    Recent experience on Insignia?

We did the Insignia in April and had a wonderful time. The food was great, both Tuscana and Polo are worth the 'little extra" to set them up. The largest majority of the staff were great, inly had problems with the two little twits that handed out the tickets for traveling to shore if you don't have a booked excursion. Some different ports, but... http://community.webshots.com/user/thrpy
  6. Spiros of Spirostaxi will fulfill everything from Getting you to the Acopolis early - thus beating the lines to a 'local meal' that makes you want to go back - now would be good. All the sights adn history you can handle.

    Denali Lodge

Whatever BudgetQueen says is on the money true. Found much of her advise more than helpful. Staying at Denali is worth the extea time and money. We were at Denali Ldge at Glitter Gulch. http://community.webshots.com/user/thrpy

    Best Month for Alaska Cruise

Know you have obligations in May, BUT we had a fantastic time. Good weather pretty much all the way around. Yes, the animals are 'waking' but by the fall they have 'blown' coats and are starting all over again. You might appreciate :::plenty of pics. Fairbanks and Denali. http://community.webshots.com/user/thrpy

Napalover1 We went there with Spiros Taxi which IMHO is the best way to see Athens. We were at the Acropolis I think a litle before 9. Spiros picked us up from the Arentheneum Intercontinental about 8:15. Toured had a fantastic lunch - cheapest meal we had in Europe, at a little local place. The camera is a Canon S2. Super cameras - easy to take good shots and videos, and panoramas.

    Newbie to Oceania...? Tours

As to the food - it's great. As to the excursions - in the Med, one excursion drove by the Colloseum, that's it - drove by, with no stops, also did that to other archeological sites. Excursions are consistently a downfall for O. Expensive and incomplete.

Royal - Windward Islands Rookie Questions

Imagine, if you will, traveling to South Florida on vacation, with no great plans for getting really gussied up for going out. As we were there in December, it will be a little different, but I would imagine several short sleeved shirts, shorts and a couple of "nicer" (read as not suit shirts) and slacks. A water/weather proof jacket is a must while traveling, but it doesn't need to be lined for warmth, showers can sneak up on you, especially when you left the waterproof jacket on the ship. A good pair of walking shoes, a pair of good shoes and a pair of sandles/crocs etc. I didn't take a suit jacket of any kind. Wife took her "traveling" dress, i.e. wads up and unfolds loooking great. The older saying of take half as many clothes and twice as much money is always accurate. Some excellent shopping available onshore. Look at "weatherundergournd" a week or so before you go and you can find the temps and conditions for the area. Agree with just taking the extra memory card, especially since the prices have dropped soo much. When we went, I had just picked up a 512 Ultra II on sale for $25. I use the Ultra II's because my camera also does video which records better with a hi-speed card. The usual cross-packing and extra stuff in the carry-on work great. You never know when those wonderful luggage handelers will oops ya. PIA with the kids they had working the security on leaving, but hopefully that'll be better when you travel.
