  1. In 2019, Seabourn did not offer any complementary rain jacket or parkas on our Greenland TA cruise. We will be going again in August this year, and we are not expecting any. As to whether they are available for purchase in the boutique onboard, may be you can ask Seabourn directly. We will be bringing our own cold weather clothing.
  2. installing it on a device (like a smartphone or computer) from Aasource other than the official app sto In that case, it is best to avoid sideloading an app. As Google's AI overview says: r"""While sideloading can offer access to more apps, it also carries security risks as these apps bypass the vetting process of official app stores. " Accidentally installing a malware is becoming more and more a risk.
  3. If you have experience sideloding apps from third parties sources, then finding and installing the Seabourn Source is not difficult. However, if you have never done sideloading apps before, it may be better just to wait for Seabourn to fix the problem.
  4. Interesting. The Seabourn Source app seems to be missing from Google Play Store. If you are brave, you can search for the apk for Seaborun Source. Download and then install it. The version is v.4.48.0, the same as on my android phone. However, I do think that Seabourn will fix the problem soon.
  5. Thanks SLSD for your previous comments about the mattresses. Should it happened to me the next time I am on SB, I know what to do to fix the problem.
  6. According to the Port of Montreal's website: https://www.port-montreal.com/en/grand-quay/access-parking-and-services Long term parking for cruise passengers is $25 cdn per day, and reserve by email.
  7. From an investment perspective, even if there is only a 20% chance you will use your future cruise deposit, your expected return on investment is still very attractive.
  8. I believe that the "final" bill sent to your suite onboard is only preliminary. A few days after leaving the ship, the actual final bill will show up in your Source App, under Account -> Statement, and then choose your sail date. Maybe you can try and see whether your statement is available there, and it may show why there is a differences. I hope this helps.
  9. Your post reminded me of your thread on your 2023 Alaska cruise. Even browsing through it again, it pains me to read what you had gone through. From your signiture, it looks like you keep your promise not to use the "compensation" that SB offered to book another cruise. All I can add is that SB's service seem to have improved, but not with respect to MDR opening for breakfast or lunch.
  10. A travel agency (probably the same as yours) lists the 25 day Pacific crossing from Kobe to Long Beach starting March 16, 2025 on Encore at $251 per person per day. So, there are cheap fares if you do not mind too many sea days.
  11. We tried it once, and it was just so-so. Since then, we have avoided going to the Colonnade whenever Chinese food is advertised.
  12. First, I agree that the Chef's Special is often a bad idea. However, I do want to give the Chef credit for trying. On our trans-pacific cruise last spring, I had the impression that the Chef Specials are all versions of the local dishes. Since I saved all the menus, I checked. Sure enough, in Korea, the Chef special were Korean dishes, and in Japan, they were Japanese dishes. So, the Chef was working out of his comfort zone and experimenting. I tried some of these dishes, and would gave them a failing grade. My DW would ask why I tortured myself and ordered something that I knew most likely would not be good. But, in one of my old posts in this forum many moons ago, I said I wish SB will serve some dishes local to the area where the ship was. I got my wish, but the results were not encouraging. By the way, we had a wounderful shopping with the Chef in Japan, and, the next day, he prepared a wonderful special lunch (not Japanese) for the shoppers. So, all the poor Chef's Specials wer forgiven.
  13. We have never tried using the preference to indicate lower sodium/salt. But, we did once mentioned to the server that the food is too salty for our liking, and it seemed to fix the problem for the rest of the cruise. Come to think of it, they may have entered a note regarding our concernt for salt.
  14. Your Seabourn Club level will be updated at the completion of the cruise.
  15. We were not planning to have sushi that evening in the Club because we tend to overeat while onboard. But your wife's sushi that evening looked so tempting, especially the tuna. On the Odyssey, tuna often had a dull color, indicating that it was not of the best quality. The color of the tuna that evening was perfect. To compromise for not overeating, we ordered sashimi! And the tuna tasted as good as the color promised.
  16. The extra formal night was a surprise to us too. While we are talking about food, let me add a note about sushi at the Club, which was not covered by ak1004's review. The sushi we had on the Quest was better than the ones on the Odyssey, especially the tuna. The salmon was good, as usual, as well as the octopus.
  17. Just another minor correction. There were actually 2 formal nights on that cruise. In typical Seabourn fashion, the communication is inconsistent. In the embarkation doucment, it says one formal night. After boaring, the Herald on the first day listed 2 formal nights. The second formal night was on September 21.
  18. On the Quest, I think the Square (for coffee) is closed at 6 pm, but reopens at 8 pm.
  19. I think the best strategy is indeed to dine as soon as the Colonnade is open. Also, I think the Colonnade would be less busy on the first evening of a cruise. Most new arrivals would want to go to the restaurant on that night.
  20. Emin, the barista, is quite efficient. At 6:15, there may be a small line-up of 2 or 3. Around 6:30, it is usually free. There is also self-service coffee at the Square starting aroung 6:15, but no self-service tea. The Obervation Lounge was completely empty on the only occasion that I went there at 6:00, expecting to get my morning coffee and found out that things had changed.
  21. Thanks for the great review. Having shared the E&O dinner with you and Mrs AK1004, I agree that "just o.k." is a fair description. We think the food that night was way below the normal standard at E&O. However, it was the only major negative we found on this cruise. Even the missing early riser breakfast, which I used extentively previously didn't bother me, because coffee/tea is available at the Square starting at 6:15. Overall, even with some noticeable cut backs, there were major improvements and more efficient use of staffs that made this cruise the best SB cruise we had been on.
  22. I stayed in 431 on the Quest, and in 434 on the Odyssey, and the rooms were quiet.
  23. I think the app requires Android 12 or higher. Which version of Android do you have on your devices?
  24. Google Play Store says it requires Android 12 and up. The current version is 4.40.0 and it was updated on Aug 16, 2024.
