  1. I have not heard that one. Do tell more. Is that because of the black widow spiders that like to live in bunches of bananas?
  2. I had a sliced banana with my breakfast almost every day. I think I was told by my server that they were too ripe one day and I just had strawberries and blue berries but 9 out of 10 days I had bananas.
  3. Good morning all. Thanks Rich and all who contribute to make this a great place to be and provide us with so much knowledge. I have been to the port of the day, twice. Once was on the old Rotterdam and we were able to park inside the magic bridge. We were able to watch the foot bridge open several times and it was worth watching.
  4. I have found that on ten day or less the standards aren't as enforced. But for the longer 21 days or more the tradition of dressing up still seems to stand. I saw 80% dressy, formal wear for dinner in the MDR. And I tend to cruise around the holidays so that many be why the 80%.
  5. Good morning all. Thanks Rich and all who make this a great place to be. I have been working in the yard trying to get it ready for a three month absence. In three days they pick up my suitcase, and ten days I will be flying. Yes, I am excited and counting days.
  6. I see it. So cute. I had to enlarge the photo and it is very clear then that he is still hiding in plain sight.
  7. Good morning everyone. Thanks Rich, Roy and all who make this a fun and informative place to be. New glasses are different enough that I am having a hard time using them but another visit to doctor says they are right. I guess I just need to get used to them.
  8. Ask your room steward for a cord or call ship services before the cruise and request one be in your cabin, no charge. They would rather you used theirs since there can not be a surge protection on the cord. One less thing to have to pack.
  9. Good morning all. Thanks Rich and all who contribute to make this a great place to be. Another grey day. I can't wait to be on a bhb and watch the sunrises. Today I will venture out to grocery shop but since I have limited time to be here I need to get things that will work out and all be gone when I leave for my cruise. Prayers for those on the Viking ship. Since I will be in that exact location on my next cruise it hits close to home. But what is life without a little risk and gamble? Boring. So I will not let it worry me.
  10. I have had my four Covid shots and a flu vaccine but will still bring masks. We had a room steward that was sick and within a few days, everyone in his section of cabins was very sick. Not fun. I bring things like cough drops for my own comfort, not to hide an illness. I know which drops work that I like and which sinus meds work. Hope everyone stays healthy. Linda R.
  11. Sandi, when do you get off? I will be there on the 17th.
  12. Can you explain three tries? Did you have to move tables or did they bring another waiter to you?
  13. Good morning all. Thanks Rich and all that contribute to the Daily. It is still cold here. I'm hoping to get some warm days to get the yard done before I leave. It recommends temps of 60 or above for best results. Sun is just peaking up and lighting my deck and the coffee just finished. Time for a cup.
  14. I have not found any but will follow to see if there is a way to get it.
  15. Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit. I am so excited that it is December. I can start my count down now to my cruise. 16 days from today I will fly to FL and on the 17th board the Volendam. So excited. Thanks Rich and everyone who makes this thread a good place to be.
  16. Good morning all. I was up a good portion of last night. Phone alerts going off. Wind swirling around at 70mph, and rain like a fire hose was covering my house. Lightning and thunder had no breaks between the strikes, just continuous booming and lighting the whole house. I never lost power and one of my sons was worried enough that we were comparing information from news about the spotted tornadoes on our phones. He knew I would be awake during the storm. But today is calm and we have received no visible damage. School are out or delayed, some buildings were torn apart but the storm is over for now. And the sun is even peaking out and it is 70 degrees. I have my first cup of coffee after going back to sleep for a few hours. Life is good. Hope others are doing ok in the storm that is up in the northwest and northeast.
  17. Good morning and thanks everyone who contributes, including our leader, Rich. I learn so much reading this thread. I went kayaking last night and it was wonderful. 65 degrees, no wind just a mellow reflective river. It is a nice way to spend a few hours away from normal life. Today we are to prepare for a major storm. I am hoping it does what it says and heads a little north of us with the two inch hail and tornados. Not that I wish it on others but away from me. Is that too selfish? Maybe wish it would just die down to a mild weather pattern instead of a storm. Hope everyone has a great day.
  18. Just checked my boarding pass. It has large letters for Priority boarding but off to the left in a blank spot it says "four star" and you could easily circle that in yellow too. No where does it say CO.
  19. When I think of windows by the door, the full ones seem best if you have dogs and grandbabies that like to look out, otherwise I would never benefit from the bottom half and would go for the top only. I tried to not do black Friday and cyber Monday but I did give in and get a folding ladder as it was $50 off. Turn me loose in a hardware store and it's like some in a shoe store. I came home with a lot more then I planned to buy. But it was fun and I will use all of the items.
  20. Good morning all. Thanks to Rich and everyone who contributes to make this my morning coffee place to be. We had a record breaking rainfall last night but today is bright and sunny. I will take my grandson out to brunch at Ruby Slipper. He has chosen to order the White Chocolate bread pudding pancakes as I printed out the menu for him to review last night. It is so overwhelming I need to give him time to decide before we go. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
  21. Good morning all. Thanks for the information and updates. It is cold out and may only get to be 60 degrees today. Hope all are having a good weekend.
  22. Good morning all. Had a great time yesterday with family. There are activites planned for today and tomorrow but sometimes just staying home seems nice. I guess it will depend on whether the rain stops if I want to walk around a Pow Wow. Thanks for the ship information and the drinks and food and care lists. Thanks everyone for contributing to this thread.
  23. Happy Thanksgiving. One of the things I am really thankful for this year is that I just have to drive across town and have a wonderful time with my family, 2 sons and a grandson. And it will all be vegan today. I will try to get pictures as my son is a renowned chef for vegan food. Thanks everyone.
  24. If I could have removed my comment after she changed the title I would have.
