  1. My first cruise was on the SS Empress of France in 1957. It wasn't really a cruise as we emigrated To Canada from Liverpool England. I have no idea of the cost as I was only 10 years old. I was in an cabin with my mother and 6 year old brother. I remember the cabin was at water level and it had a very small port hole. The porthole cover was closed for the majority of the cruise due to extremely high seas as we crossed the Atlantic. It actually took two extra days to reach Quebec City due to the rough seas. The ship was nicknamed the "drunken empress" for good reason it rocked and rolled almost as soon as we left port until we reached the Saint Lawrence River. I remember that there were no lines for anything .... everyone was sick. I was young enough to really enjoy myself and had no fears ...lol.
  2. I received ours in the mail yesterday.
  3. I just received the same offer. I was tempted but unfortunately it doesn't fit my schedule. Hope I get another one sometime.
  4. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you are enjoying your cruise.
  5. Enjoyed your blog and pictures. Thanks for posting.
  6. We have always given $5 for two bags also.
  7. Nope .... My Absolut tonics are always perfect.
  8. I think you will enjoy your salads. I ate one practically everyday on the N. Amsterdam last month. They have a great selection of extras and will make it any way you want it. The lines can get quite long but they serve from both ends (2-lines) and it moves along quickly.☺️
  9. We experienced the same serving on our recent N. Amsterdam cruise last month. The pastries were not offered as we were seated but if you asked a tray was brought to you to make your selection. The chocolate and blueberry muffins were also on the tray.
  10. On our NA cruise I used my Chevron card and then made sure I wasn't charged for any fuel on the cruise.😁
  11. Enjoying your informative review of your K'Dam cruise. I especially enjoyed the pictures of Half Moon Cay. We just got off a 14 day Panama Canal cruise on the N. Amsterdam and unfortunately HMC was not part of our cruise. After looking at your pics we will have to schedule another trip to see the island. Thanks again John.
  12. Thanks for your review. We are excited to be boarding next month.
