  1. I am a "glass half full" kind of guy: This email is encouraging because it shows they want to be an ongoing business and are not about to declare bankruptcy and prohibit us from getting our money back
  2. Thank you to all who have posted. The more data we have, the clearer the picture will be once we start seeing some payments being made. Also, I have in the back of my mind: maybe at some point we forward this list directly to Seabourn. I do not think it would do anything per se. But from a PR point of view, it might pique their interest to see that this information is being shared and tracked publicly. Then again, I am not sure that Seabourn does not occasionally look at Cruise Critic. ("Hello - anybody listening?") 3. Interesting about the BUSINESS days. If you assume 60 business days in a week, that means 60 business days would take 12 weeks or 84 calendar days.

  8. It has been two days since I started this thread. This thread has been viewed over 950 times. But only about 20 different people have posted. so there are quite a few "lurkers" out there! I know there are many more people in the position we are in. It is possible some of you have already gotten a refund from Seabourn. Please share your information so we can have a sense of how long things are taking. Thank you

  10. Insurance would not have covered if Seabourn did not refund us. Besides, I am very confident Seabourn will eventually issue the refunds.
  11. on a side note, I just received word from Allianz that my trip insurance premium was fully refunded. If you had insurance, check to see if you are eligible for a refund.
  12. I was trying to keep it simple. I am not sure if the refund of taxes or airfare or excursions follow a different process than the refunding of cruise fares. But - for those interested - I will include tracking them, but separately. 13. OK Folks, here is the spreadsheet I am maintaining. I will update it here every few days. The table will be in the order of the date that the refund was created. Hopefully, more people will provide me their information. Also, hopefully, people will reply to this thread when they get a refund so we can share how long it took. Looks like a few people are getting close to that promised "60 day" point. 14. Hello There have been a couple of threads with discussions about cancelled cruises and refunds and ideas to challenge Seabourn to get your money back That is not what I am suggesting here. i would like a simple thread: please post the date of your cruise, the date you cancelled your cruise ( or excursions or both). And then, when (and if) you get your refund, please post the date you received the credit. My thinking is that Seabourn will do this in some kind of order - probably based on the date you cancelled the cruise. By posting when you cancelled and when you received the refund, maybe we can see a trend and get an idea when future refunds will be coming. let me start cruise May 23 2020 cancelled excursions March 30 cancelled cruise April 17 no refunds as of today (May 5). I am suggesting keeping other discussion to a minimum- there are other threads for that.
  15. I have held the stock for years. 100 shares bought for About $3000. I have easily gotten my $3000 back. But going forward, be careful - even at these discounted prices. There is no guarantee the OBC perk will continue.
  16. I just went on the Seabourn website to look at my itinerary for a booked cruise. I could go to my documents, see my summary and boarding pass and see most other parts of the website (like searches, etc.) . But when I went to "booked guests" and clicked on "Book excursions and spa", I get a blank window. Anyone else have this issue? My cruise is in late May.
  17. I agree. It is a shame. There are so many "sky is falling" stories, you do not know when a real emergency might exist. The flu affects -and kills- many many more people and the media gives it no notice. Why? because it is not a sexy story. I hope this is just another in a long line of over hyped stories.
  18. I will second that position. We have a cruise in Europe planned leaving May 23. If it is cancelled, so be it. I will monitor the situation and will make a decision April 22. But as of now, full steam ahead i lived through the bird-flu, swine- flu and many other scares. Normal precautions were sufficient. I have not heard anything (Yet) that makes me believe this will be any different. But I am still listening...
  19. If this process sounds unbelievable, believe it. Demand is that high. If you want to visit, take the time to do " practice runs" and be ready the day you need to order.
  20. This thread has strayed far off the original topic. Let me give a few comments I love Seabourn. But i find it obnoxious that Seabourn can not tell you in advance what nights are formal nights. I like to plan things - spa appointments, dining reservations, excursions. If a given evening is a formal Night, it will influence those plans I enjoy TK Grill. It adds variety to our cruise dinners. The food is of a similar quality (at least!) to the main dining room and well above the casual experience Of the colonade. The chicken was wonderful. I have never felt pressure to buy up the wine. But since the TKGrill is often a highlight of our dinning week, we often do. I enjoy scheduling TKGrill on the embarkation evening. I find the main dining room can be a bit disorganized with new guests and often new staff. The Grill is A consistently Relaxing experience we did the Grill one formal night, With another couple. I had a formal dinner jacket, my wife a long dress and similar attire by our companions. It was lovely. We left the Grill before dessert and had dessert and coffee in the man dining room. An idea I heartily recommend and plan to do again.
  21. We used https://transfer-service-ch.com. it was pricey, but very efficient. Picked my wife and I up at 7:30 am in Basel At the dock and was at the airport in about an hour. Car was a Mercedes Limo. Cost was 280 euros. Others took a taxi to the train and then train to airport. With 2 weeks worth of luggage I did not want the hassle. Probably would have saved $100 or so, but for a vacation costing over $20K it was not significant.
  22. I Had the location before I arrived. But I did Not really check it on the map. I had assumed it was the same location we had docked In 2018. Bad assumption. When we were in Amsterdam in 2018, my daughter met us and she stayed at the Renaissance . It was about a 10 minute walk from the dock. So this cruise, we stayed at the Renaissance for 2 nights Pre Cruise. Great location and great hotel. Walked to everywhere When it was time to go to the ship, I Was not going to schlep 2 weeks worth of luggage even that short distance we would have to walk. so we took a cab. I was surprised when I gave The driver the address and it ended up being about a 15 minute drive. But my point is this: if you are planning any sightseeing in Amsterdam, get a hotel near what you want to see. Invest in the taxis. Your time is too valuable. Another point - most cruise lines have pre-cruise hotels. If you book one of them, the transfers from airport to the hotel and hotel to the port are often included.
  23. Be careful we have been to Amsterdam twice on Uniworld. One time we were docked within walking distance of Central Station, the canals, Anne Frank House etc. The last time ( April of 2019) we were a good 20 minute cab ride from the tourist areas. Amsterdam is getting very crowded with river cruise ships. My advice: take a cab or train from the airport to a nice hotel in the middle of what you want to see. Then take a cab to the ship. How much are you spending on the cruise? $20k. Will a $20 cab ride break the bank?
  24. Where did you find it? Is there a list of all cruises?
