  1. Thanks so much for your input. Will wait and see what happens to the earlier cruises. I would accept if Turkey was changed to amber plus, like France, as I can isolate at home but what I cannot do is isolate in a hotel room, as I am claustrophobic. Will actually be on Silversea in October so if Turkey stayed red, I could make the change then.
  2. I would be most interested to see how you get on with your Kusadasi stop, even if you stay on board. I must say I find the U.K. plf difficult whereas the Greek plf is easy. You are quite right - there are so many ifs and decisions can be made so rapidly. I was on the initial sailing of the Moon in June but that was just Greece and Cyprus, so no problems.
  3. Further to my earlier post, my problem is that Silversea require 31 days notice of cancellation if I want to switch to another cruise I.e. Barcelona to Lisbon for the same time period, as it is my birthday. My TA asked the Silversea office when I enquired if the Kusadasi stop might be cancelled and was told it depended on the nationalities of the passengers on board. As I am on the October sailing Lisbon to Lisbon, am reluctant to make a switch now on the November cruise, as Barcelona to Lisbon will be a bit repetitive.
  4. I am booked on a November Silversea cruise which calls at Kusadasi. As Turkey is currently on the U.K. red list, I would like to know if I would have to quarantine in a hotel on my return to the U.K. My TA has suggested that if I remain on the ship in this port, I would be OK but I have my doubts. Can anyone clarify the situation?
  5. The U.K. government despite designating Greece as Amber, has advised citizens should not travel there unless there is a family emergency. I do not know how many U.K. citizens are booked on the June 18 sailing but this might have delayed Silversea’s 30 day deadline so that up to date information may be given. This is my logic. I am happy to sail and undergo the necessary tests and home isolation when I return.
  6. I live in the U.K. but cannot download vaccination details because I have no mobile phone. However, by calling 119 I was able to request a vaccine certificate and was told I should receive it in five working days.
  7. I was supposed to have been notified today, thirty days from sailing, as to whether the Silver Moon will sail on June 18,. No news so far but mixed messages from our government, which makes Silversea’s decision difficult.
  8. Waited for my refund on cruise cancelled by Crystal on August 1. On December 4 I told my TA I was going to file a chargeback. In the U.K. we pay our TAs not the cruise line. Received refund from my bank on December 18. Saw my TA on December 28 and he said his company had been reimbursed by Crystal. My thoughts are that when it is the agency’s money, they act more diligently to get the refund
  9. After waiting for a refund on a Crystal cancelled river cruise since August 1, I filed a chargeback with my credit card on December 4 and received refund today. Unfirtunately, i had to file against my TA but they understood. Crystal have been so dishonest over refunds, I will never Cruise with them again.
  10. I live in the U.K. and had a Crystal riverboat Cruise cancelled on August 1. I had my TA filebfor a refund straight away.Crystal said up to 90 days for a refund, then extended it by two weeks. To date I have no refund at all. Spoke to my credit card issuer and they said to file a claim, although the limit is 120 days but that there was some leeway. I booked through my TA so would have to make the claim against them, which is unfortunate, as I have a good relationship with them. Would like to hear how anyone in the U.K. has fared with getting a refund from Crystal. Are river cruise passengers
  11. The latest from the Head or reservations for Crystal is that they process refunds in chronological order and are currently working on April refund requests. My cruise can elles August 1 and refund request filed then. Was told 90 days, then another two weeks. Who knows when or if I will receive my refund? I am a U.K. client.
  12. My Christmas cruise was cancelled by Crystal on August 1 and I was told up to 90 days. I had my TA follow up ten days ago and was now told it would take an extra two weeks as this is the time it took them to process the refund request. What lousy treatment - anything to hold on to your money.

In the U.K. my credit card is with the same bank as my current account, so when I eventually got my various refunds, I was able to transfer them to my current account and then into my saving account. i have been critical about the Silversea refund process in the early stages of the lockdown but Crystal is much worse. They cancelled my Christmas river cruise on August 1 and they said the refund would take them 90 days. They are now saying that as it took them two weeks for the initial paperwork, I will now not get my refund until mid-November. Crystal refund process makes Silverse
  14. Crystal cancelled my Xmas cruise sailing on December 21, on August 1. They told me 90 days for refund - far longer than Silversea. Checked with TA today. Crystal said it took them two weeks to process paperwork so cannot expect refund until mid November, which is disgraceful. Any river cruises in future will not be with Crystal.
