  1. The manager in Aquilina had a GF desert made and sent to the GDR for the following day. No one asked for it, he just surprised us.
  2. Just off the Quest with a GF friend. Spoke to the head of dining first day and he entered it in their system. Every restaurant on the ship knew and the specialty restaurants even provided the next day GDR menus to us. Buffet also has a special manager to assist and GF is noted even on the desert tables. Impressive.
  3. Thanks, we're all in cc suites so we should get an early spot in line for specialty reservations. The GDR sounds like it should be doable too. Appreciate the responses.
  4. We are traveling as a family of 8 adults. How difficult to get a table in the GDR for all of us to eat together? How about Reservations in specialty restaurants?
  5. Our tour got back late so we missed getting a table but also missed the line at the buffet. By the time our party of four got there we breezed through the food stations, ate right inside the door in Windows and walked outside to have some crepes standing and watching the rest of the show plus a little dancing. It really was fun.
  6. Was on the Quest in April too.Tableside.
  7. Just off Quest. Opens At 8:00 and we found it never crowded and very quiet & peaceful. The most people we ever saw during our visits were around 10-12. More attention therefore from the staff and the food was hot.
  8. Just comp!ever 12 days on Quest and found the meals good to excellent of course food is very subjective. We had one slightly overcooked veal chop, still edible but all of the rest of the meals were prepared to our liking. We enjoyed the variety but I can see how varied tastes can become bored with the choices or feel differently. Food is subjective.
  9. Our experience on Quest two weeks ago was different, although we were in a PH1. All of the items you mentioned as missing were in our cabin with the exception of the metal water bottles. We bring our own anyway because theirs are uninsulated. Our fridge was stocked with the items we requested in our pre cruise notes and our cabin attendant was very attentive. Again, maybe due to the cabin level but we found it very compatible to Oceania. We don't care for Viking so I won't compare to them.
  10. Cruises now posted on Azamara website.
  11. On R ships we learned to go to the GDR at 6:45 and found that 6:30 line was mostly gone. In 28 days on two ships never waited for a 2 top.
  12. A generalization like "80% of cruisers" are anything after only one cruise on any cruise line just shows how unrealistic posters can be. Comparing Oceania unfavorably with huge HAL ships after one is similarly unrealistic.
  13. Just off Azamara after two Oceania cruises and we came away saying that we liked the entertainment and theme nights more. We thought the service, food and ambiance was similar on both lines but the 2 bands, shows & music selection were much more to our taste on Azamara (more '70s and '80s). One show was "Brit Rock" and another was music from movies, think Flash dance and Saturday night Fever era. We also liked the White Night party with 2 bands alternating non stop music and dancing that stretched into the aisle. Oceania has the advantage with more and newer ships and hopefully this refresh of entertainment continues to move them forward.
  14. Cabin: 8055 Ship: Quest Date sailed: April 2025 Would You Book This Room Again: No Noise: YES! It's below the Patio restaurant and a constant scraping of chairs all day until night and then loud rolling noises until after 10:00PM as the crew breaks it down and cleans up.
  15. Just received our cruise packet and boarding passes and there is mention of online check-in or at the pier. I can't find anything on the website and a search provided a 2023 link indicating there was no check-in online. Is that still the case? No online check-in?
  16. Used them in Sydney, Tahiti, Paris and Geneva and zero problems with the exception of a broken handle on the last trip. They paid the claim quickly. They also take care of any customs paperwork. Tracking was not a problem.
  17. I believe they're former Seabourne.
  18. When dining with another couple at home we generally get two separate checks. Is this common or even acceptable in Italy?
  19. Our April 11 Italy Intensive 12 day cruise was originally on shore but recently changed to on board without explanation. If a reason was included with the change notice then it may have been more palatable.
  20. How long does it usually take for the segments to be released?
  21. I have an interest in one of the new 2027 sailings with the early booking bonus & amenities but I'd like to wait to book until I am on board the Quest in April. Do the early booking bonus sales usually last that long?
  22. Thank you for such a wonderful review and so many photos. Our first Azamara cruise is the Italy Intensive next April and you have us really looking forward to it.
  23. I'm in the same situation with a cruise next spring that was booked in 2023 with my old TA. I have not had a problem in the past with transferring a cruise booked on board To the TA of my choice with Oceania or mainstream lines and I will not book on board with Azamara unless I get the same courtesy.
  24. Thanks for the detailed trip reports that you post on your blog. After your May land trip it sounded like you preferred cruising and wouldn't be returning to a land trip. How do you feel about it now? Is another land trip in your future?
  25. Our April 2025 Italy Intensive was just posted. It's on shore at the Goldoni opera house in Livorno. Its actually listed as AZ Amazing Evening on the excursion list.
