A co-worker of mine was on this cruise. She said she will never sail NCL again. Her biggest complaint was the food. Not what I wanted to hear since I will be on the Dawn in June. To each his own I guess.

My co-worker went. She said they tendered. She liked Belize most of all.

It is hard to put it into words. I will try my best:
I have been on one NCL (2010) cruise and one Disney Cruise (2012). When I first got off the Magic I wondered if Disney was worth the money we paid, or was NCL just as good for less money. I loved both cruises and had wonderful vacations on both lines.
However, I find myself longing to go back on a Disney Cruise! I booked a cruise with NCL next year because that is what I can afford. But in my heart of hearts I wish I was going on Disney again. It was the BEST vacation I ever had. As corny as it may sound Disney truly gives you a magical experience even if you are all grown up. Maybe some day I will get to go again.

Obviously I wouldn't insist on someone leaving their crutches or wheelchair outside, and if you read my posts I said I have no problem with service dogs.
So I have no problem with service dogs at the dinner table, in a theatre or any other space. I asked why they cannot have a little time out and wizard-of-roz has replied.
BUT I would have a problem eating my dinner next to a horse.
Good for you if you don't.

And you would really have a problem with a miniature horse with shorts on in the MDR lol. :p

Our biggest disappointment was Castaway Cay (talk about overcrowded).
That's funny. We didn't find Castaway Cay overcrowded at all:confused:. And we went in the middle of the summer. It was my favorite part of the cruise.
But then again, we sailed Magic not Fantasy.

Anyone ever do pin trading on the Disney cruises? We are sailing on our first Disney cruise next January and just curious if people partake in such event....want to be prepared.:)
Based on response to my previous post, I retract the advice I originally gave you. I mean really I am no expert. I went on one Disney cruise, bought about 5 pins for my 8 year old to trade, went to one swap where DD traded one pin with one officer.
Now, I think you should get on that ship. Go straight to the gift shop and buy the most expensive pins you can. Then go directly to your personal navigator and find out when the pin swap is. Send your kids there with the pins you bought for the swap. I am sure the Officers will have all their best ones  And hey whatever happens happens. After all they are just pieces of metal.
Most of all have a wonderful cruise!!!!:)

Weren't you doing the same thing with the officers?
And I bet that you would do the same with kids.
Oh, sorry! You must be one of the officers.
-
If it's bad for other passengers to trade unfairly with your kids, is it OK for your kids to trade unfairly with the officers?
I knew when I wrote that someone would point that out. The difference is the Officers know they are not going to turn down offers so I'm sure they don't wear pins they can't part with. Kids (especially little ones) often don't realize it when they are being taken advantage of by older passengers who do know the difference.

Yes we have. One night the ships officers held a swap outside of the Walt Disney Theater. They have all kinds of pins and from what I understand no offer is refused by them. We bought cheaper pins to trade with them and kept our limited edition ones back in our room. Be aware that other passengers may try to trade unfairly with your kids. That's what I was told on these boards before our cruise.

Castaway Cay has fountain drinks ans an ice cream machine just like on the ship. Of course, there are adult beverages for sale. As i recall the buffet opens at 11:00 but the drink machines are up and running right from the start.
Yes buffet opens at 11:00 but they also have a fruit stand/buffet before that. It is across from the ice cream machine and in front of Cookies.

We asked to sign up foe the Tea Party at Guest Services first thing upon boarding. On the Magic it is Alice's Tea Party. Alice and the Mad Hatter asked for two girls from the audience to sit at the table in place of the rabbits. My daughter (dressed as Princess Tianna) was chosen. At the end everyone is able to have their pictures taken with Alice and the Mad Hatter. There are cookies and apple juice at each table. It is very cute.
