  1. OK. Problem solved. I think the main problem was that I was using an outdated Medallion Class app, one I had installed for a pre-covid cruise. I'm glad I pursued this, because the Wellness Check that appeared when I installed the new app is where you submit a pic of your vaccination card. Thanks to Jefferson, a nice man from the Philippines, who was my Princess phone rep. And thanks to those of you who offered help here. We are now as green as grass. Jim
  2. Thanks for the help. I have four things listed under Travel Checklist, none of them Wellness Check. I think I'll need to call Princess. Their latest email stressed the health form MUST be filled at least 24 hours before departure. Jim
  3. I did most of this stuff so long ago that it's hard to remember. Particularly the questionnaire. And I can't even find that on the app now. I ordered the Medallions well in advance and have them in hand. Arrival group is selected. Jim
  4. Our cruise departs in eight days, and we still have blue lane status on the Medallion app. I can't see a single thing that hasn't been completed. Any ideas? Jim
  5. Regardless of the ship, Club Class will be open for embarkation lunch until about 1:30 p.m. Jim
  6. We're regular Princess cruisers but are interested in trying another cruise line or two. Every time I go exploring on the net, I find the other lines' websites baffling. I'm sure part of this is that we're accustomed to Princess. But I think part is that most cruise line websites stink. Does anyone have an opinion as to which sites are most easily navigated?
  7. Money well-spent, IMO, and a very nice C deck cabin in the end. Jim
  8. I stick it in my pants pocket, exactly as I did my cruise card. No sweat. Jim
  9. I know. There's just no help for us Yanks. We try, but. ..
  10. Welcome to Princess web woes. This is not unusual, especially on weekends. Others have said Princess is the second worst website in the cruise industry; all the others are tied for first. Makes sense to me. Anyhow, I too had trouble signing on for a couple hours, then bingo, all's well. Typical. Jim
  11. Premium is not worth the extra money to us. The Plus category covers everything we want. Jim
  12. The civil, constructive way to put it is: I expect you'll be happy you tried Princess. Jim
  13. The point, as I see it, is that every ounce of food you bring aboard is an ounce they don't have to feed you. So they're happy to have you bring on almost anything that doesn't represent a health threat. Jim
  14. Leo, I appreciate the informative and well-rounded review. I'm curious, did they offer a Pub Lunch? I know it wouldn't impress a real Brit as fine pub fare, but for me it was always a break from the ordinary when Princess offered this in the Wheelhouse Bar. P.S. My wife and I board Oct. 15, so that's part of my interest. Jim
  15. I think it's a given in cruising that midship gets less rocking back and forth than either fore or aft. So midship cabins are valued higher on all cruise lines. Jim
  16. In the past, a sail-date upgrade has been unavailable on Princess. My impression is that other lines also discourage that (can't swear to that). The crew is setting up cabins based on bookings. Jim
  17. Yes. It is wide open to whatever whenever they don't have something scheduled. I have used it as a morning relaxation/reading place, but have sometimes found it looking like a Greyhound station. Lots of people catching Z's because they didn't the previous night. Jim
  18. In the thread you started yesterday, several people reported having the FCDs back in their account almost immediately. I see no reason to doubt them. Jim
  19. This is news to me. And good to know. Thanks for the info. Jim
  20. I really like the idea of more cuisine fitting the region of the cruise. I would love some legit Mexican dishes on a Mexican Riviera cruise. But other than that, I'm pretty happy with the Princess offerings. There are usually a few menu items that we never make at home or see in local restaurants. So, variety is great. Jim
  21. Jim It's just the catch-all Princess number: 1 800 774-6237. Jim
  22. I just used this and I'm happy they are offering it and that hpeabody alerted us to its availability. Worked like a charm for me. About 20-25 minutes for the return call. Be aware you might have to endure a couple of minutes on hold before you are offered the call-back option. Again, thanks to hpeabody for telling us and to Princess for offering it. P.S. Obviously, some people have had less-than-perfect experiences. I'm not dismissing them, just stressing that mine was great. Jim
  23. I'm with you. Not to get too picky here, but the appearance of fish and chips in the buffet or MDR doesn't pass for Pub Lunch to me no matter what Princess calls it. I think those who miss it are missing the separate venue (Wheelhouse or similar) with multiple British menu options and draft ales in a pub setting. That's what I hope will return Jim
  24. In my experience, there's little to no wait most of the time. And it IS a good thing to check out on embarkation day, far less chaotic than the buffet. However, I've seen a long line (and no beepers) a couple times on port days when almost everyone came back from port at the same time. Jim
  25. As msmoger suggests, the Princess website is the place to make things happen at this point. You will be able to book flights and excursions soon. The Medallion app comes into play more as you get closer. I've just booked our first Royal Caribbean cruise and feel similarly confused. Can't figure out how to do anything. Jim
