  1. Lady - I did Zumba for quite awhile. I had no idea what to expect, but it turned out to be soooo fun! My class was held in a church gymnasium and there were all types in there. (Classes ended, and so did my Zumba )

I think Zumba is one of those things that you get out of it what you put into it. If you really do the moves in a big way, you will work up quite a sweat!

You should try it - you might surprise yourself!

When I started reading this original post, I truly thought there was a typo on the date.

I do totally understand why you didn't go another cruise with RCCL right after that debacle in 2004. You were angry and did the only thing you knew to do -- refused to give them any business. You knowingly let your $100 compensation credit expire.

Now we fast-forward to 2012. You know your credit has expired, but you decide to hand over your hard earned money for another cruise anyway.

You essentially are starting with a clean slate.

You either need to wipe it clean completely -- meaning get over what happened eight years ago - or you need to cancel your cruise with RCCL and go somewhere else.

Best wishes to you whatever you decide.

  3. Morning all! It seems everyone is on track and doing well - despite the slips!

I had my weigh in this morning and I lost 1.6 for the week... trust me I'm not sure how that happeend.

I've been sick for a solid two weeks. No gym, but I'm at least trying to eat right. Last weekend was the worst - I grabbed a bag of chips while watching football and just started eating. I have NO idea why!!! I don't even like chips!

I'm pretty sure my weight loss is from being sick. So, I think I'm turning the corner, I've been on antibiotics and Mucinex D for nearly a week, so I'm making a promise to myself to get into the gym at least once this weekend.

PS -- Mexican food is my downfall. If you gave me a choice of chocolate molten cake or chips and queso.... I'd choose the latter EVERYTIME!

  4. Hi gang, I would like to join your group, if its not too late.

I'm participating in another thread on this board as well, but its mostly a weigh-in board once a week.

Like Blonde, I'm on CC just about everyday, so I would love some everyday encouragement! LOL!

I actually started my weight loss journey a year ago at the wonderful weight of 277 pounds. I am currently at 221, but would love to be under 200 before my cruise in March... so ironically, like most of you I have a 20 pound goal - LOL!

I've been incredibly loyal to the gym - up until this year. Go figure! I went snow skiing for the first time in my life over New Year's and came home so banged up and bruised that I gave my body a week off from the gym to heal. As you can guess, I did more falling then skiing.

Then last week I came down with a nasty sinus infection. I have Lupus, which means anytime I get sick, it's multiplied by 100 so of course I feel like I have the flu, not sinusitis. So again -- another week away from the gym to heal.

Bottom line - 3 weeks into the new year and I have been to the gym one time. Boo hiss! I'm sick of being sick. I am vowing to myself that no matter what, I'm going to the gym this coming week. I'll just sweat all this out!

  5. We got very spoiled by the aft balconies on Rhapsody, especially the corner ones that wrap completely around. When I had a chance to check out the aft balconies on Mariner, it seemed there was a lot of the ship structure in the way.

We've had the center hump and just left of center hump on Mariner and totally LOVED both of them. I know its all perception, but its kind of cool to look back and forward with no obstructions.

We now have an aft balcony planned for Serenade. It's our first time in this class of ship, so I'm hoping its more like Rhapsody.

  6. I've had no luck so far bidding Priceline, for San Pedro 3.5 stars for 12-5-09 to 12-06-09. Started at $65 and went up to $80. No luck.

Now going back to $65 and will try again. Any wisdom/ encouragement/ thoughts?

    Departing SP on Mariner 12-06-09.

    Thanks in advance!

After trying for several days and going up to $80... I decided to fly in a day early. So I rebid and dropped the bid down back to $60 and the offer was accepted. So we ended up with the Crowne Plaza for 2 nights at $60 per night 2/12 and 2/13.

We also found if we fly into Orange County on Southwest, it's $180 pp cheaper than LAX, so we're still coming out ahead!

I'm thinking they're putting a 2-day minimum on some weekends - and ours just happened to be Valentine's Day weekend.

    Good luck!

  7. Please clear up my foggy memory... do I remember correctly during that big June sale that some TAs were giving OBC with new bookings, but that it couldn't be combined with NextCruise??? Does anyone remember if this was the case?

We're definitely going to take advantage of this on AOS next month either way, but I was just curious if it will combine with other OBC deals I might find.
