  1. Thanks to both of you...is there any way online to tell if your choice has a tub?
  2. From some videos I've seen it looks like the materials in the original non-star balcony bathrooms have been updated, but they still have the bath/shower tubs rather than the new star cabin shower stalls with no tub. If they still have the tub, are there "gripper bars" attached to the walls as there used to be per older pix of the cabins? Thanks for any info.
  3. I meant that they use the ship card to dis/embark in Juneau instead of the facial camera.
  4. Yes, I know. You still have to take it with you for that, but the facial recognition is still handy getting on/off the ship. They don't use the facial recognition if you can get off/on the ship and directly be outside of any other check points, such as in Juneau, AK.
  5. Agree; not sure if it is any faster than submiting your card, but much handier!
  6. We arrived home last week after our first Oceania cruise on the Regatta in 4043. We loved the ship, service, personnel, and the cabin (it was very quiet, except for those who continuously let their cabin door slam). However, we did not like the small bathroom and shower. How do others tolerate the layout? We are used to larger bathrooms, even in small cabins on larger ships. I realize that the cabin size itself only allows a certain amount of room for the bath area, but we will probably not book a C1 class cabin again and would have to upgrade to a larger cabin at a higher cost if we want to travel on Oceania again, which may not be possible. We did love our Alaska cruise, though!
  7. The only thing I see on page 2 below the masking "update" on page 1 is the cruise itinerary.
  8. We got both; the second one a few days ago (June 17th) for our September 14-day cruise. We do not go to Whittier. Now I'm really confused!!
  9. Hi Roger, Sorry to interrupt this thread, but I thought you had to cancel your September Alaska cruise?
  10. I wanted to ask another tipping question, but this topic has drifted since the first post. I skimmed and searched but I could not find out if diners usually tip after dining in a Specialty Restaurant? I know the daily gratuity covers room and regular dining servers, but what about in the Specialties? Thanks for any tips/info.
  11. Sorry. I had seen the previous comment about an antigen test, but it seemed to imply getting it on Friday at the Vancouver Airport and they didn't have time for that. I wasn't sure that they understood that they could also get one on Friday AM that would be valid for the cruise.
  12. Wouldn't an antigen test at a home location before their flight on Friday also be ok for a Sunday cruise? That works out to 2 days (if up to date on vax).
  13. On a slightly different topic, does Oceania put a hold amount on your credit card? If so, how much is it per day? Thanks.
  14. Do you know if you still have to stand in the long line at the airport if you have a pre-booked appointment?
  15. So you've been on excursions where they return to a previous stop because someone's phone is missing? That seems rude to the rest of the travelers...😒
  16. Thanks for this information. I did know about the new dock, but not about the difficulties. Do you know if you have to go to the downtown to go on ship-booked excursions, or do they leave from the new pier? Oops! I just noticed you mentioned "tour buses" were at the building after your walk from the ship...
  17. You can wait until you board to apply it. Then you don't have to wait on hold.
  18. Thanks for all the responses...I guess I forgot to mention I was cruising from Seattle rather than Europe. All the rules for Europe seem really confusing!😲
  19. I know this has been discussed here before, but now I am getting worried because my latest cruise information from O emphasizes the "48 hour" time for an antigen test. Has anyone been challenged that their test 2 days before a cruise was more than 48 hours, such as 52 hours, and so invalid? Our test is scheduled for 10am on the Saturday before our Monday cruise. I don't know when our boarding time will be, but I'm sure it's not 10am on Monday. Oceania's original statement about the 48 hours had a chart that just said the test needed to be done on "Saturday", no time listed. Appreciate any comments/information.
  20. I believe the test location is near the check-in area for the US airlines near the entrance to the Fairmont Hotel. Not sure of the name of the provider, though.
  21. Bummer...if you can't find any crackers, nobody can!!!
  22. Thanks for the quick response, but that's sad to hear. Cheese needs crackers...will plan to bring our own.🙁 Isn't a cracker wrapper made of cellophane? I didn't think that had plastic in it. Maybe I'm wrong. P.S. I just noticed you mentioned "no individually package(d) crackers". Do they provide some unpackaged crackers with a cheese plate at dinner or elsewhere?
  23. Love the chip/nacho tip!! Just thought of another question. Last Fall, I believe, cruisers were reporting that HAL was no longer carrying saltine (or other types) of crackers to have with cheese/soup, etc. This was supposedly because they were wrapped in "plastic". Have crackers returned? I hope so.
  24. Why don't you hold on to it and apply it to your account after you board?
  25. Another THANK YOU! I especially appreciated the menus that will useful for a later cruise this year!
