  15. I have only sailed NCL so cant compare with anyone else...We have sailed Europe, the Carribbean and have found its what we make it..We are scheduled for August 31 on the Joy to Alaska. Looking forward to an exciting trip...I do my best to not listen to the critics. I have read most of the reviews both positive and the negative ones as well..Never had a bad cruise. My only issue is there is so much to do on this ship and also being in Alaska i dont know how we will ever do it all..Dont listen to the naysayers go and enjoy it all. Let me know how it went when you get back. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy
  16. I sincerely hope they enjoy their cruise and bless you for making sure they have the best time they can. Im 75 so i relate with us complaining..Life is sometimes not easy for some of us. Especially if we have suffered a loss of a loved one..Be patient.
  17. We sail on the Joy in August. We only sail NCL and my experience says a cruise is what we make it..never had a bad cruise..Go cruise on the on the Joy and dont listen to negativity or the crybabies..Attitude is everything, IMHO.
  18. We had an aft balcony on our last cruise and now have book and aft balcony on the Norwegian Joy...Cant imagine NOT booking and Aft cabin. The views were spectacular everywhere we went. Rome, Barcelona etc etc.. Looking forward to Alaska in August/September.
  19. Thanks for the info about no wind on aft balcony.
  20. Sadly I cannot find this escursion on NCL website for the Norwegian Joy in August-sept sailing.
  21. We will be on the Norwegian Joy beginning August 31 to November 7 sailing from Seattle. We would enjoy whale watching and glacier experience. Is there an alternative to Norwegian escursions either at Juneau ( Only there from 7 to 130) which may or may not be enough time. Icy Strait we are there from 7 to 5 which seems like a better option. Are there any independent excursions from either of these ports. Norwegian tours seem pricy but get the ship will wait if we run late. looking for other possibilities? If anyone has any ideas i would appreciate your input.
  22. yea that was my thinking also. thanks for the reply
  23. Question: On the Norwegian Joy above the lifeboat deck forward there is a series of cabins that have dividers between them..does anyone know about these cabins..are they Suites, or Haven cabins or just the way the ship is designed?
  24. booked the norwegian joy for August 31, 2019. Sad to hear no thermal spa passes but still not a deal breaker, with so much to do on this ship. We'll just have to make the best of it. lol.
  25. We will be cruising alaska from Seattle and i was wondering what is the best location for Whale Watching. Icy Strait of Juneau or is there not much difference. Sailing 31 August to 7 Sept. 2019 on the Norwegian Joy.
