REVIEW: Summit 4/14-4/21 Southern Caribbean

Do the SOLSTICE, they have real grass on the top and Live Glassblowing on the top of the ship put on by Corning Museum. Very nice ship.

    REVIEW: Summit 4/14-4/21 Southern Caribbean

THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW. We have done 5 CELEBRITY CRUISES IN THE CARIBBEAN. On the Solstice and the Millinium. 10 on Disney and the last one on Caribbean Princess. We are trying the Summit next Feb. for the first time. Im glad you said you didnt notice the smoking, because the smoking was awful on the Caribbean Princess in the Casino and top deck. We have been to all those islands a few times, yes werent impressed with Antigua either. Thank you for the heads up on the trip you took on St Lucia we were looking for something to do there. Its rather dirty where the ship docks. We like snorkling and have done it in Barbados and Aruba and want to find other places to snorkle. We liked the Spa pools on Celebrity, they were never as busy. We like leaving on cruises in San Juan. Your already in the Caribbean and not at sea to get there.

    Disney Cruise or Disney World

Our kids were at least 5 before all of us could enjoy most of the parks. I felt we were able to do more once they were 5. Friends of ours took there kids when they were 4 on the Dream last fall. They had a blast because there are things to do for all ages and if the parents want to do something they can be at ease knowing their kids are enjoying themselves and are well supervised while you are at a night club or spa on the ship. I would say the ship!!!!!!!

    Looking for Transportation Options
First post so I hope I'm doing this okay. Daughter (10) and myself going on first cruise (Disney Fantasy) March 9, 2013. Will arrive from Nova Scotia day before and will stay either Orlando or Cape Canaveral night before. Looking at best transportation options & times from Orlando.
We have done it different ways depending on how many of us. We fly into Orlando rent a car for one day at the airport, drive to where ever we are staying, usually a Disney resort, then the next day drive to Port Canaveral drop the car off at the Car rental and get shuttled to the ship. Then do the reverse when we get back, have3 prearranged to have a car for rent for 1 day and drive back to Disney resort or wherever we are staying and drop car off. That way your only renting for 2 days. A lot of times if it is just myself and Laura we will take Disney transportation $70 each for both ways. Not the cheapest way to go but if something happens while driving there they will make sure you get on the ship. In Dec this year there will be 7 of us so im thinking of taking Limo service like the one mentioned here to and from the port.

    Best Dining times

We have sailed DCL many times and have 3 more booked this year in the fall including our Member cruise in Sept. Laura and I are in our mid 50s. We choose late dinning. Its rare to see kids in late dinning. We have already gone to the show so we arent rushed to leave. Except Pirate night, I put my pirate outfit on before Dinner. Then we go top deck for the Pirate party around 9:30.
