  1. When is your flight? Because the airline made the schedule change you may be able to request a different connection now rather then worrying about it. I’ve had Air Canada make a change I wasn’t comfortable with and they gladly changed it.
  2. If the number is an 800 number it will be good in Canada. If you think your connection is tight, try to figure out what options are available in Montreal so that you can direct them to your preferred backup plan. Also, do not forget that the airline will also be looking to rebook you if the connection is missed. Depending where you are flying to it’s likely there are other flights later that you can be rebooked on (assuming there are seats). In closing, it’s always important to select a connection time you are comfortable with even if a shorter connection time is legally allowed.
  3. Please keep in mind that Celebrity did not change your flights, the airline did. Before speaking with Celebrity I would go to the airlines website and see if your original flights still exist (they likely do not). While there see if there is a routing you find more suitable and when you speak with Celebrity see if they can change you to that routing. If your current airline doesn’t have a route you like use one of the usual travel sites (or Google flights) to see if there is a routing you prefer. Once armed with your preferred options you can then see if Celebrity can accommodate your request. You can also see if canceling your flights and rebooking directly with the airline is a possible option.
  4. In case people haven’t noticed the pandemic isn’t over. Even though restrictions are being removed Covid cases are very high. The only saving grace is hospitalizations are generally down.
  5. Are the flights home at the later date with the same airline or with a different airline? Not that it makes any difference but how can an airline (or Celebrity) charge you if you “miss” your return flights home? If it’s two different airlines I cannot see any issue. If it’s the same airline you may need to ensure they don’t have some sort of policy that prohibits someone from having two different return flights. Again, can’t see that being a problem but who knows. If you know a good TA perhaps they can give you some advice.
  6. Don’t blame FBC for the issue. They booked you a legal connection and you accepted it. Had you booked the flight through a TA or directly with the airline you would have also had the option of choosing that connection. To answer your original question FBC was very helpful when I missed a connection in FRA (as was Lufthansa). They provided multiple options that would get me to my final destination and outlined the potential risks associated with the different options. They also notified the ship of my delay and I was allowed to board after the scheduled cutoff time. Glad you were able to reach out to the airline directly and came up with a satisfactory solution.
  7. Your first issue is with Delta. They provide the flights and made a schedule change that has affected your travel plans. Celebrity had nothing to do with that. When this happens the airline reschedules you according to their rules. Celebrity has no say in how your flights are rescheduled. What you need to do is have all your original flight details, your new flight details and finally the flight details you want even if the routing is different. Armed with this you need to speak with a supervisor at Celebrity air and work with them to get the flights you want at no additional charge to you. Unfortunately many of the front line agents are only trained for basic transactions. If necessary insist on a three way call that includes Delta.
  8. Many of Barcelona’s hotels have rooftop patios available to the public. Choose one and walk/taxi to in and have a relaxing morning and lunch before heading to the airport.
  9. It’s too bad Europe doesn’t have something similar to the CDC cruise ship dashboard. We are on the Silhouette in October and unless Covid cases world wide are on the rise we plan to go. Regardless of Celebrity rules we will wear our masks indoors and avoid crowds where possible.
  10. First time we stopped there we took an excursion to Aix-en-Provence and loved it. Second time there we rented bicycles from a company that had setup on the pier https://www.mabicyclettebleue.fr/en-fr/ and in the morning biked into town to explore and grab lunch. In the afternoon we biked back to the ship and continued on to a beach area nearby for a quick swim and a drink.
  11. Just happened to me. The rep claimed that the latest promo has a bigger airfare discount than the promo I booked under and unfortunately he couldn’t apply the greater discount.
  12. Did you book your cruise through Celebrity or a TA? If the cry was booked through a TA they will have access to your flight details including cost. If your cruise was booked directly with Celebrity your flight details including cost will be under your cruise summary. As far as your drink, unfortunately Celebrity’s website is lacking and you won’t see that. You have to refer back to your original booking confirmation (Celebrity or TA).
  13. Were your original flights canceled or have major changes? The reason .I ask is I always book the exact flights/connections that I want when booking my air through Celebrity. The only issue I have ever had was when the airline changed the time of one of my legs which resulted in an unacceptable itinerary IMHO. When that happened I looked to see what other options were available an was able to change one of the flights so that it was a good/usable itinerary. I may be wrong but I believe I was able to deal with the airline directly since it was their schedule change that caused the issue.
  14. Everyone has their own view on the issue. You refer to ridiculous rules while I refer to them as prudent rules. The only reason I have cruised since Covid (and have future cruises booked) is that I feel Celebrity is doing it’s best to keep passengers safe. I applaud you for doing what you feel is best for you. Hopefully you’d applaud Celebrity for doing what’s best for other passengers.
  15. Was on Millennium at the end of March: -wore our masks while wandering about the ship -social distanced -ate at a table for two -avoided theatre and unfortunately the silent disco -avoided crowded bars So glad to be back on board all of the above was not a problem.
  16. I’m booked on the Oct 9th sailing of the Silhouette out of Southampton and looking to book flights on Celebrity Air to take advantage of the 25% discount. When I access my booking and enter my departure details it brings up a number of possible flights however I am unable to select any and move on to selecting a flight home. I am able to search available flights/prices by doing a mock booking and checking there. I’ve called Celebrity and so far they have been unable to help or find out why this is occurring. This has been going in for about a week so it Ot a temporary glitch. Not the end of the world and if necessary I’ll scope out flights using a mock booking and then call to book them if the website isn’t fixed. As I often say, it’s a good thing the cruise product is so good because their IT is so bad.
