  1. One night we have a dinner ressie at Trattoria Ai Cacciatori
  2. I believe you are correct and that is what I was told. We board next Monday.
  3. Thank you. We have been to Venice before and have seen all the tourist hot spots and crowds so this trip we will just walk around and take in the sights.
  4. We are boarding the Nova this Monday and I will try to share some of our experiences with this new ship. If anybody else is on the same cruise, please feel free to chime in. I will TRY and answer any questions, time permitting. We fly out this Friday morning. We used SS business air and I am pleased so far with the routing. We fly Tucson, AZ to Dallas/Fort Worth to Philadelphia and then direct to Venice. I am so glad we aren't going through Heathrow as that is always a challenge. We booked through SS two nights pre-cruise at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice and we have not stayed there before and it looks lovely. We are having dinner at La Dame on the first night and I will report on the dinner and was it worth the $320 per couple. Time to finish up some business and check our packing. Bon Voyage!!
  5. I love a nice Armani dress shirt. It goes great with an Armani sports coat!!
  6. I'll drink to that!! Actually next Monday I will do that.
  7. As most of you know, the dress codes, whatever they are. affect men a lot more than women. It is the guys that may or not have to wear a tie or a jacket and not the ladies. Since we don't always know what gender is responding, maybe a hint would help. Ladies are essentially excluded from the problem as they can almost wear almost anything and still fit in on the dress codes. I'm a guy and I would rather not wear a tie but I am OK with a jacket some nights unless the restaurant is warm and then the jacket comes right off. If a lady says ties should be worn, that is different that a guy stating that. One gender is committed and the other is observing.
  8. I am hoping that somebody currently on the Nova will post about their dinner in La Dame. We shall see. I am having dinner there a week from today!!
  9. My Bad as I just found this- • Gentlemen dining at La Dame restaurants are required to wear a jacket.
  10. Here is the email explaining the new dress code. There us no mention of La Dame in the email. If you have something else, please share. 11. Having seen the menu and comments from another website, it looks like La Dame for $160 per person is the same experience as La Dame for $60 per person. We are dining there next week and SS has respected the old price for us since we made the ressies before the new price was announced. I will report back but it sure looks like the same old, same old for an extra $200 per couple. If this is true, I will not eat there at the new and improved price. Let me do the math- cruise prices have gone up in 2024 and 2025 and now they want to charge us a lot more for the same experience in La Dame and Kaiseki??? I will report back after our La Dame dinner on the Nova.
  12. As was so aptly stated in a prior post, SS has done the research and the Nova (and Ray) will be the test cases. The rest of the ships will follow. Clearly the majority of affluent cruisers want "country club casual) like Regent and Seabourn or SS would not have made the change.
  13. Just to repeat my starting post, now on the Silver Nova, men can wear slacks with a jacket (sports coat) and no tie. Some people may not consider this dressy but the times are a changing!! What SS is "selling" seems to be evolving.
  14. Below is the email from SS regarding honoring our La Dame reservations. I will post how the dinners we felt about the dinners! Hello Alfred, I have just received notice regarding our request. Your reservations have been confirmed for both of your voyages. La Dame has been confirmed for August 21, 23, and 29. The reservations will not show in the booking activities page as it was specifically approved by the manager onboard. November reservations are confirmed and reflect in your booking. The price of $60 per person will be honored onboard. I hope you enjoy your cruise! Best Regards, Michael Michael Moya | Reservations - The Americas Silversea Cruises
  15. In past SS cruises, we have received our luggage tags at the SS hotel before the cruise. Today we received an overnight package with our luggage tags for the 8-21-23 Nova cruise to our home address. I just thought I would share this.
  16. I have not seen anywhere that the price is $60 or $160 with upgraded wines.
  17. Since I started this thread, I wanted to update folks with some new updates. A week or two ago, I had sent Barbara M. an email regarding the new upcharge and the fact that we had already confirmed La Dame on the 8-21-23 cruise for two nights at $60 per person upcharge and now it is showing $160 per person. I just received an email from somebody at SS to let me know they are working on respecting the original price. I will post when I get a final answer. I will try and post my review of the new La Dame dinner and see if it is really worth $320 for us. Hello Alfred, I am reaching out to you regarding your dinner reservations onboard the Nova for your upcoming voyages. The request has been seen and we are working on respecting the original price and the dinner times. Once completed I will be reaching back out to inform you. Thank you for your continued support of Silversea. Best Regards, Michael Michael Moya | Reservations - The Americas Silversea Cruises
  18. I posted the entire email- there was nothing else.
  19. Since we are boarding the Nova on 8-21-23, "I'll drink to that!!"
  20. I for one am not confused. I received an email from SS 10 days before we leave home and I can pack accordingly. I am going to take a tie but probably will not wear it
