    AP Tours

We travelled to Naples on a Celebrity Cruise, arriving in Naples on 25th October 2012 and had booked the Amalfi Coast tour with the drop off at Sorrento Port through APTours. Sarah in the APT office was brilliant in helping sort out the trip and arrangements. Our guide / driver Arturo was excellent as was the Mercedes with lots of room for 4 of us. From the moment we met Arturo at Naples port to the time we were dropped at the ferry for the return nothing was too much trouble for him. He explained the background to all the sights in sufficient detail but did not swamp us with too much detail or uninteresting information. He also gave us the background on Italy in modern times and its current situation; this too was perfect and helpful. He also recommended a very good restaurant at lunchtime. He always ensured that other places were visited in response to our requests. He walked with us along the quay, to the entrance to the ferry to ensure we boarded safely and on time. The hydrofoil took us back to the terminal where we reboarded our cruise ship so it was a perfect end to the trip. We chose his route back rather than retracing our car journey which we could have done. The return on the ferry not gave us more time in Sorrento but gave us a different perspective of that beautiful coast line. We would have no hesitation in recommending APTours, this trip and especially Arturo to anyone visiting Naples as good value for money, very interesting, beautiful scenery and worth doing for anyone who wants to see the Amalfi coast. We have now decided that we will return and spend a holiday along the coast sometime soon.
  2. Our guide was Emre. From the moment we met Emre at Kusadasi port to the time we were dropped back at the ship nothing was too much trouble for him or the driver. Emre explained the background to all the sights in sufficient detail but did not swamp us with too much detail or uninteresting information. He also gave us the background on Turkey in modern times and its current situation; this too was perfect and helpful. We had missed this on our day in Istanbul. We requested a typical Turkish meal at lunchtime and he found the perfect place in the co-operative (rug) establishment. We had an overview about silk manufacture and the different way each rug is made - at our request; no selling involved. Emre also ensured that other places were visited in response to our requests. Emre had a wonderful sense of humour and we had very interesting conversations about ancient and modern lives of people in Turkey which we found very educational and enabled us to not feel as tourists We would have no hesitation in recommending the Ephesus Shuttle company (http://www.ephesusshuttle.com), this trip and Emre to anyone visiting Kusadasi as good value for money, interesting and worth doing for anyone who wants to get a very good overview of Ephesus ( the Temple of Hadrian, The Grand Theatre and the House of Virgin Mary were the most impressive buildings we visited) and the sites around Kusadasi.

    Ephesus Shuttle?

Day Tour of Ephesus - October 22nd 2012 - Equinox, Celebrity Cruise Our guide was Emre. But then we said we did not want any rug commercials so off we headed ! He also ensured that other places were visited in response to our requests. Emre had a wonderful sense of humour and we had very interesting conversations about ancient and modern lives of people in Turkey which we found very educational and enabled us to not feel as tourists We would have no hesitation in recommending Ephesus Shuttle, this trip and especially Emre to anyone visiting Kusadasi as good value for money and very interesting. There were no deposits and paid at the end by credit card without visiting the office. They would accept cash also. It was done over the phone charged in US dollars and my banks rate of exchange was excellent.

Athens by Taxi - tour company

We recently travelled to Athens on the Equinox and had booked a half day tour around Athens on October 22nd, 2012 with Private Greece Tours. We were impressed first of all by the speed at which Nikos, the owner, replied to questions - he obviously lives with his blackberry as it was 11pm Greek-time and I sent my email less than 20 minutes before then ! Our guide/driver was Sakis and he was very helpful and very knowledgeable on his city. This length of trip and the places we visited was just right for us and the amount of ancient history and the background on Greece in modern times and its current situation was perfect and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company, this trip and Sakis to anyone visiting Athens as good value for money, interesting and worth doing for anyone who wants to get a very good overview of Athens. We felt very safe and cared for at all times in case anyone is concerned about the protests that happen from time to time.
