  1. I cancelled on March 17th. I haven't received any money back yet.
  2. Well, my Carnival cruise planner called me back. I was issued a full refund, minus the cancellation insurance & non refundable deposit. This was given as a FCC. Sad we had to cancel. But as Canadians, do not see the situation improving enough between now and August to have avoided a 2 week quarantine. I hope this will not be the end of cruising as we know and love...but right now, our government telling us to avoid cruising, or we are on our own
  3. I hope I can. It only indicated I would be paying an $800 penalty. Waiting for my carnival planner to call me back.
  4. Wondering how long it takes to get my refund? I had paid in full, well before final payment next month.
  5. I was wondering about refunds as well. I cancelled our August cruise well before final payment this morning. I hit the "cancel cruise" button. No confirmation email saying I cancelled, nothing to tell me how much I am getting reimbursed. Anyone help me out? How will I know what I am getting back?
  6. The deposit does not say non refundable at all in my booking details, or initial deposit paid. The prepaid gratuities is $391.72, so I am still not sure about the remaining $446. May wait it out and see what happens between now and first week of June. Hoping things will get sorted out by then. We would still very much love to take our cruise...the only thing that would hold us back would be that our government continues to advise us not to cruise....my husband's work sent out an email today, advising those going away for the break next week to refrain from cruising or visiting the countries on
  7. We are Canadians and although not sailing until August, am trying to understand why on the website it is telling me I will have a fee of $836 if I were to cancel today...our final payment is not until June 8th. We have paid our balance in full, had purchased vacation protection and paid for gratuities for 4 .I thought there was no penalty for cancelling prior to final payment? Help, please. Just wondering in case the travel advisory that has been issued stating to Canadian "don't cruise" is not lifted by then....I'd rather cancel before final payment than after.
  8. This is very disturbing. Hope they can get this under control before a pandemic occurs, if it isn't too late already after this fiasco. Very foolish of HAL. Nightmare for passengers, crew and those who ended up in transit with passengers who disembarked and went home.
  9. We sail the meditteranean and are Canadians.
  10. A couple of questions: 1. Is the free coffee decent? 2. Is plain tap water free by the glass in the main dining room or do we have to pay for it?
  11. Wow - great to know. Thank you for your feedback. My DH and I really appreciate it!
  12. We have not personally tried out MSC...yet. We are booked on MSC Seaview for July, 2021 on a Med. We have sailed NCL, Carnival & Royal. Those lines all great in their own ways regarding service, food in MDR and entertainment. We are excited to give MSC a try. I think you will be pleased. There are certain things that will be new (e.g. the announcements in multiple languages, maybe diversity of foods, being it is an Italian line), however, we have done extensive research on this, as well have spoken to many extended family, friends and neighbors who have given MSC a shot...they are a very g
  13. Thanks for sharing these photos. Is that some sort of cheese pizza in your pics, or chicken parmigiana? Looks tasty!
  14. Thanks to all who replied to my post. Seems as though the majority have enjoyed their experience. We know food can be subjective. E.g. over the past 8 yrs, we've cruised 3 different lines...RCCL, NCL & Carnival. People complain in reviews and on these CC boards about the food and service on each of these lines. I'm no celebrity chef, but my husband and I have Italian parents, and so we do enjoy cooking and baking our own meals from scratch. We have enjoyed each line (MDR only) thus far....never gone to specialty yet...and each line impressed us equally and in their own way....including our
