  1. We did 3 days with Alla tours, incorporating 2 capitals (St Petersburg & Moscow). Was great, no issues. Others used both SPB & TJ and they were pleased with their experience as well.
  2. Cabin Number - 7046 Ship - Azamara Journey Month/Year sailed - June & July 2019 Would you choose this room again - yes Is noise an issue - No Balcony size Normal/Larger/Smaller - Normal Any other comments: Great location - 2 up or 2 down to activity floors. Encouraged us to use the stairs!
  3. Staying on the Port side we have got fully acquainted with the midnight sun. We don't close our curtains at all & it has been lovely. Sometimes the sun is brighter overnight than during the day. Karyn
  4. Sorry about the video, internet dropped out! Thought I would just post before it was all gone. Getting back into the high sides on the fjords now. Karyn
  5. 20190703_094135.mp4 Wednesday 3rd July we arrived early in Flam, anchored, as 2 other ships here today. We had ordered breakfast in the room and then down to Discoveries Lounge to get an independant tour tender ticket. We had our own tickets to the Flam railway for the 8.35am train. It was brisk, about 5 degrees, and the wind very icy, especially on the tender. We dug out the winter woolies and headed off. Got a window spot on the train with ease, and we could move around no problem. As we arrived at Flam station there was a snow shower. Beautiful. We got off and walked around, took photos and then caught the 10.58am train back. Fought with crowds in the tourist shops for a short while and then returned to the ship. At 2.30pm up anchor and then cruised around to Gudvangen. This fjord is on the UNESCO list and was spectacular. We stopped twice, once for goats cheese and another for berries, so looking forward to those treats. Then we are cruising towards Geiranger and had about 8 hours overnight that we were on the open sea, again with a bit of movement. Arriving at Geiranger an hour earlier today. Some photos of yesterday, whilst we have internet!! Karyn
  6. Yes, as Denise has said it is a bit cooler today. We have had to dig out our jackets, etc. We slept in til 10.30am. Our first real sleep in since we left home back on May 9th! We really enjoyed it. Up for a destination enrichment lecture given by Dr Short on Norway. Then we braved the cold and had lunch out on the patio. Chicken soup and lamb skewer, was yummo. We had to chase up our shore excursion tours tickets, as they were not left in our cabin (same happened the previous cruise too) and give our CC for this cruise (was too busy every time we went to the desk yesterday). After this we went down to the cabin to enjoy the vistas passing the window. French buffet tonight in windows and a comedian Mel Mellers, Gemma Rose on the piano in Spirits and the Captain's welcome toast. Arriving in Flam at about 6.30am tomorrow and currently weaving in and out of islands scattered along the coast. Some pics of the houses we have passed, position on the map and one of the bridges we have gone under. Karyn
  7. And we are on the port side! Some movement overnight, my bedside table draw kept going in & out by itself. Karyn
  8. All calm as we approach Oslo. Was a bit of rocking & rolling last night, especially as we entered the North sea. We will be there soon. Karyn
  9. Heather, I was wondering how you guys were going. Those waves & swell must look really impressive from your balcony! Karyn
  10. Hi all, Booked a V2 veranda cabin on Azamara Journey for a 13 night Baltics Capital cruise leaving Stockholm June 22nd 2019 on May 17th 2017. We are now 3rd tier loyalty members (over 300 points - ? Discoverer level) but were 2nd tier at time of booking. Applied under the old system (paying $395 USD per stateroom) for upgrade on May 17th 2017 and received a confirmation email from Azamara re the same. We also used 2 free nights when we became 2nd tier loyalty members (Explorer) when booking this cruise, if that makes any difference. Found out via cc that the old system was now defunct and placed my bid on March 13th 2019 for an upgrade to a cc suite and placed a bid of $300USDpp. Received confirmation of bid from Azamara at that time. Email received 20th June 2019 ( 2 days prior to sail date) that my bid was unsuccessful. This was not surprising as feel any real benefits of being loyal and booking early are lost as far as Azamara goes. Makes it easier, as I don't feel I am so locked in now with choices. Didn't even bother putting in a bid for our next cruise on July 1st 2019. Hope that this is the info you require! See you in a few weeks! Karyn
