I called the crwon and anchor number before my spring break liberty and explained thta my wife had bariatics surgery. Iwas required to submit a doctors letter explaining she could not drink carbonated drinks or alchol. we submitted the paperworking the dr provided and rccl made no requires of us to buy anything for her and i paid them immediately on the phone for the deluxe package . we did buy the cafr cofffee card because she was able to drink coffee . hope that helps . fyi on the summer cruise i paid for the royal refreshment for her and i got the deluxe package with the c&a department with no questions asked futher than how would you like to pay for that LOLIt's very hard to follow anecdotal reports because so many people are unable/incapable of providing complete and accurate details about things when they post such information, like dates and who they spoke with, what they asked, any specific circumstances they used as reasons, or what they actually had to buy or provide or when their cruise was, etc.I have recently seen claims that people have recently been able to purchase just one Deluxe Beverage Package and no other package for the other drinking age people in the same cabin, by calling and speaking to an agent about it. Rarely do you see much more than that so I can't vouch for it.
I've seen first-hand how people abuse it, sharing drinks. But really there's no reason that that won't still happen, just maybe with someone not in your cabin. So either you're the sort who'll be honest about or you're a liar, cheat and a drink whore who thinks rules are for everyone else, or exceptions to rules when it's convenient to do so are fine. :) I do think Royal Could have easily found a better way to deal with their worries of beverage package abuse, but what's their incentive? Less revenue or more revenue? So no surprise to see the direction they choose.

Oasis is a lovely ship and I am confident that you will enjoy your cruise. I don't usually buy a drinks package so don't feel that you are obliged to. Just pay for the individual drinks.
I have not found a problem with sales people while on board the ship so best not to worry about them. Most of the food and entertainment is free so I don't believe you will get any surprises with unexpected charges.
iI cruised last april right after my wife had bariatic surgery . her diet restricted surgary drinks and carbonation . i submitted a doctors statemnt explaining her situation and they absolutely let me get the drink package and she wasnt rquired to buy anything. you just have to politly request escalation . the next cruise she had less limitation so i was ok with her getting the refreshment package . just ask for their supervisor and i am sure with a note justifying your situation THEY WILL ACCOMONDATE GOODLUCK that is a great ship . but a word of caution be prepared to pay for it with the person who ok the arrangement immediately

not to change the topic but i went to book the bungalow for march 28th 2019 the navi gator out of miami.it isnt even listed as an option, anyone know why that would be . if sold out doesnt it normally say that and if limited then it normally would note to check on board ????? any ideas

if y ou call them and have a reason your wife cannt drink but if you likely say because she doesnt drink a lot then i can see that request being denied . ie medical issues . i had to get a statement from my wives dr explaining she couldnt drink carbonated or alcholic drink. they approved it for just me with out a refreshment package for my wife . this last cruise i went ahead and got the refreshment package for my wife just because i found them so fair minded previosly

No way should anyone be UPSET if you do not qualify. It has been tested and limits set. If not, could you imagine the lawsuits? the possible injuries? No, if you exceed the limit, be thankful, not angry.[/q uote] Exactly , i used it to motivate me to lose weigh LOL . I was 306 2 month before my cruise on the liberty .got on the liberty at 282 but didnt try the tidal wave till day 5 . I weighed in a 290 duh go figure no worries . I absolutely did not want exception .SAFETY FIRST

i agree just seems prevailate on carnival ships . i see you are from tx i wonder if all cruises out of tx are that welcoming. i never go on cruise ship to connected but this time the atmosphere of the crew and co cruisers was great. i made some friends from tx and never expected that nor was i looking for that. so a big thanks to your stateWhat does a bad mannered guest have anything to do with Carnival? No single cruise line has a market on rude behavior - sadly it's a human issue, not a cruise line issue.

Chair hogs are even getting lazy. We encounted a incident on the libertydurring spring break( great cruise inspite of this ). We search for seats for the sexiest man contest circled a couple of times . At 12:15 we lucked out with two towel free chairs on the deck above where the contest would happened . W e even asked the neighbor if anyone had those chairs. He reassued me no one using them so we got seated . 12:55 rolled around and some guy come up and asked for his seats back. explained that nothing indicated use and i even asked my neighbor . So he moved to the next couple and proceeded with the same questioning. That guy explained the same thing i did . The bully then suggested the guy had an attitude. For a moment i thought i was on carnival . The bully and guy in the chair had words . No fight but looked to be very close to one .OVER A CHAIR crazy . but on the other side of things this was a great cruise . My 1st time out of galveston and absolutely the most welcoming ship i have ever been on excluding the chair hog issue

I called the crown and anchor number who said since my wife had baractric surgery we could get an exception. we sent in a note from her dr and two days later a mr wood called approved it without any other packages purchased . i did so ahead and get the coffe card (15 coffee s for 31$) . the next cruise i ordered the refreshment packaged and a deluxe for me. That required no documentation and i thought it to be a fair conpromise

thanks for the info . we booked one for the presidential cruise on sept 29Maybe 5-10 paces. Very close. And again not crowded there. The only lounge chairs were those for the bungalow guests. -
great review !!! we are on her in september . how far was the bungalows from the water
-
they will not discount while you are on the ship . so yea i ordered online for the liberty 4/1. at best around day 3 or 4 they will offer 10 drinks for a certain amount most of the time i have seen 75$ mentioned

my hunch is that a boardwalk balcony on the 8th deck would be ideal for those who do want to fight the crowds . i bet a lot of the functions will be in and around the aqua theater . of course this is all guess work LOLI would think RCCL would open more spots for C&A members as they can tell now how many of us are coming. -
i understand your curiosity i booked the sept cruise the very day it came out before it was a presidential cruise. i also book the corner balcony 8329 with the aqua theater view with several perks going with the boardwalk balcony . i rarely afford myself but was 2154 out of pocket . i would have gotten a soda package anyways so 160 ish off that price and my t/a gave me 150 obc . so all and all a great deal for a normally frugal cruiserSame thought here Bill. -
that is a great idea thanks will likely do that
-
thanks for the replies . I think i will wait till my points for my july cruise shows up before i book the anthem balcony and gamble that 11 month should be far enough out to avoid any large price increases .

quick question i have 3 cruises booked this year . One in april one in july and the presidential cruise on sept 29th. After the july cruise i will finally be diamond . Will RCCLl entertain extending the addition 100 discount for my sept 29 balcony for my new status or will they subject me to repricing. I ask for 2 reasons the first i trust this site considerably more than anything rccl might suggest and two i am look at a bermuda cruise at a price i deem fair and would like the larger discount . I figured someone on this site has likely experienced this .Thanks for any input

seattle sea /tac airport offers the valet free best part no cost they want you to spend your time spending money in seattle doing tourist things I was on the explorer form the june 15th sailingThe RCI site says that valet service is available from Seatlle but I've read posts here saying it wasn't. I'm curious if it's been available for recent cruisers. We really appreciate the service.I know it's free for those in GS and above but is it also free for Diamond+ cruisers?
-
yes that would be for me and my wife thanks I always value your opinions / adviseThat does not sound like a bad price if it's for two or more people. For one person, one of the shuttles might be less expensive. -
not yet I have never used uber before but other are reporting 42 to 56 $ each wayDepends on the cost of the Uber ride. Do you have an estimate? -
ihave reserved a hotel in Houston since I get in late sat for a sunday cruise 4/2/2018. I plan on using uber to get to and from the port would you agree with that strategy or go some other directionI've also found transportation and lodging options at Galveston to be inferior to any Florida port we've experienced.
quick question from a new diamond
