We were loyal to Royal for a very very long time , Bigeck can vouch for that 😆 , sure the grass isn’t always greener on the other side , tried Costa on their brand new ship Smeralda last January, had a great cruise on a gorgeous ship but the food was dire . At the end of the day we vote with our wallet now as there so many choices out there , never had a bad cruise yet with MSC .
I get that and I am wondering if it is worth trying a different line again.
my auntie who we call the cruise queen because she has been on so many picks cruises based on price, maybe that’s the trick.

I am a firm believer things happen for a reason.
I checked out the pricing again with a well known UK TA , they were showing same date much cheaper than MSC and with our loyalty discount it was £1718 total for a bella balcony, premium drinks and tips. Sorry RCI but MSC win again for us. Snooze you lose.
Good deal but I am loyal to royal... tried many other lines and keep coming back

We were on Anthem from new york to bermuda last year and it was around 50% full. It was nice, lots of space by the pools, never had to queue up for the roller skating or bumper cars, The ifly was epic and fun.
yeh it will be great! -

1000 limit is set by UK Government until
June 21st.
The ship will feel totally empty with 1000 guests.
I am actually looking forward to seeing what a big ship feels like at 50% capacity or less

With such a range of choices now becoming available, if you hadn't already booked and cost wasn't the primary factor, which line would you choose and why?
If I was sailing solo, it would probably be Fred Olsen, for the smaller ship and more interesting itinerary. If I was sailing with one of my cruise buddies it would probably be Princess for the value of the Princess Plus fare.
All points of view equally valid and hopefully no negative posts...😄
celebrity silhouette has been refurbished and is one of my fav ships as is the anthem of the seas. I am more loyal to RCCL brands.- 2

Anthem UK Itineraries:
For anyone wondering, here are the itineraries for Anthem’s 2021 UK Cruises, according to the Royal App. The first sailing departs on 7th July, with the last departing on 29th August. 😀
7th July - 4 Night Ocean Getaway Cruise (No Ports)
11th July - 4 Night Ocean Getaway Cruise (No Ports)
15th July - 5 Night British Isles Cruise (Belfast, Northern Ireland -> Kirkwall, Scotland)
20th July - 5 Night British Isles Cruise (Greenock, Scotland -> Kirkwall, Scotland)
25th July - 7 Night British Isles Cruise (Belfast, Northern Ireland -> Kirkwall, Scotland)
1st August - 6 Night British Isles Cruise (Belfast, Northern Ireland -> Liverpool, England)
7th August - 8 Night British Isles Cruise (Kirkwall, Scotland -> Liverpool, England -> Belfast, Northern Ireland -> Greenock, Scotland)
15th August - 8 Night British Isles Cruise (Inverness, Scotland -> Kirkwall, Scotland -> Liverpool, England -> Greenock, Scotland)
23rd August - 6 Night British Isles Cruise (Liverpool, England -> Belfast, Northern Ireland)
29th August - 7 Night British Isles Cruise (Belfast, Northern Ireland -> Liverpool, England)
At 30 I doubt I will be vaccinated in time for any of these cruises. Are they asking for two vaccines?I would book if there is a policy that states if you don’t get a vaccine in time you get a refund. We are desperate to get on a cruise we are 1 point from diamond plus and have been stuck for over 1 year now 😂

We have an Allure cruise booked for August out of Port Canaveral. 99% sure this isn't happening , at least for us, as flying abroad from the UK this summer will be fraught with all kinds of difficulties. I had actually resigned myself to no holidays this summer again (our next booked cruise is Barbados in January - pretty confident about that at the moment).
But I have to say that a fully vaccinated cruise around the UK is getting more appealing - even if it stopped nowhere. It would be safe , relaxing , easy to get to and a very welcome change of pace from the drudgery of life this past year.
Harmony or Anthem would be fantastic . I know Anthem is a cold weather ship - we have sailed Anthem from Southampton a couple of times , and she is actually our favourite ship.
But even Harmony , at lets say 50% capacity , would have more than enough indoor space to accommodate passengers in poor weather .
And in my opinion the appeal of the first Oasis class class ship to homeport in the UK would be immense. I could see a lot of people giving Royal a try for the first time , just based on the fact it is such an iconic ship.
So get your finger out and get this sorted and open for bookings!
Good point an oasis class ship would blow the competition out the water! -

All of Italy is now part of RC's ban. Got a text/email this morning.
Anyone travelling from, to, or through Italy within 15 days will be denied boarding.
Jewel is scheduled to leave Dubai for Italy in 3 weeks. Wonder what will happen to that sailing. Are they really going to deny boarding to anyone who's been in Italy, then take the ship TO Italy?
or they drop off 3,000 guests in Italy and everyone gets a free cruise as they won’t allow you back on the ship.

which certainly means they won’t be dropping 4,000 guests off in the same area... -

It will be world wide soon. RCCL need to update their policy quickly.

There must be cheap cruises to Italy now...

To where? There are now confirmed cases in northern and southern Italy, Croatia, Austria (granted they’re not known for their ports), Barcelona, the Canary Islands and the U.K.
might as well close down then.

Will RCCL change European itineraries (not dock in northern Italy for example) in light of the c-virus?
😅

Congratulations.
If you have time maybe you could book and sail on another shorter cruise or a mini cruise in a JS for double points before this one and then you would officially be D+ for this cruise.
good point. Annoyingly I am only two points off D+ -

While you don’t get the points until after the cruise, you do get to smile and do your own toast with a free drink in the Diamond lounge on the appropriate night😉. Have a wonderful cruise.

What did you expect... Holy cow, you’re the first to notice????
Different ship design, therefor different spaces! Simples!
it doesn’t feel as wide -

well Anthem is an ALL WEATHER SHIP. I bet you will like the indoor pool with lots of seats and then the solarium with the cascading pool with seats and view of front of ship.
To me the actual outdoor pool area is the least exciting.
Now Odyssey for those of you who are thinking of that ship, there is not cover over the 2nd pool. Now Odyssey will have two outdoor pools for FLA.
agree with the all weather comment. Not sure a great ship in hot climate due to the lack of open deck space. -

Maybe down to different ship class??
Anthem is Quantum class, Indy is Freedom class.

thanks for stating the obvious 👌
Are dining packages worth it?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I agree.
On a 3 night we tend to do a speciality once.
On a 7 night we tend to buy the package for 3 nights
On 14 night cruise we tend to stick with a 3 night package and often go 4 times.
My personal opinion is that the MDR whilst good can be a tad monotonous especially on a cruise longer than 7 nights and especially if you cruises often.
I am a foodie therefore appreciate the different dining experiences.
