  1. When it use to be held only in the lounge the non elite person sharing a cabin could attend and get the drinks as it was an event, the same as the elite breakfast. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. Not only the seating on the balcony but most of the seating areas. I don’t think Kelly or anyone else sat in any of them to see if they are comfortable. It is design, style over function as almost everything she has done on the ships. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. From what I read If it is a partial transit of the canal all tours are thru the ship. When in the lake you leave directly from the ship to go on the tours. If you don’t have a tour you can’t `get off. The ship then stops at a city for a short time after leaving the canal to pick up the passengers. There are delays because of tours that go thru the rest of the locks to the pacific. Those can be delayed because of traffic coming back and also having to wait for access to get into the locks. 4. On the national news today it was reported that some cruise line are thinking of canceling the port. It is too bad as they recently put a lot of money into the area. It wouldn’t bother me if they change the stop to somewhere else as we normally stay on board when there. The same when in Grand Caymen. Don’t like doing the tender, plus the restriction on bars being open. I know, Celebrity found a way to get around it but with all of the cuts they may decide not to be so liberal and restrict it to the one bar period. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  5. Look on Celebrity’s website. There is a chart showing and comparing the differences for the levels. Happy cruising cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. I have purchased many straps for my Panerai from here https://panatime.com/watch-straps/by-material/alligator/ i wouldn’t touch those pre owned Rolex watches sold on board. They are over priced for basically a counterfeit. There is a disclaimer that they are reconditioned by a third party not certified by Rolex with non Rolex parts. If you ever sent it back to Rolex for service or repair they would destroy it. It would be hard to resell without taking a big loss. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. There is a store where I have became β€œfriends” with because of the high end watches I buy. I asked why his shop wasn’t listed. He said that he was paying $500 per cruise ship and sometimes there were 7 ships in the port plus a kickback. That is why they want you to fill out that β€˜β€œwarranty paper” that is worthless. They just want to know what you buying to make sure that they get their share. He said that the watches he sold didn’t need to be promoted as the serious buyers knew where he was. He didn’t want the people coming in looking for something free or the flippers. He kept the in demand watches for his best customers. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. I like the S class the best. On the E class the loungers weren’t comfortable and difficult to get into and out of. I am very flexible an have a BMI of 22.1, and 5 ft 10 for reference. The rooms were also useless. Sitting in a room with a salt block, or crystal? Tried the shower tunnel and not a fan. Went there 2 times during 28 days. Found it like a lot of seating on the E class, made for design and not for comfort. if the E class was was too busy I guess many really liked it. We all have different bodies and likes. Never know unless you try. As Yogi said. β€œNobody goes there anymore because it is too crowded”. πŸ€— Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  9. Does anyone miss them? I haven’t seen any listed on our last few cruises. As a rookie cruiser that didn’t know any better we would attend the seminars to learn where the best deals were, as we all were lead to believe you could buy stuff almost free on the islands because it was duty free and they didn’t know what it was worth. After a few cruises I learned that the joke was on us. ( I was a slow learner). We didn’t know what the stuff we were buying was really worth and most times it wasn’t the great bargain that we thought we were getting and many times over paid. It had to be a bargain because the expect shopper told us and we were on a cruise where everything was cheaper. I asked on the Beyond and was told that Celebrity didn’t think it was right to have them on board telling people where to shop on the islands and competing with the shops on board Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  10. The Persian Gardens on the M class isn’t the same as what is on the S or E class. There aren’t any heated loungers. It is a bench along a wall like a church pew. Can fit 4 socially. 6 gets a little uncomfortable. Went twice out of many cruises in AQ, never went back. Like sitting in a cave. Blu is the main amenity of AQ on the M class. Blu is open for breakfast, and dinner every day. Those cabins. and concierge are larger than a regular veranda on the M class. You also get 2 more CC points/day. Priorities were always a joke. Everyone had one, either by status or cabin category. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. We started sailing on Carnival back in 2000. It was our first cruise. We had a great time and sailed over 30 times with them. It was as they advertise, a fun ship. Out of curiosity I wanted to book a Celebrtiy cruise. My wife (not the wife 😱) wanted to know why as we liked Carnival and had the top tier in their loyalty club. In 2011 booked an Aqua Cabin because we wanted to have the healthier dining options. As soon as we walked on board they gave us a free glass of sparkling wine (they no longer do that) and as we walked into the atrium we went WOW! When we got to our cabin and seen the bottle of bubbly and other amenities that came with Aqua my wife said I think we found a new cruise line. After we dined in Blu that night my wife said I think we should start sailing on Celebrity. Never looked back. If we would have started on Celebrity we would be Zenith. Celebrity treats you like an adult. There is usually only one announcement per day. No belly flops, or hairy chest contests. No Low Rider playing during Breakfast. We always had great service on Carnival and Celebrity is the same. Great, and friendly service. Food? We always found something to eat. Haven’t been on Carnival since 2010 so I don’t know how it is now but I know that the specialty restaurants were cheaper on Carnival and their food, and service great in them. I would recommend booking an Aqua Class cabin. You have a very nice dedicated restaurant called Blu for breakfast and dinner that has it’s own exclusive menu. It is only for those in Aqua, and suite guests based on availability. The Aqua cabins are only for 2 people. Chances are there won’t be many children dining there. You also get the unlimited use of the Thermal Spa. There are also other little amenities that make it special. Celebrating your 30th book Aqua and add the classic drink pack and internet (all included option). With the drink package you get many alcohol drinks, bottled water, the special coffee drinks, and wine all day long and at breakfast and dinner. You wife will also love you extra special for doing that.πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ˜. You can always upgrade to the premium. I recently upgraded to the premium when they had a sale for $7/day pp, keep checking for sales on the Celebrity site after you book. Register on the Celebrity site and list your booking. Then look at manage your booking and it will show excursions, drinks packs and etc with any discounts if available. It constantly changes I always boo when the comics or other entertainers make fun of or bad mouth Carnival. We had great times with them, but I think you will find Celebrity will suit you more as you want to move on. Happy anniversary and wishing you many more. Time goes by fast after that. Me and my wife will be close to 60. Seemed like a long time to get to 25, now they just fly away. Can’t keep up. Truth is I can’t remember ever being single, old age taking its toll. πŸ™„ Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. If you look at the sites mentioned it will show what the payoffs are for the machines. JOB ( jacks or better) 9/6 means that that you get paid 9 for 1 on the full house and 6 for 1 on the flush. That is how the payoffs are referred to. Look at the payoff tables for each game and look at the tables. On the sites I referred to you can enter the payoffs for the games and it will calculate the odds for the correct play. Naturally someone can play totally against what is considered the correct play and win a bigger payoff. I seen a player with a pat full house. Aces and kings. They kept an ace of hearts and king of hearts and hit a royal flush. if you want to have a chance of winning you need to study the games and practice playing on the free sites. Regular slots are basically pure luck but there is a little strategy involved. VP is luck and strategy. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. There are sites such as WizardofOdds. https://wizardofodds.com/games/ If you go to that site he has the odds and strategies for just about every game. I have been following him for years. There is one section where you can plug in the payoff for the various VP games and get the odds. Another site is video poker.com https://www.videopoker.com/apps/ you can play, enter contests and etc. it is free but if you become a member for a small fee you get some premium benefits. happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  14. The casinos base their reward earning points and comps on the potential rate of return per dollar played. Craps is less than BJ. All table games gives the least points and comps per dollar played. In slots VP earns less than the regular slots as the potential pay back is more. Slots may have a return of 85%. VP is around 95%. I know that people will say that they get a return higher but the machines are set up for the long term. Over hundred of thousand plays those machines will end up with that rate of return. Just like flipping a coin. Over the long term it will be 50 50 heads and tails. Even if an edge turns up. πŸ˜±πŸ€— I was told if you use OBC you won’t earn any points. I think you will earn points after it is ran thru once. They want new money. Don’t know if that is true with all OBC. I purchased the promo dollars using OBC to get $55 for $50. I didn’t earn any points when playing that and that was all that I played. I put the $55 thru the machine once. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. Google how to find the owner of a locked phone. It will have a lot of different methods to try. One is to get into the emergency contacts. If you have a charger keep it charged and someone may call. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  16. I would tell you but then everyone would go there.πŸ€—πŸ€«πŸ€ Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. I my fav is Old Fashions. Luxardo Cherries , orange wedge, sweetener, it can be agave syrup, muddle brown sugar cube, or maple syrup all muddled and some of the Luxardo cherry juice. use 4 to 5 different bitters, 2 0z bourbon and a large ice cube. Sometimes a 1/4 to 1/2 oz of Grand Marnier for that extra kick and orange flavor. Twist of orange peel for garnish. I found on board that the BTs don’t make the drinks the same I will tell them how I like it and then frequent that BT that makes it the best rating to me. At home if it is too sweet or not sweet enough I adjust, some BTs will do that. For a great experience have one with a small bite from a piece of chocolate before taking a sip. Use the one that is on your pillow. Very small bites and that piece will last the whole drink. At home we will have the chocolate covered cherries that we purchase from Nut.com. Learned that trick when visiting the distilleries in KY on the Bourbon Trail https://nuts.com/driedfruit/cherries/dark-chocolate/1lb.html Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. I would choose the Ascent or Beyond. Both have been improved over the Apex and newer. Been on the Apex and Beyond. I like the Beyond more than the Apex because of the Martini bar layout and having the World Class Bar. The Ascent will have enhancements over the other 2. Any of them would be a nice cruise experience. Best is to evaluate the cost and itinerary. Choose the one that works for you. Ex of you can get Aqua class on one ship for the same cost of a veranda on the other go for the Aqua if that is in your budget. Wouldn’t pay any new ship premium to sail on the Ascent, if you understand what I mean. I would say take the one that is the best value for the same category. It will all be new to you and enjoyable. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  19. Nothing to seem. They are too high. Won’t book them any longer. I have already paid for the meals in my cruise fare. Add that additional and I can’t justify it. Eat enough as it is without having to pay more to eat more than I need. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. We were on a cruise in Nov. There was someone else that was also on that cruise and posted a live blog. She wrote that she booked got 50% off of a few specialty dinners when on board, and that they are giving away food. Prior to the cruise I always checked for discounts on the dining. Never seen 50% off. I think 5%was max and I can get more with my CC perks There was a person always standing at a podium to book those dinners. I keep asking if there were any discounts. He said no. I told and showed him the blog. He said it never happened and there were never any discounts like that for a long time. Sometimes people write stuff that they want to believe or to glamorize to make others think they are special. Or they are just confused and don’t know what they really got. The short answer. NO large discounts. At most is the first night that I have seen to be 30% on the S, and M class. On the E class the best amount is what you get from the CC perks. Happy crusing πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. Never had any issues of noise when by an elevator. I would stick with deck 11. Check the deck plan for what is above deck 12. With 11 you will have cabins. Should be quieter unless you have people above that walk around like a heard of elephants or do aerobics in the cabin. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. Some bars have Goslings, and also Bundaberg. Some BTs will mix coke, and sprite, or 7 Up when making drinks out of a gun as a substitute for ginger ale. as you probably know there is a difference between ginger beer and ginger ale. I tried drinking Canada dry but it is impossible. The more I drink the more they make. 😱 Drink up πŸΎπŸ§‹πŸ·πŸ₯‚πŸ§‰πŸΉπŸΈπŸ»
  23. That is one of those places that also takes excess fabric items and sells as bulk rags. It just seems a shame to think that is where they will end up. I guess I just have to face the facts that is all they are worth. Fancy rags to be used to wipe up grease, oil and etc. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. I would like to know what you do with them when finished. My parents passed away a few years back and I inherited about 15 of those things, a family member took one. The rest I can’t give them away because no one wants one. They are in great shape as they were used as covers on the bed, hung on a quilt rack, or still in the box. They were all hand made by some of the Polish , and Ukrainian women in the area. I even asked at a dog shelter and they don’t want them. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I guess at worst I can donate to the SA or other charity type thrift store and they will end up being sold as bulk rags. Asked a pregnancy center but they are limited on what they can accept because of the liability. The can’t be guaranteed that they are flame proof, non toxic and etc. I. don’t want to just toss them but I am tired of having them around. I have the same problem with hand made shawls, and afghans that they had. The same with doilies. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  25. From what I read some passengers wanted the private lounge so they could meet and mingle with other elite and above that share the same cruise passion. πŸ™„ Apparently not many are interested in doing that. Sometimes don’t ask or wish for something as you may get it. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
