Prior to the new terminal opening RCI used Terminal Two here in Galveston. Carnival uses both One and Two. Depending on schedules the other lines could use Terminal One, I just don't remember seeing it. Years ago we had three ships debark on the same day, and one boarded further down from two near the grain elevator. That's been perhaps fifteen years or so. .

Loving this. In a land not far away (Galveston) the Magic came here when she was brand spanking new. Maroon 5 performed on The Strand area and we were invited to spend the night aboard and take a ship tour. My family has enjoyed the Ecstasy from Miami and Galveston with great memories aboard dating back to 1995. When she was refurbished after the fire we enjoyed several trips from here in Galveston. Here are a few of my favorite images, feel free to add. See You At Sea. .

They sailed from the Bayport Terminal in Pasadena, Texas for three years. When they left so did the gangway, effectively ending the "build it and they will come" foolishness from the Port Authority. The actual Port of Houston further inland has not had a cruise ship. NCL had a pitiful ship here in 1998 that lasted a short time. It sailed from Barbours Cut in La Porte with a Texarribean moniker that was a musty old bathtub of a ship. Celebrity and Disney have had runs here in Galveston. The Galaxy was here for a short contract. Galveston is a powerhouse. The ships are in international water quickly, full bar service and casino open long before the dining room starts service. The new terminal is looking great, and the ports long term business plan to include an additional hotel, parking garage and more make it a cruise port for a long time. .

We were told on the Breeze earlier this month they are replacing the ship specific ones with a generic label of Carnival. Looks like they have depleted their supply. .

We've had two cruises post Covid and one let us in, one was not familiar with the option for us. We were not given a letter at check-in and the person at that desk told us our cabin was ready. When we got to the doors we were turned away. I explained what we were told, what we were accustomed, and he let us through. Appreciate that on embarkation almost everyone is pressed into service to handle the rush. Some are relatively new to Carnival and to the industry. The second time we had zero problems, dropped luggage and had lunch by 11:30AM. Both cruises were from here in Galveston. .

The game will be on the big screen, in the main theater and in the sports bar. When we cruised that weekend it was not available in the cabin. The weather was wet and cool, so the theater filled early; at least 45 min before the kickoff. We love seats on the second tier on the glass in the theater and snagged one early. Food was plentiful, extra time for a burrito or Guys Burger. Appreciate this was before Covid, so who knows. Last month on the Breeze the cruise director shared they were over two hundred crew members short, and we could see a difference from past trips. .

Seriously, a brilliant resource. Just once I want to hear him share his preference (if any) for digital amateur radio. That would entertain and educate at least me... K5BLU. Icom 7100 and a couple of Kenwood mobiles. DMR, WiresX, Echolink and working on D-Star. .

Two experiences since returning to cruising with priority debarkation. Both were positive because we did NOT wait until the time on the letter to go to deck 3 and wait in the theater. The elevators were a mess. We learned a long time ago to press both the Up and Down button and just get aboard an elevator. Eventually it will get you there. There is a throng of people wanting to get down and they clog up the process. Mix in the Breeze crew made zero effort to stop anyone from entering that didn't have a letter as they said "priority?" and everyone said yes. They waived them all through. We saw cards of all colors in peoples hands in the diamond and platinum waiting area. I get it; they are two hundred crew short on this ship and quite possibly most of the other ships and embark and debark are their most stressful times. We were off the ship at 7:45 AM and home at 9. .

Depends. We were surprised to get cold cans given to us last week on the Breeze. Unknown if that is fleet wide.

We've seen one dog in forty plus years of cruising. On the Breeze last week we saw a box on the area by the lifeboats for dogs to relieve themselves. A large pan filled with absorbent and a small roped off area were visible through the windows. .

Amazing. We are in our last day at sea and met another person in the Diamond and Plat line at Guest Services that was part of the excursion. My cruising experience goes back to the Mardi Gras in 76 and twenty years here on Cruise Critic. My wife and our friends were on the elevator from Deck 0 to the Lido with the first woman that shared this. We have no value in fabricating what she shared. Did she make it all up? Dunno. I do know it was discussed again today from another source. So, for the skeptics, sure, your right. I didn’t monitor the boards here on our last day. We return to Galveston Terminal One tomorrow and I step off my first cruise. I made all the stuff up about past cruises also. Go search my reviews from decades ago. We did a new excursion with a sandbar stop to see stingrays and starfish. We elected not to go into detailed questioning to a woman in tears over loosing her cash and passport. My bad. .

No. We just left Cozumel and we talked with a couple on the elevator and lido before we returned to our cabin. They’ve cruised enough to be gold and had never experienced anything like this. This is our thirty-eighth cruise and we’d say the same. .

Today while we were in Cozumel on the Breeze the Save A Sea Turtle Experience turned horrific when twenty-seven cruisers were robbed. We rode the elevator back up with a couple that were on the tour, and they are working with Carnival to inventory what they lost. .

Interesting when you run out of content you drop down to name calling. Along with that, you have no idea of my families cruise history that will grow by one more in a few hours. In your refusal to accept that someone might not fall into an absolute you suggested you've gone off on a trail to include challenging an unknown. I originally stated to the OP there might not be an absolute you'd stated, and to find out via a phone call and verify via email. Finally, the employees here in the terminal in Galveston are part-time employees for Carnival, they were hired and trained by them and are a great group of people. .

My family have been on several, and as described in prior posts it's a blast. At dinner you will see hats on the table, noisemakers and a nicer choice of food in the MDR. Attire ranges from shorts and flip-flops to a more dressed up crowd. In thirty-seven cruises, seven of those being NYE I have not seen a tux in the last decade. Those were Caribbean trips and it was plenty warm on the Speedo Deck. The party starts around 9:30 or 10 in the atrium with music and the cruise director and a balloon drop at 11. Then up on the Speedo for the big party. Get a spot early! At midnight the big screen will do a countdown followed by a horn serenade from the Captain. Go, have a great time!

Fantasy Class ships! For many this was their introduction into cruising. I had the pleasure of cruising on the original Mardi Gras and the Celebration along with all the Fantasy ships, and we loved when the Ecstasy and Elation came here to Galveston.
