  1. We are debating between doing Spencer's land and sea tour vs. the beach break. It seems expensive to pay $90 just for the beach, lunch and drinks. If we want to do just the beach, can we get there and back on our own? Or is there a major benefit to doing the tour? Thanks for any advise 🙂
  2. I recommend Alaska Humpback Adventures. Max of 6 people. A friend used them last year and had great things to say, easy to book, very accomodating.
  3. Thanks all. I tried to find the roll call but couldn't find it. I followed the directions for starting one and this is where it posted. Not sure why....
  4. Starting to think about excursions for next years cruise. Anyone else on board with us and our 2 friends? 🙂
  5. Hoopster I need your help! Taking a page from your playbook, we have rented a car from Avis for our day in Moorea on February 11. The confirmation says pickup and dropoff are at the Vaiare Ferry Terminal but we are of course tendering from the ship into Opunohu Bay. I tried calling Avis and they are of no help, according to them the only 2 locations are the airport and the Ferry Terminal. Looking at your map, the Ferry Terminal is far from where we tender. Your post said a minivan picked you up at the tender pier and brought you to the Avis counter in the Intercontinental Hotel. How did you advise them that you needed to be picked up from the pier instead of the ferry terminal? We will also be at the Hilton from February 8-10 so if we need to contact someone at Avis there maybe we can get someone at the Hilton to do it for us? Any help you can provide would be very appreciated.
  6. We have been on Marina twice, Insignia once. Both were enjoyable but if itinerary was the same we would choose the O ship for the following reasons: 1. Size of cabin; 2. Size of bathroom, especially inclusion of a tub. I know many say to get rid of them but I really enjoy using it when on vacation. 3. The 2 extra specialties, especially Jacques 4. The ability to take culinary classes. 5. The possibility of using Privee or indulging in La Reserve. 6. We found our Insignia cruise was a much older crowd; we are in our early 50s and found very few people close to our age aboard. Not sure if that’s an R ship thing or just that particular itinerary (RT NY doing the NE Coast). I honestly did not find any difference because of the increased number of passengers on O ships. We would do an R cruise again if it was the right itinerary and because I would like to see the renovations. But was very happy to hear about the new builds so we have more options on the O size ships.
  7. Does anyone know if they do anything special for Valentine’s Day?
  8. We did the Baltic on the Marina in September of 2017. Having the 3 days in St. Petersburg was fabulous, I don’t know how you could see all there is to see in less time. If you are looking for a tour guide, I highly recommend TJ Travel and Nadia. Great customer service & wonderful tour guide who brought the city to life for our group!
  9. Try Fabrici @ Tahiti Eden Tours. We are using him just for transfers but he also does tours - tahitiedentours@yahoo.com. He is very responsive and reasonably priced.
  10. Can someone tell me how to delete a completed countdown???
  11. To my knowledge only the R ships are part of the Oceania Next transformation. I haven’t seen or heard anything about the O ships but Nautica is the last R ship to transform and that’s not until late 2020 I believe.
  12. No they do not. Someone from the roll call will usually put it together. Oceania will provide an area to meet and officers will stop by, but no refreshments.
