or complaint while still on board. If you need more towels, don't sit all mad in your room all day, call housekeeping. When we booked the POA I was really nervous reading the reviews and that was one of our favorites trips ever. So we booked it again the following year. Not sure if it will be the same for the Joy, but we are giving her a chance. Read the reviews and be prepared for some of what it says, but also be mindful that your cruise and vacation are what you make of it. Be prepared to be flexible and you will be just fine :)
  8. Actually it wont, it travels out to sea on way back. And rarely do both sides see the same thing...ie backtracking. I've been on both sides and starboard is definitely the better side. You're still going to see gorgeous scenery on the port side but having had port side last time (after two starboard) we booked the starboard for our upcoming cruise. But could be my preference. 9. We found the star cagney's to be one of our worst speciciatly dining experiences ever. They didnt even refill our water after many requests. This was March 2018. But the jewel and POA have been fantastic. Hoping the joy will be on par with those. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
