    Magnifica breakfast options

We are on our first MSC cruise in September on Magnifica and were wondering about the breakfast options. Husband doesnt like going to the buffet for breakfast on the other cruiselines we have been on as it is too busy. Will the MDR be open for breakfast and is it to be recommended? What times is it usually open? Will hubby be able to have his full English breakfast? Many thanks. Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app
  4. We live in the UK and returned from the British Isles cruise 2 weeks ago. Whilst we were on the cruise apart from at Southampton, Guernsey and Le Havre where it was quite hot, most of the ports we stopped at were quite cool. The weather in the UK has changed now and the temperatures have dropped with no sign of returning to the high temperatures we were having. As you have previously experienced layers are the best option in our unpredictable climate! Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

Lost cards or cards that no longer work

Yes forgot that one. Also quite a few flyers arrived in plain white envelopes...why? Another waste of paper, all went straight in the bin.[emoji43] Sent from my SM-J320FN using Forums mobile app

You dont sign for any drinks now paid or not unless they are over a certain amount ($50 I think) and they dont provide receipts either. They say it is to save on paper but still deliver half a rain forest of flyers to the cabin everyday selling the spa and shops! Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

    MSC Newbie - Ticket s?

We are new too and live in the UK and will be sailing on Magnifica on 24th september. On our cruise personaliser (or whatever they call it on MSC) it says tickets will be e-mailed 21 days before sailing. If you think their website isnt as user friendly as P&O you should have tried it before it was updated recently. It seems quite good now in comparison![emoji32] Not quite sure what to expect on the cruise so will be going with an open mind. Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

    Kettles in staterooms

A kettle is an electric jug that boils water and switches itself off after boiling. Ideal for making tea which needs boiling water to make a decent drink. The main reason I think for you not using them in the US is because your voltage is only 110v and in the UK its 240v and therefore boils much faster for us.It is probably quicker for you to boil water in a pan. Most UK cruiselines have had kettles in their staterooms for many years because we Brits cant survive without our tea. As there are a lot of British passengers that cruise from Southampton, putting kettles in the cabins on Sapphire will keep them happy. Unfortunately for us there wasnt a kettle in the cabin on Royal last week also sailing from Southampton[emoji852] Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

Lost cards or cards that no longer work

Yes I think you are right. Sometimes in the buffet when I ordered a coke they asked if I had a package and didnt want to see my card and other times asked for it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

  12. We have just done the cruise and had a starboard cabin and had great views on sea days/ evenings sailing out. Port days varied, sometimes just the noisy side near the docks. Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

Lost cards or cards that no longer work

Be careful how you charge the drinks if you dont both have the drinks package. We have just come off the Royal I had the soda and more package and husband no package. On the first evening I ordered a mocktail and husband had a beer and I paid for both on my card so expected to be charged only for the beer. On checking the account the next day I noticed I had been charged for both drinks so queried it at guest services. It took them ages to work it out but eventually said it was because there were 2 drinks on my card at the same time, even though I expected to pay for one anyway. Didnt make any sense to me but from then on husband paid on his own card for his drinks. We never had to do this when there was a sticker on the card and I could just pay for his drink instead of getting 2 cards out as all the charges for the cabin go to my credit card anyway. This also means if you want to buy a drink for anyone you wont get yours free. Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

    Good news for tea lovers

Just come off the Royal based at Southampton like Sapphire but no kettle. It would have been great to have one, its one of the things I like about P&O being able to make a cup of tea when I like. We are going on MSC next month and they have put kettles in the cabins for the British passengers and even asked them to vote on which brand of tea bags should be supplied. I know you can get room service but the jug of hot water they bring isnt hot enough,it needs to be boiling to make a decent brew. Also most times we ordered tea the jug was labled decaffeinated coffee (they said there was a shortage of hot water jugs) so tasted odd. Oh, and the milk is awful too.[emoji13] Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app
