  1. We are booked for same itinerary but 9/19/2020. We chose this one thinking, the ports are both RCCL owned properties. They would be able to secure it and not have to deal with other ports outside their control. I hope our reasoning is correct, but who knows?
  2. We are set to cruise on her the day you get back. Our theory was short cruises to both private islands, RCCL can control the conditions better and no need to go into countries that may not be ready. I’m not an expert but I hope I’m right this time.
  3. Sign us up to sail in Aug. We will be ready.
  4. Things are getting serious! My hubby who is very fussy about his hair allowed me the give him a haircut. I propped my i-pad up and watched a video on doing a mans haircut. I Must say it doesn’t look too bad, but I’m sure his barber isn’t in any danger of being replaced. I was able to get my hair cut and colored just before closings. I have hats if things get ugly. I can do a manicure and pedicure myself, but I would really enjoy a pedicure right now, just to relax.
  5. I’m sure he had reasons unknown to some of why he made his decision at first. Every Governor has to do what’s good for his state and situation. I am not judging because I’m sure he is doing his best. I for one am trying to be positive, this is uncharted territory and we will learn much from this. Throwing blame does no good at all in my opinion.
  6. I am kind of confused as to why the ship would come to FLL. If it was a SA cruise, does it have a large amount of people from that area where it would make sense to at least stay there until they are allowed to dock? And why not make sure you were going to be allowed to disembark before making the trip to FLL?
  7. Actually it is posted on Disboards and being discussed extensively. We have reservations for a vacation in April, we have been waiting to reschedule and not been able to do that. I spent 2+ hours on hold with Disney to reschedule. The Disney app, which has all our personal plans on it, now gives instructions for rescheduling after June 1st. I would not lie about this, jeesh.
  8. No fishing for anything, I had reservations in April, got all my money back. Made new reservations which are also refundable.
  9. I am aware that things change, that’s life. I was just reporting some positive news.
  10. Just received word from Disney that the parks will resume operations on June 1st. i know this won’t matter to some, but I see it as a positive move.
  11. I’m afraid I didn’t see them, my bad. Sorry to have bothered you.
  12. My husband was reading me an article about the cruise industry and the stimulus pkg. It seems they may not be eligible because the ships are not registered in US and many of the crew members are not US citizens. I never really thought about the registry part, but aren’t there many companies that are based in the US and have folks from different countries?
  13. Thank you for the wonderful posts. Just this morning my DH and I were feeling a bit sorry for ourselves. It seems everything we love to do has been canceled. No traveling to see our grandsons, can’t visit our new granddaughter, no Disney trip and no cruising. We wallowed in self pity and then I read your posts. You really cheered us up and made us laugh our butts off. Thank you!❤️
  14. First off I have no idea if I’m allowed to ask this question but I don’t know anyone to ask. I’ll take my lickin if I’m wrong. We have booked several times at Next Cruise then had our TA take over the res. later on to take advantage of perks offered on both sides. I would like to know, is it possible to do the same thing with a RCCL res. made online? Also, is it possible to get a balcony credit, loyalty perk, by just asking for it, if we are not on a cruise at the time?
  15. Stayed in Trastevede, at Hotel Santa Maria. It is beautiful converted convent. The rooms all open to a central courtyard. Breakfast is provided and it was substantial and delicious. Trastevede is home to many wonderful restaurants and nightlife. We walked to all the sights and it was an easy stroll to the Vatican. We would stay there again for sure.
  16. We were also on this cruise. I echo a lot of the comments made. We were not diamond until after this cruise, so I cannot comment. We noticed a few areas of the ship looked a bit tired, but not dirty. We know she is going in soon for drydock. It really didn’t bother us. We also found the MDR to be very good, we always found something we liked. Service was top notch. My husband commented that he found the shrimp cocktail to be great, but he wished the sauce had more horseradish in it. The next night he was brought extra horseradish to add without asking. The only negative we found was the CD Mike. He was very obnoxious at times. We were uncomfortable with the way he commented to an elderly gentleman at the bellyflop show. Great cruise, met some really nice people.
  17. Very refreshing post! Thank you for starting it! We sail in 6 days and we will be diamond status after this cruise. We are visiting the southern Caribbean for the first time. We have booked an exciting trip for next year to the Baltic’s. We have healthy happy children and grandchildren and we are very blessed to be able to travel. Life is good.
  18. We love the Horseradish salmon, the lasagna and the apple pie. The lamb shank and escargot were especially good on our sailing on Allure. After the second night, the waiter automatically brought us escargot to share every night.
  19. So I don’t know the cost, but I know we were on the Harmony several years ago and a lady from our roll call used it for her husband. She shared with me that they hadn’t been able to cruise for awhile until they discovered the program. She was quite happy with the care he received. You might try calling the disability number for RCCL, they will be more helpful.
  20. Everyone has covered just about anything that might come up. I just wanted to add, you might want to find the roll call for your sailing and join. There will be a meet and mingle, arranged by the ships staff if there are 25 or more joined. It’s a good place to meet in person the people you have talked with on your roll call. Also, the roll call members sometimes have excursions you can join at a much lower cost, smaller group and more customized plan. Welcome to cruising!
  21. My question was regarding junior suites, are they considered suites. It seems everywhere else they are not.
  22. Regarding JS privileges, we have noticed several times we have seen check-in lines marked for “Suite Guests” in the MDR. We were afraid to use them because I have read so many times that a JS really isn’t a real suite. Would it be a perk allowed a JS?
