  1. Do you have a cell phone or computer? You can get a 50mb package free on the ship by signing up for it before midnight on embarkation day. Then use your device to book it after you arrive! This works if they have space available' date=' and is better than walking up to the desk and hoping for the best because if they are full, you'll save yourself the trip.

One hint--be sure that your cell phone isn't going to download all kinds of junk when you turn it on or you'll eat that 50mb in no time. Be sure you are set to use it as an internet device only and all apps are blocked.[/quote']

Thank you for the help !

  2. i know we can book a day trip here on Resort for a day prior to our trip but with the storms going on I'm worried we may miss Nassau or go a different day than scheduled. My question is, has anyone just gone over to the hotel and got the same day pass deal without booking in advance . We want to try out this hotel, but don't want to lose money if we don't show up. Thanks !

  3. Does anyone know if the Dream 4 night Halloween on the High Seas sailings have the optional formal night? Since they have the halloween costume night I thought that may replace the optional formal. I would be perfectly happy NOT to pack evening wear but my daughter loves "fancy night" and would be disappointed if we did not bring formal attire and others were wearing it. Thanks in advance for responses.

We were just on the 3 night Dream cruise in July. Dress up night was a nice pair of jeans and an under armor golf shirt. The wife wore a nice summer dress and I think we were the most overdressed people there. We are doing the 4 night Dream in 3 weeks, and I intend to wear the same . I did wash them so I'm not a total slob !

  4. We are going on a cruise with children and grand children, however due to mobility issues walking is sometimes difficult. If we chose to stay on the ship at Castaway Cay stop, is there anything to do on the ship?

Call me crazy, but we pay an awful lot for our cruise to just stay onboard the ship. CC is our favorite private island stop of any cruise we have been on, and we book Disney just for this reason. I do realize you said mobility issues, but the last 5K we did on CC a young man ran past us with 2 prosthetic legs that he lost in the war. We were just there in July with our daughter and her family, and the grand kids absolutely love the family beach. They didn't want to leave. The snorkeling is fantastic at the adult beach if you venture that far and even the lunch they provide at the cookout is very good.

All this being said , I completely understand you not wanting to get off.... we have been to Nassau so many times we have lost count and really hate it there, but still venture off the ship just to stretch our legs and see how we can be harassed. Hope you decide to venture around CC, it's very enjoyable !

  5. The Fantasy isn't getting any new shows. The shows on the Fantasy are Believe, Aladdin, and Wishes.

The Dream is getting a new show (Beauty and the Beast), replacing Villains Tonight. The other two shows on the Dream are Believe and Golden Mickeys.

Thank you, that's great news ! Believe was our favorite of the 3, and we don't think we've seen either Aladdin or Wishes yet.

  6. Mickeys and Believe will definitely be repeats. Beauty is replacing Villains' date=' but the scheduled start date is not till November. It could start early IF all the details are worked out.[/quote']

Thanks for the update. They were all great shows and I'm sure we will catch them all again . We are on Fantasy in April, so we will catch the new ones then .

  7. We just returned from our trip on the Disney Dream. We had two cabins (1 bedroom and Family) on the Concierge Deck (Cabins 12020 and 12018). The cabins were connected so we opened the inside doors and had the hostess open the connectors on the verandah. The 1-bedroom was beautiful. It had enough sleeping space for 5 with 2 walk in showers and a whirlpool tube in the master bath. The living area had a 42 inch Samsung (HD); 2 very comfortable chairs; a coffee table and a sleeper sofa. There was also a dining table that seated 4. There are two sets of doors that lead out to the very large verandah. The verandah had 2 lounge chairs and two upright chairs, along with two small tables. The Concierge Deck was awesome, especially the lounge that extended up to a private sun deck. During our voyage, we were assigned 3 Concierge Hosts (Andy; Ashley; and Danny). All three provided exceptional service and were attentive to the needs of our entire family. I would recommended the Concierge level if it fits your budget. Additionally, we reserved a Cabana on Castaway Cay. I found out that a few Cabanas are reserved for Concierge guests to book at the last minute. Lucky me! Once I figure out how to post pics, I will do so.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the rooms and the service. We will be in 12018 for our Sept. cruise and had the one bedroom suite on Wonder. I have a veranda booked for next Sept. but may upgrade if love this room !

  8. OK, I was told there is a 36.00 per person charge that is applied to your room charge just for getting off the boat at Castaway Cay and also 25.00 charge for a "survival pack" which includes water on ice . Can someone please clarify this for me please ?

    Completely false !

  9. Does anyone know which shows they run on this sailing? I am wondering if Beauty and the Beast will be showing.

We were just on Dream in July. They had The Golden Mickeys, Disneys Believe and Villians Tonight. We are on Dream again in Sept. so we are hoping it will be a different venue for us.

  10. We will be on the Vision OTS going from Quebec to New York 20th Sept. It's our first time on RC and I can't seem to find a straight answer to the level of formality required in the main dining room. Husband is happy in shirt / tie / waistcoat combo but doesn't want to bring a jacket as we're starting with 5 days in Canada and finishing with 5 days in NYC and only have so much luggage capacity. Also do I really need to wear a dress? I'm happy in smart trousers and a pretty / sparkly top and I know I'll get my wear out of these when we stay in NYC. Thanks for any help.

What you described will be more than fine. You will see people in anything from a tux to formal t-shirts.

  11. We will be cruising on the Allure on Feb 25th, 2018. Our return flight time options aren't great... either 9:20a or 3:20p. We'll be a party of 6, with 3 young children; I'd rather not have to find things to do to fill our day until our 3:20p flight. The ship 'arrives' at 6:15. I wouldn't normally even ask about a flight only 3 hours later, but the port is so close to the airport (FLL)... do you think we can make it? Is there someone at RCCL I could try asking that would know the details about our options for getting off the ship as quickly as possible on the last day?

Can it be done......yes ! If all goes well, and your back in port on time and you get off as quickly as allowed and there are no problems getting thru customs. The taxis are just outside the terminal and you would be at the airport in 15 minutes . All this being said, you should be at the airport by 8 and hope the other 6,000 people onboard didn't have the same plan or another ship is in port also.

With all that being said, if you are comfortable with everyone's opinion, give it a try. There is nothing to do at FLL as far as entertainment for several hours waiting. Personally , we would take the later flight and stay onboard till they kicked us off but that's just us. You will have a great cruise on a beautiful ship. Enjoy , and we hope all works out with whatever plan you choose !

  12. Hello, it's been awhile since our last Disney cruise. Can anyone tell me how many days prior to the cruise the Guest Signature Form be available to print out. I can't remember. We are down to 65 days and I have done the online registration, but no form yet. TIA

  13. Embassy Suites, evening cocktail hour and breakfast included. Microwave and fridge in room, several shops and restaurants nearby...Shuttles to port, I seem to remember at a nominal charge.

Ditto....for all the reasons you stated ! We usually book it thru booking.com. But check their site often for sales. Last time the price dropped to 40% off regular price .

  14. We are back from our Oasis cruise, so I'll let you know how our disembarkation went . Please keep in mind we were in a GS, which really made a huge difference ! We met the Concierge at 745 in the Champagne Lounge and were escorted off by them. We were able to cut right thru the line and baggage area and led right to the custom agent . We were out of customs at 7:56. We had already reserved Cortrans for a pick up and left the port at 8:15 and made it to MCO by 9:00. There was no smoke or fog on the way to the airport like we thought we would encounter.

The line at the Southwest ticket counter was unbelievable, but we used luggage valet , so we didn't need our luggage checked or boarding passes. I would recommend using the outside ticket counter, there was no one in line there ! I know a suite isn't for everyone, but I would guess it saved us over an hour or more for the entire process. Hope this helps !

  15. Yes, the published perks for Sky Suites are now essentially the same as the higher suites -- although there is speculation that suite level status is known [certainly to your Butler] and reflected in the amount of informal perks that are thrown your way. We got upsold to a Celebrity Suite [never having had a Sky Suite] and certainly felt that we were treated like Royalty. Hard to imagine what occupants of actual Royal Suites felt like ...

Thanks for the help ! Last time on Infinity, we had the Royal Suite and the service was unbelievable, right from the terminal where we were escorted to Michaels lounge to meet our Concierge, to all the extras all thru the cruise. When we went to the speciality restaurants and the ask your room number, you could see an immediate change in the hosts.....almost to the point of " how may I kiss your a** today Sir ? I got the Royal last time because the price was extremely low, but figured that was a once in a lifetime price, so it might not happen again .

  16. Wondering what you think about a Sky Suite versus Celebrity Suite? Sky is 300 sq ft and Celebrity is 394 sq ft, but the cost difference is significant. This is for a New Zealand cruise which is port intensive, so we won't be spending a lot of time in the cabin. I think I am talking myself into the cheaper one! Am I forgetting something important about the difference?

We just booked a Sky Suite over the Celebrity Suite for half the price. The only benefit we won't get is entry into Michaels club, which we only went in once on our last cruise anyway. Our main concern was being able to go into Luminae's which is available with the Sky !

  17. Next weekend I'll be happily skipping my way across the gangway on the Allure and I want to arrive as early as possible to get my toddler settled in. I'm guessing it's a "no" but would suites be ready sooner /earlier than other cabin categories? I'm not like oblong forward to lugging around our carry ons and dealing with high maintenance toddler. Thanks for any insight! :-)

    Normally 1 o'clock. Sometimes just a little later .

  18. Thank you all for your help. That was the main reason for my post, because on Royal, a Jr. suite limits you to what you can experience and pretty much only give you double points for the cruise, a bigger closet, and limited time in Coastal Kitchen. I just got off the phone with Susanne from Celebrity and we will be on Infinity next November in a Sky Suite !
