  1. Looks like we have a neighbor on this cruise @DCHONEY. We are also from Woodbridge, Va. Looking forward to the new ship.
  2. Thanks for the great review. I was on this cruise with you. Reading your review allowed me to relive it.
  3. You are not alone. The exact same thing happened to us for a cruise that we will be on next month. We are platinum and the couple we are traveling with are on their 3rd Carnival cruise. They received emails with a VIFP special rate that we never received. By using the special rate their cruise is $80 cheaper than ours. Keep in mind our cabins are right next door to each other so it's not like they have a different cabin type.
  4. Does the departure port make a difference? I think the original poster is leaving out of Orlando not Galveston.
  5. (Per Carnivals website) Premier: for our more avid casino players, Premier is available on cruises of six days or longer and offers all the benefits of the Getaway program plus a complimentary pre-cruise gift, priority debarkation, a special Welcome Aboard party, invitation-only casino tournaments, and a chance at $20,000 in free play, cash and prizes every cruise. Ultra: loyalty matters, and our most loyal players will receive Ultra invites, which include all of the benefits of the Premier program plus a chance at $100,000 in cash and gifts on board. Elite: reserved for our very best players, the Elite program provides exclusive experiences and perks like complimentary parking or local airport pick-up and drop-off, early stateroom access, complimentary drinks throughout the cruise, a free shore excursion and Wi-Fi, special Welcome Aboard and sailaway parties, and VIFP Platinum status for the entire voyage.
  6. I'm glad I'm not by myself. Numbers 1 and 4 pissed me off until I got to 5 then I started cracking up.
  7. Antigua, Aruba, Curaçao, Grand Cayman, and Grand Turk are my top picks. However, the only island I didn't care for was Freeport.
  8. You can't go wrong with either ship. We have been on both and had a great time on both. Which is why we will be on Horizon again in September and Dream again in January. I think you should determine which one has the best itinerary for you. At the same time if you want to experience the newest ship, you can't go wrong with Horizon. Which ever ship you pick, I'm sure you will have a great time. Happy Sailing!
  9. Will you be on the November 3rd cruise? If so we will be on there as well. :D
