  1. Has anyone looked at the Medallion app to see when the first formal night might be? We don't sail until December, but I thought for sure the second sea day would be formal night and my app is showing the Champagne Waterfall the first day on Monday night? I need to rearrange some things if it is on Monday and would rather do it now than on the ship. Thanks for any help!
  2. We love Elua and Dave! We've been on two cruises with them. They have moved stateside from what I gather from Dave's Facebook posts. Occasionally he posts about a cruise, but not often anymore. You can search on FB for Tiki Dave.
  3. So happy to see that they have a Nobile di Montepulciano by the glass!! It's one of our favorites. So much so that we often bring a bottle onboard to have at Sabatini's. That will save us some room in the suitcase! We get the Premier package, so prefer by the glass.
  4. Wow! Lucky you! I've done the same thing and not had any luck.
  5. Most ships are back to sailing full these days. It's not like 2 years ago when they were sailing at 50-60%. I doubt that you would be successful asking for an upgrade upon embarkation. Even in May 2022 when we asked, they had apparently had no rooms because they said they would let us know, and we never heard from them. You should look for a sign that says sailing full (or something like that) during embarkation to see if it is. You ask at the Passenger Services desk upon embarkation.
  6. I have asked about the sugar free desserts on the buffet. They had to go find one of the chefs that made it. He had to go find the box/bag with the ingredients on it. Seems that they all have one of the sugar alcohols (not common ones either) in place of sugar. This was 3-4 years ago, but I believe it's probably the same now. I have to limit sugar alcohols as they can cause intestinal distress depending on type and amount, but I have one if it looks appealing a couple of times a cruise.
  7. I wish that we had figured this all out before we booked our room, but we booked right after they opened up availability so we just picked our room for location. I would have preferred having the sofa near the cabana rather than the bed, and never even realized that you could figure out direction of travel to match the room until you mentioned it. By now, it's too late to change our room as there are few Reserve Cabana Mini-suites and none left.
  8. tiggerr, Thanks. It's funny that I've seen that picture before and never thought about the fact that the balcony would be open to all the decks above. We are also booked into a Reserve Cabana MiniSuite next fall on deck 9. We generally have avoided the Dolphin mini suites on Grand class ships for this very reason. I guess I was so excited to have one of these rooms that I overlooked this. I do think that we will end up spending more time in the Cabana part especially during the transatlantic part. Hopefully the other perks of the Reserve room and location will make up for the open balcony.
  9. Hmm.. I hadn’t seen that they were exposed except for maybe the ones that open on to the Reserve sun deck. Where did you see that they were all open to higher decks? It’s hard to find info on these new rooms.
  10. The email was specific to the new ships, Sun and Star Princess, which will have Signature suites I believe.
  11. I'm not convinced that what we see on Princess.com is the total availability all the time. So if someone above you gets an offer above them which opens up one above you. All move up one game! LOL!
  12. I would guess it's for the Chef's Table which on the newer ships is round and has a crystal curtain surrounding it. Looks like here they have a wall for privacy. Or maybe some new kind of dining experience like Chef's Table?
  13. Have you looked at the Roll Calls? There is an active one for the maiden transatlantic for the Sun Princess and the cruise just before that. They already have a dinner planned before boarding for each and a large spreadsheet with everyone's info plus plans for various game groups and some early planning for excursions. It has more activity than my next cruise leaving in 3 months!
  14. Online at the Cruise Personalizer on one of our cruises, it lists us having both Plus and Premier benefits, but I am sure that just means that we have Premier. Make sure you scroll down far enough as they list Plus first and it freaked me out at first when I saw that.
  15. When or if they ever send us a new catalogue with next year's cruises and ships, those have symbols to indicate 3 or 3/4. I was surprised when I just looked that it isn't included on the online deck plans. Maybe a cruise travel agency has deck plans online with symbols? Not sure.
  16. Yes, when I got onboard, I was able to book the remaining two blow outs. It all worked out.
  17. I've tried phone apps and I can hear the loops and it bothers me. I finally found what I think is the best ever! 'Lectro Fan has all unique, digitally synthesized and non-looping noise. Be sure if you get one not on their website that it includes the warranty as most sites don't. Obviously takes up some room in a suitcase as opposed to your phone, but I think it's so much better and doesn't run down your phone (apps make my phone hot too).
  18. I have a sound machine that is amazing and takes the place of a fan, but not anywhere as big. Our cruise two weeks ago, we were over Club Fusion and never even heard drum beats. I also travel with my own latex pillow, but it is highly compressible and our Away luggage has a compression side to it, so pretty much no matter what is in that side, I can compress it to take my pillow.
  19. My husband prefers to always get the Premier package for many reasons, but one of those reasons is that he doesn't have to stand and help me narrow down the pictures to only 5 or 10. We just get all the digital ones automatically. Though we do have to pic the 3 hardcopies for each of us, it's not so critical as we have the digital ones. I do digital scrapbooking, so I love having all the shots for my cruise scrapbook.
  20. I don't know who promised that, but I don't think it's true. If you read all the info available, it says only Reserve Cabana rooms will have access to the Reserve Restaurant and the Reserve deck. We studied all the information and deck plans because the Future Cruise Specialist onboard the Ruby in March also thought that and booked us in a CA room. When I got home and did more research, we switched to a C2 and lost $600 onboard credit as the promotion had expired, but that's how much we believe it to be true. I have seen videos saying all kinds of things, but I don't think they know what they are talking about. Obviously the Future Cruise Specialist didn't know the difference either! It's almost impossible to find anyone that really knows. They just recently changed the language on the Princess site to make it clearer about the Cabana mini suites. It now says: "Enjoy Reserve Collection upgrades on select Cabana Mini-Suites. In addition to the great amenities found in all Cabana Mini-Suites, you will receive Reserve Collection upgrades, including access to the Reserve Collection Restaurant." I wish you luck and hope you get what you want.
  21. We are in a reserve Cabana room in front of the Cabana deck, so we are also hoping the renders are not correct as we like to look down at the water.
  22. CC article said the Caymus Vineyards Winemaker Dinner was supposed to start on all ships by the end of April. Has no one tried it yet? Posting this as I'd really like to hear more about it, though the Chef's Table costs less and seems very similar except for name brand wines. Caymus Winery happens to be one of the wineries we chose to visit on a private excursion on our next cruise, so at least we'll get a chance to see if we even like the wines.
  23. We sailed out of SF on the Caribbean Princess the end of April 2022 and there was only a line because people arrived at 10am and they didn't let people in until closer to 11am. The line was just to the end of the building and moved swiftly once they opened the doors. That must have been just weeks after your cruise, so there is not always a line.
  24. Although online it only showed guarantees, when I called our travel agent, she saw multiple rooms available. There is just something wrong with the online booking engine. Sometimes when it shows only guarantees, I change to 3 passengers and all of a sudden, there are rooms everywhere!! Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until after I had chosen this year's summer/spring cruise. All the Alaska cruises wouldn't show any rooms, so we went with another cruise. I am kind of mad as when I eventually learned to try 3 passengers, there were still lots of rooms, but I had already put $ down on a different cruise and gotten a price for air that was too good to give up that late.
  25. Especially frustrating as people post for this cruise (we are also on your cruise) that they are getting "smoking hot offers" (their words). I would like those of us that booked beforehand (probably at higher $$) to get some good offers! We also have heard nothing about our bids.
