  1. We did 3 TA on Celebrity. During the crossing, for lunch at the Lido, they chose a country and featured the food of that country. It was always really good. This October, we are going on the Nieuw Statendam for the TA. Do you know if HAL has something similar during their TA?
  2. I reserved our cruise with HAL and then transferred to a big box TA. Following this I reserved our flight on HAL site. I have to pay the flight when I do the final payment. My question is to which company do I pay the flight when it comes due. HAL, the bog box TA or in my case Air Canada.
  3. It would be nice to be able to select a seat already. Now we have to make up our mind which city we want to go to before the cruise. It was Nice but now we are leaning towards Florence 🙂
  4. Thank you Kazu for the info. So I have nothing to loose by booking it. If I see something more interesting I will just cancel it.
  5. We are booked on a TA cruise next October. I was looking at Flight Ease to book our flight to Europe from Montreal. Their flexible price for a flight is much less than the regular economy. The restriction says Prices and Availability are not guaranteed until the cruise and air booking are paid in full. No fees will be charged for changes and cancellations made prior to the cruise final payment due date. To me it means that until I pay for the flight and cruise together, we are not assured a seat or know what the final price of the flight will be. Can I pay for the flight only now to guarantee a seat and price and pay for the cruise only when final payment is required?
  6. Thank for coming back with your experiences. Coming back to Mtl must have been a shock not only the snow, but the cold. I feel comfortable with the noon flight. Naturally unexpected events can happen. Our daughter came back 2 weeks ago from a cruise (HAL) from Fort Lauderdale. They took the latest disembark. They were going to the airport to rent a car and they were at 10:30.They took a porter and skipped the line. We will do that. Again thank you both.
  7. To Johnindc and Trueblueky, These are all good tips. Many thanks,
  8. We are arriving on HAL Statendam at 7 am on November 10, 2019. I want to book a flight at noon from FLL airport. We arrived twice already at that port but did not pay much attention to the process since our flights were in the afternoon. On Nov 10, beside the Statendam there will be the Zuiderman, the Regal Princess (3,560 passengers) and the Allure of the Sea (5,400 passengers). is there only one custom for all the ships or are the ships docked at different pier and each pier has its own custom. Because of the huge ships should I be worry that it will affect the HAL ship?
  9. Most of the time I book directly with the cruise company itself. I did so directly with HAL for our 2019 Translatlantic. Today I noticed a big box store offering quite a bit of onboard $ for the cruise. I found out I can transfer my reservation. I am wondering what I should be concerned about if I do so.
  10. When you have the drink package, do you have to sign a receipt? We are used to Celebrity where you do not have to.
  11. Yes I always bring my bottle and I have reminded other cruiser not to fill your bottle directly from the spout. Use a glass. We usually buy a bottle of gin to be delivered to the cabin and I am happy to know that I will be able to buy tonic along the way. I do not drink soft drink but I enjoy a Perrier citron, gin tonic and wine :)
  12. Thank you for the info. We just booked a cruise with HAL.
  13. Do you knoe if this is only at embarquation or also at the ports along the cruise?
  14. I am not familiar with the drink card on Holland. What is the advantage. Is it that it costs something like 90$ for a 100$ card? We are planning a transatlantic with Holland. Do they have sales on the drink package for TA sometimes. On Celebrity, we were purchasing the drink package with a 50% discount. I do not think it is advertised. I would just check regularly and people on the roll call would also informed us.
