For Californians  https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ this is a Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record

This site is clunky at best, and many replies are incomplete or missing information.

This site relies on the original vaccinators to have submitted timely and complete records, many are not submitting or have not done so, and still varies by counties

    YMMV

    Poor location.

On the edge of the city centre, the opposite edge to the cruise terminals. That said, the city centre is quite compact and it's only a fifteen-minute walk to city centre shops & the Bargate  (originally the entrance to the walled city). A taxi to a cruise terminal would cost about £8 to £10

Being on the edge of the city centre, all facilities (decent pubs, restaurants, shops. etc) are in one direction.

Big hotel with no parking lot - definitely not a place to stay if you have a car.

More-importantly, it occupies the centre of a 5-way roundabout (traffic island?). Pedestrians can use the traffic lights to cross - so most hotel guests survive the walk to the other side 😉.

    IMHO, pretty-well Southampton's worst-located city centre hotel. ☹️

I've been in its public rooms a few times for meetings, but not stayed there.

So I can really only comment on the location, but reviews seem to be quite reasonable.

    Thanks for the update

My  complaint is it takes forever for the application to open. I get that blurry ship first and it takes at least a few minutes till anything else happens. Once working with the application, very very slow. I have a brand new phone so can't blame it on equipment.

    Hi Sue

I been meaning to catch you on one of your posts.. Just a quick question on how Pia has been doing during all the craziness this past year ? She never posts here anymore, so I was just curious.

Hope you and Lou are well

After going back and forth with the Medallion team the app works for me. As others suggested, I think I had data translation errors on the Princess side. If I hadn't been a "squeaky wheel" with the app team I don't think my problems would have been solved.

Great to hear you're up and running, and your persistence paid off 🙂

Now lets see if Princess can duplicate it a couple million more times, though at this point it appears doubtful ....

Sorry. I read "should have gone" as left the fleet. They did not leave the Carnival Corp fleet, they were transferred out of PCL to POAU and stayed within the Carnival Corp fleet

Great retort - You win 🤡

LOL ..We all appreciate your awe inspiring all knowing cruise lectures with your heavy emphasis on old news, and readily available information  , and look forward to more in the future.....

Star & Golden weren't "sold" by Carnival Corp, they were transferred to another line in the fleet that dumped older ships.

The 19th ship in the fleet is now sold: 1996 built AIDAcara is gone. Actually trimming AIDA line by 2 as their new build will be sailing as a Carnival Cruise Ship as will the Costa Magica. Guess that's to make up for scrapping 4 old ones without ordering more new builds than already under contract. Gotta make up for 17 months of lost revenue / 5-6 months of reduced revenue

Sorry, if you'd bother to read my post before trying to be the posting police, you'd see the word "SOLD" as you quoted never was mentioned in my post

I assumed a basic understanding that most regular poster's here knew what the word "gone" meant referring to leaving the fleet, but apparently my assumption only applies to those who read first, and then reply to the actual words , not the eager posting police trying  to really show everyone how much cruise information they have, sadly in this case even if the dated information is already known by all...

Cruise More, & Post Less  or at least read first

With life returning to almost a 100% of pre-pandemic here in California in almost all aspects inside & outside life  for vaccinated residents , I'm starting to ask myself if some of the multitude of new dinning requirements and loyalty changes, and all the new onboard protocols, and  mostly  the seemingly unabashed diminished concern for customers reaction to them, seem to me  to be a bit self serving rather then health protocol related, the dark time are past for most of us, and I don't want a cruise that reminds me of last December 2020, and not Now in summer 2021 - Two completely different times in America, the scariest of all is the stunningly anti-customer demand to use the app or don't sail demand.

After 15 months during which Princess held thousands of dollars of my money, basically it was my effort to help out a company that I previously loved, and who by extension promised me a similar product when I came to redeemed those credits, is now telling me in order to use my own money which they hold, I now have to jump through their hoops, except the new questionable onboard experience, except a unbelievable bad IT experience on their web-site and app - OR - hit the highway -slash "take or leave it "

I don't want or need any more webinar's to explain what's changed to seemingly only help out Princess, or to tell what not available anymore, and things I now need to do to to except it all

Princess, and all cruise lines suffered in the past 15 months, but so did we customers, we all had our own tough times over this period, but we all helped out where we could,  excepted the roller coaster ride of sticking with Princess with our loyalty, and our future bookings , but IMO it's time to drop the "poor me Princess attitude", and give customers the promise of the Princess experience we'd come to expect, we were promised, and in fact for many of us have "paid in advance" for.

Come on Princess you can do better

"If" they were to sell one of the two sister ships, it should be the Island that goes first....

Absolutely, that mutilated misfit should have gone ahead of the Pacific, Star, and Golden IMO. Anyone who sailed on the Island before the frankensteinian redo compared to after/now, will understand what I mean.

One device is fine.  Just like flying where you might have both BP's on one device and swipe back and forth from one to other.  Cabinmate appears with either person's login, along with their info.

Besides, once the Princess check-in person has you and looks up on their laptop at check-in, they see both of you for the passport check.

    Thank You

    Clean and Concise !

  10. I've asked recently, and I sure because of the uncertainty of the MC upgrades the answer have been mixed.

Question Can we use just one device for both passengers (android) for both MC registration, and port check in or do both passengers need their own device ? -- (not interested in onboard use info just the required pre-board stuff)

Ok, I’ll add my experience.  We are on the Ruby in September in a suite.  One of the benefits of a suite is free speciality restaurant on the day of embarkation.  Another passenger on our cruise said they were able to do this and get the restaurant for free as the $29 fee had a $29 credit.

When I tried it for the two of us, it wouldn’t do that, it wanted to charge us both $29, no “free”.  So I asked the other passenger how he did it.  He explained that he went in and made a single reservation for himself for the first night at $29 and got the “credit” which erased it.  So I tried that and it worked.  However, using my app on my phone, I tried selecting my wife who is listed as a “companion” on my app, and making a separate single reservation.  No go, $29 fee no credit.  So I set up my wife’s iPhone separately as “her” (logged in using our booking number), and filled in her iPhone number, address etc.  Then I tried booking her as a single speciality restaurant reservation at the same time as I had already booked me.  Worked like a charm!  Got the credit which erased the charges.  So we have two independent reservations at the same time, but both are free.  Don’t know whether this applies to everything, but it is how it’s working now.  Maybe if you logged out of you, and then logged in separately as your wife with a different login, you could get this to work on one phone, but I didn’t try that.

I believe you mean September 2019 on the Ruby...

As of April 2021, there is a complete new version of the Medallionclass app, in fact the previous onboard "Ocean Ready app" no longer even exists making most previous anecdotal app experiences somewhat less concrete.

I feel until there is current new real world use, we all just have wait til next month for updates on current practicalities.

  12. So in reality until the start of sailings next month, we really don't know, now with the requirement to check in through the app, if we'll each person needs a mobile device with their own app to check in

I agree with the one device comment,  the only time in the past with the old OceanReady app we tried to use Medallion, you could use one phone for all passengers to board, as it turned out though when we arrived to board the Royal in FLL, the entire system had crashed, and they were checking in everyone by hand....

But with the new iteration of the Medallionclass app, and the absolute requirement for every passenger to use it, I'm hoping there's a definitive answer coming soon. --> 1 device or 2 ?
