  1. Well the CDC can say "okay to ahead and sail" however the cruise lines need to find countries that want 2,000+ folks coming ashore right now. Good luck with that!
  2. You just hit the nail on the head! By the time any changes are made to the law, it will be at least late into 2022 and ships will most likely have been welcomed back to Canada.
  3. That was always my fear when using an outhouse - being attacked from below!
  4. Anyone who was paying attention to the way things were going with Covid numbers and vaccinations could have predicted this!
  5. The same issues are happening everywhere tourism is the main industry. I feel for everyone in the tourist, restaurant, small business industries.
  6. Sorry but your June cruise is not happening. Cruises will not be allowed in Canadian waters.
  7. Ummm - the good folks in Alaska might not want cruise ships and their thousands of passengers this summer either.
  8. Well the Canadian Government has just announced that the cruise ship ban (for ships holding over 100 people) is being extended until February 2022. So any Alaskan cruises, or east coast cruises landing in Atlantic Canada won't be happening until at least spring of 2022.
  9. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/pei-cruise-ship-ban-effects-1.5901198 There you go MJL from Gettysburg. Not a surprise at all.
  10. Just announced that cruise ships with more than 100 people onboard will continue to be banned from Canadian waters until February 2022. So no Alaska cruises in 2021.
  11. Just announced that cruise ships with more than 100 people onboard will continue to be banned from Canadian waters until February 2022. So no Alaska cruises in 2021.
  12. Sure hope this trip is fully refundable, booking a cruise for June 2021 might be a little premature!
  13. Any one that doesn't need a deposit or will give you a full refund as no one knows for sure if there will be cruises allowed in/out of Canada by July. The Pan Pacific is right above the pier and you could walk anywhere in the downtown core.
  14. Yes vaccinations could start by the end of the year; HOWEVER you have to get buy in from the public to actually get vaccinated. Then you have to wait for enough people to get it worldwide for it to actually start bringing number of cases down. It appears hard enough to get people to get the regular flu shot, expecting them to get a brand new vaccination will be impossible. Heck most of them won't even wear masks!
  15. Dream on! In order for it to actually start working the majority of people have to get vaccinated and then we wait a few months for it to take effect on a large scale. Not to mention the fact that governments haven't figured out yet how to roll it out!
