  1. Were you given communion cups to serve the wine in?
  2. I would like to try it, but I have several concerns. DH is not a family-style person. I'm worried that if I order an entree that it will be too big for me to finish by myself. Can you safely go here if your spouse isn't a "family style" kind of eater?
  3. I did the Chef's Table, and a young man bought his girlfriend who was allergic to everything. She just wrinkled her nose and told the chef she was allergic to everything, and for the rest of the Chef's Table, her meal was adapted to her non-tastes.
  4. Does anyone else secretly hope that there will be lots of cancellations on your cruise so that the buffet lines aren't so long? Or is that just me?
  5. Can someone tell me how it's comparable to PF Changs?
  6. I'm not sure about how warm the pools will be. I've lived in Texas all of my life, and it can be warm enough to use a pool in March. Houston-Bush is a loooong way from Galveston. Sure, Uber is possible if you're willing to find a driver willing to do it, but it's over an hour away.
  7. Can two people theoretically share it? For example, can my DH use it on his device and then log off and let me use it for awhile? I'm debating about whether to get two Social packages or one Premium package. He likes to stream TV a lot, but I don't think he's going to get a 5G experience even with the Premium package.
  8. Guy's Burgers is legendary. The line was always out the door on my last cruise, so I didn't get to try it.
  9. And yes, if you don't feel like dressing up, all other dining venues are open.
  10. 1. Yes, there will be 2 formal nights on the 2nd and 5th night. The attire is "Cruise Elegant", which loosely translates "What's elegant for you". 2. You will be provided with 2 VERY nice beach towels. In fact, they are the only towels allowed to be taken off the ship. If you take one home, it will cost you $22.
  11. The cruise director is Emma Nixon from the United Kingdom. She is by far the best cruise director I've ever had the pleasure to sail with.
  12. She's the last Vista class ship. She'll be sailing out of Long Beach, California. I think she might be setting some new records for a Long Beach cruise port. Biggest and newest, perhaps? And she's going to be very female. A female cruise director AND a entertainment director. She's like the Star Trek: Voyager of cruise ships. In all seriousness, I think I'm going to sail on her ASAP.
  13. If you truly want privacy, ask for a booth. There is really no such thing as privacy with Anytime Dining without it.
  14. Thank you to everyone who replied to this thread. Here is the Chef's Table menu for June 20, 2019 aboard the Carnival Freedom. It was a very special evening.
  15. The bedding that Carnival uses is way too warm, and the rooms can get stuffy at night. I've woken up drenched in sweat before because their comforters are better suited for survival in Antarctica rather than a tropical cruise. So I created this handy-dandy note to give to the room steward. It worked too! Arvin, our room steward, replaced that heavy, hot bedding with something light and refreshing.
  16. There was a really nice bar waiter from Bosnia that I thought delivered above and beyond service. On the last night of the cruise, I tipped him $30 on my last drink bill. Usually I tip people I really like in cash, but I didn't have any on me. His eyes got really big, and he thanked me for the generous tip. So does he really get that $30, or does it go into the tip bank to be split 6 ways to Sunday?
  17. This is exactly why I created the note. Zero privacy. I felt like I was being eavesdropped on.
  18. That’s a great idea, thank you. Will they seat just 2 people in a booth?
  19. This wasn’t a joke. I’m glad someone else doesn’t like sitting practically family style when you just want to unwind and dine with DH.
  20. A nice thing too about a note with cartoon diners is that a lot of MDR staff don’t speak English as a first language. This avoids confusion.
  21. I have Anytime Dining, but one thing I don’t like about it is when you’re seated just an inch apart from fellow diners. I just want to visit with DH, and not feel obligated to visit with fellow diners or moderate what I say because I feel like I’m being eavesdropped on. Do you think this note with a $5 bill on Night One would solve that problem?
